Kong shi

Kong shi is the founder of the Master Teacher Pavilion, the first Celestial Master Teacher, and the bearer of the Heavens' Order fragment. On the Master Teacher Continent, he leads humanity against the Otherworldly Demonic Tribe, makes education available without discrimination, and raises the Ten Apostles and Seventy-two Sages. His statues, residual wills, and inheritances guide Zhang Xuan long before the two meet in person, but Kong shi repeatedly insists that a successor must create a path rather than remain confined by the founder's achievements. After ascending through the Azure, Kong shi reaches the Firmament roughly forty years before Zhang Xuan, becomes an unprecedented tenth God Monarch, and gains recognition from the rulers of eight Skies. His attempt to reunify the fragmented heavens appears to end when Luo Ruoxin destroys him across every point in his history, but the death is the final stage of Severing the Three Necrophorus. By separating benevolence into the Great Codex of Spring and Autumn, malevolence into his clone, and ego through his apparent death, he transcends his dependence on Heavens' Order and survives as the Heaven Subjugation Monarch. Biography

Founder and World's Teacher

Kong shi lives during the Master Teacher Continent's war with the Otherworldly Demonic Tribe. He does more than defeat invaders: he creates the Master Teacher Pavilion to spread reliable teaching, promotes education without regard to birth, and envisions a society in which ordinary people can become experts. His personal students become the Ten Apostles and part of the Seventy-two Sages, while occupational knowledge is organized and preserved rather than restricted to isolated lineages. These institutions let human civilization continue resisting after his ascension. (Chapters 395–397, 838, 1,768–1,770, and 1,890)

The founder's success carries private costs and uncertainties. Like Zhang Xuan, Kong shi suffers from the Innate Fetal Poison and searches for a cure while advancing. He eventually expels it by drawing heavenly flames during his breakthrough to Great Sage, but later warns Zhang Xuan that the poison contains a concealed force rather than being an ordinary toxin. His Great Sage breakthrough method strengthens zhenqi, Spiritual Perception, and foundation through the flames, yet demands a constitution and endurance capable of surviving them. Kong shi leaves residual wills, calligraphy, seals, and trial grounds rather than a single rigid curriculum. At the Saint Ascension Platform, a youthful will transmits the Saint Ascension Decipher and a mentor's calligraphy while acknowledging Zhang Xuan's Celestial Saint potential. Another will recognizes Zhang Xuan as a Celestial Master Teacher and attempts to accept him as a disciple. When Zhang Xuan later reaches the Great Codex, Kong shi instead urges him to develop his own path and warns him not to repeat a predecessor's limitations. (Chapters 369, 395–397, 838, and 1,087)

The Great Codex and the Prime Hall

Kong shi uses the Great Codex of Spring and Autumn to suppress the Otherworldly Demonic Tribe and bind knowledge to an artifact that exists across time. Within the Temple of Confucius, the Prime Hall preserves his trials, occupational mastery, and division of the Lower, Middle, and Upper Nine Paths. The system reflects his belief that scholarship, culture, and practical occupations support cultivation rather than distract from it. His seventy-two students help compile and carry those heritages, turning personal knowledge into a civilizational archive. (Chapters 680, 1,087, 1,768–1,770, and 1,890)

The same inheritance is later revealed as part of Kong shi's cultivation plan. He had severed his Benevolent Necrophorus and placed it within the Great Codex, externalizing goodness without abandoning the institutions built from it. This is why the artifact can be both a repository of time and knowledge and a component of a technique meant to free him from the heavens. Its benevolent nature is genuine, but it is not the whole person who eventually reaches the Firmament. (Chapters 2,236–2,238)

Ascension and the shadow in the Azure

Kong shi ascends from the Master Teacher Continent to the Azure before entering the Firmament. During that passage, he severs his Malevolent Necrophorus, which becomes a separate and nearly indistinguishable clone. The real Kong shi continues upward, whereas the clone remains tied to the Azure, controls the Hall of Gods and Ethereal Hall, and pursues Zhang Xuan. Their shared appearance, cultivation foundation, and heavenly fragment cause later witnesses to conflate them, but the real Kong shi neither orders nor performs the clone's attacks. Severing the malevolent aspect is deliberate, but its escape is not. Kong shi seals the resulting clone in the Ethereal Hall and believes that it remains suppressed in the Azure; only later does it overcome the seal and act on its own. Kong shi considers sending a sliver of will down to restrain it, then leaves the crisis to Zhang Xuan after observing the younger cultivator enter the Azure. When they finally meet, he dissolves the captured clone with a flick of his finger. The distinction matters: the clone exists because of Kong shi's plan, but its attacks on Zhang Xuan and Little Chick are not orders issued by the original. The tenth God Monarch

