Mihailov

Mihailov is a veteran RIL soldier and the guardian of Sophia Vorkova. His early hostility toward Yeorum and Yu Jitae gives way to practical cooperation when Sophia and Yeorum join the same dungeon team, after which he repeatedly appears as a protective trainer and outspoken guardian. Biography

Conflict over Sophia

Mihailov intervenes after Yeorum brutally defeats Sophia during the Azure Dragon study-group interview, shoving Yeorum away and demanding an apology while first-aid staff treat his cadet. His anger escalates into a brief exchange of blows and a tense disciplinary meeting. Yu Jitae exposes his inability to control Sophia and effortlessly takes his dagger, forcing Mihailov to recognize a dangerous difference in strength and withdraw the condescension with which he had approached the dispute. Cooperation around the Losties

When Yeorum, Sophia, Soujiro, and Kim Ji-in form a team, Mihailov joins Yu Jitae in planning and supervising their B+ dungeon preparation. He lets the cadets build their own strategy before teaching their roles, arranges munitions and rest, and immediately helps replace defective protective necklaces rather than preserve institutional appearances. During the raid, he defends the team's unconventional decisions before other guardians, showing that his protectiveness can support the cadets' judgment instead of merely controlling it. Mihailov later remains an accessible guardian contact and crosses paths with the Yu household at school events. During Kaeul's transcendent-cadet examination, he confronts Kitty Brzenk's disguised provocations, taunts her when Kaeul performs well, and willingly tests her defensive spell with an emergency axe despite the backlash injuring him. The encounter reinforces his blunt, combative loyalty to cadets targeted by arrogant adults. (Chapters 153, 180, 226–230)

Appearance and personality

Mihailov is a very tall, heavily built, middle-aged man with close-cropped hair, a moustache, and a long, vicious-looking scar across his forehead. His face can look frightening even when he smiles, and his size and military presence make his anger especially imposing. (Chapters 103, 113, 120, 226–228)

He is hot-tempered, proud of RIL, protective toward Sophia, and quick to answer provocation with threats or force. He is also practical, willing to admit danger, and attentive to the cadets' preparation. His taste for vodka and gleeful taunting of Kitty reveal a mischievous streak beneath the severe guardian persona. (Chapters 15–16, 112–114, 122, 227–229)

Powers and abilities

Mana and combat pressure

Mihailov can release killing intent and mana intense enough to shake the air and oppress the surrounding dimension. He has the speed and strength to intervene in superhuman