Kong shi arrives in the Firmament roughly forty years before Zhang Xuan and first appears publicly around Twilight City. As a high-tier God, he defeats eight low-tier Celestial Gods and takes first place on the Aptitude God Board. Within a year he becomes a God King; during a Flood of Spiritual Energy, seven existing Monarchs confer him simultaneously, and he soon breaks through to God Monarch in the Flooding Sea. The result is an unprecedented tenth sovereign known as the Heaven Subjugation Monarch. (Chapters 2,108, 2,124, 2,256, and 2,263)

He establishes a Master Teacher Pavilion in the Firmament and again teaches without discrimination, accepting students whom other institutions rejected. The Nine Skies initially forbid the organization, so Kong shi challenges their rulers one after another to obtain recognition and legal space for the Pavilion. Across the following decades, eight Monarchs concede or acknowledge him. Those victories are both political and cultivational: recognition gives him access to the Anima of Yearning of their populations, expanding the power available to Heavens' Order. Kong shi's rise does not narrow him to combat. He forges hundreds of pinnacle God Essence Pills, earns recognition as a pill-forging maestro beyond the Firmament's established grandmasters, and continues to guide the Ten Apostles and Seventy-two Sages. His cane and scholarly bearing conceal a cultivator who can defeat sovereigns, while the educational network surrounding him remains the means by which those victories create lasting social influence. Meeting Zhang Xuan and the War of Heavens

The real Kong shi first meets Zhang Xuan in person after Little Chick restores his God Monarch power. Surrounded by Ancient Sage Zi Yuan, Ran Qiu, Bo Shang, Zi Gong, and the other disciples who ascended with him, Kong shi welcomes rather than suppresses the younger Celestial Master Teacher. He says that he observed Zhang Xuan's progress through the lower worlds and is pleased that the successor has shone more brightly than he did. He is not Zhang Xuan's formal teacher, however, and consistently treats the younger man's independent path as necessary. (Chapters 2,228–2,230)

Kong shi reveals that Heavens' Order, Zhang Xuan's Heavens' Imperfections, and the fragment associated with Luo Ruoxin must be reunited before their separation drains the Firmament and causes collapse. He proposes a War of Heavens in which the surviving bearer becomes overseer of the unified whole. He could have killed Zhang Xuan earlier but refuses because the younger fragment had not matured to God Monarch and forced fusion would have failed. Before going to battle, he instructs his disciples to follow Zhang Xuan if he dies and hints that Zhang Xuan's distinct path may offer an answer beyond simply choosing one heavenly fragment. Spring and Autumn and the third severing

On the moon, Kong shi fights Luo Ruoxin with a cane while still avoiding fatal blows. His final Spring and Autumn technique draws the versions of himself distributed along the river of time into the present, multiplying his force across history. Luo Ruoxin counters by sending her sword through those historical selves as well as the present one. Kong shi's body disintegrates and his soul appears to dissipate, but his relief at the moment of defeat indicates that the apparent destruction is an intended result rather than a failed bid for supremacy. The apparent death severs his Ego Necrophorus and completes a method taught by his own grandteacher, Lao shi. Benevolence had been removed into the Great Codex and malevolence into the clone; allowing Luo Ruoxin to erase the self frees the final attachment and lets Kong shi transcend Heavens' Order. The technique requires erasing his own knowledge of the plan so completely that even the heavens accepts the death as genuine. It is effectively a one-use opening: once exposed, the heavens closes the loophole against repetition. (Chapters 2,236–2,238)

Kong shi returns in time to help confront Vicious and the collapse of the Firmament. His preparation includes ensuring that Zhang Xuan can inherit deathless properties through the Deathless Monarch, allowing the younger cultivator to survive the sacrifice needed to transcend God Monarch realm. After Zhang Xuan reconstructs the world, Kong shi remains alive under the title Heaven Subjugation Monarch. He later sends three Monarch Origin Pills and two God Monarch swords as wedding gifts, confirming that his apparent annihilation on the moon did not become his final state. Appearance and personality

Most people first know Kong shi through statues: an elderly scholar with a flowing snowy beard, a scroll or cane, and the calm bearing of an ideal teacher. Residual wills can appear much younger, including a figure in his early twenties at the Saint Ascension Platform. The real man in the Firmament retains composed, compassionate eyes and an unassuming scholarly presence that does not advertise the force needed to challenge God Monarchs. Kong shi's public character combines patience, dignity, and educational idealism. He teaches students rejected by others, systematizes knowledge, and would rather create institutions than hoard individual techniques. In battle with Luo Ruoxin, he continues holding back from killing her even though his own existence is at stake. This benevolence is not passivity: he fights the Otherworldly Demonic Tribe, challenges eight sovereigns, and accepts that a heavenly war may require the dissolution of his soul. He is also a secretive, long-range planner. Severing the Three Necrophorus requires him to create an autonomous malevolent counterpart, erase his own memory, and let allies believe that he has died. Although he tries to seal the clone rather than unleash it, creating a separate being capable of escaping still proves dangerous to others. The method is ethically costly and difficult for outsiders to evaluate, but its aim is not personal rule alone: Kong shi prepares both Zhang Xuan and his disciples for a future in which his own plan fails. Abilities and cultivation

Celestial Master Teacher and Anima of Yearning

As a Celestial Master Teacher, Kong shi can earn acknowledgement from the heavens and evoke the recognition of teachers and students across generations. His teaching gathers Anima of Yearning, the collective faith and gratitude of those influenced by his path. Recognition by a Sky's ruler expands the population whose yearning he can access, explaining why he challenges the God Monarchs instead of relying on cultivation alone. The power depends on genuine recognition and a teaching legacy; it cannot simply be seized as an ordinary energy reserve. (Chapters 369, 395–397, 2,107–2,108, 2,137, and 2,263)

His educational arts include Impartation of Heaven's Will, the ability to diagnose and guide cultivators, and a mastery of numerous supporting occupations. He develops the Saint Ascension Decipher, organizes the Nine Paths, and reaches a pill-forging level capable of producing hundreds of pinnacle God Essence Pills. These skills amplify his influence and preparation, but even his inheritances are framed as foundations from which successors must form their own path. Heavens' Order

Kong shi carries Heavens' Order, one of the three fragments produced when the heavens of the Firmament shattered. It gives him authority over order and law and supports the overwhelming cultivation with which he becomes the tenth God Monarch. Joined with recognition from eight Skies, it lets him draw on vast Anima of Yearning and contend with the strongest sovereigns. The fragment is incomplete by itself: while the heavens remain divided, spiritual energy recedes and the entire world approaches collapse. (Chapters 2,229, 2,263, and 2,264)

Order is powerful precisely because it works through established laws, which also constrains it. Contradictory heavenly fragments can resist it, and altering laws carelessly destabilizes the world they regulate. Kong shi therefore seeks reunification rather than treating his fragment as an unlimited command, and ultimately severs his attachment to it so he can act beyond the role it imposed. Spring and Autumn

Spring and Autumn is Kong shi's ultimate time technique. It overlaps his present existence with every historical version of himself along the river of time, allowing the power accumulated across his life to strike together. The technique operates on more than local speed or time dilation: an opponent confronting it must answer the cultivator's existence across history. (Chapters 2,231–2,233)

Its structure creates a corresponding weakness. Luo Ruoxin's sword follows the same temporal connection and destroys each historical self, causing the present Kong shi to disintegrate. The attack would be fatal without the prepared Severing the Three Necrophorus method; Spring and Autumn therefore provides immense reach, not immunity from a technique that can target its full time axis. Severing the Three Necrophorus

This transcendent method separates the Benevolent, Malevolent, and Ego Necrophorus from the practitioner. Kong shi houses benevolence in the Great Codex, severs malevolence into an autonomous clone that he initially seals in the Ethereal Hall, and uses his defeat by Luo Ruoxin to sever ego. The separated bodies and erased memories fool the heavens into registering his destruction, freeing him from the fragment that previously defined him. (Chapters 2,236–2,238)

The technique requires decades of preparation, appropriate vessels, a fatal opponent, and total concealment even from the user. Kong shi must erase his memory so that his reactions remain authentic, and the clone can harm others while acting independently. Once the maneuver reveals the loophole, the heavens repairs it, preventing Kong shi or a successor from reproducing the same escape under identical conditions. (Chapters 2,228 and 2,236–2,238)

God Monarch combat and supporting arts

Kong shi rises from high-tier God to God King in less than a year, receives multiple conferments, and breaks through as the tenth God Monarch. He defeats or wins recognition from eight existing sovereigns, fights with a simple cane, and remains one of the few cultivators capable of matching Luo Ruoxin directly. His strength combines heavenly authority, Anima of Yearning, time arts, and an unusually broad cultivation foundation rather than depending on a single weapon. He is not unconditionally supreme. Luo Ruoxin can defeat Spring and Autumn, the divided heavens cannot be repaired through his power alone, and Vicious after absorbing the malignant energy threatens every God Monarch. Kong shi's greatest advantage is preparation: pill forging, teaching networks, the Great Codex, the Deathless Monarch, and Zhang Xuan's independent path all become parts of a solution that direct combat cannot supply.
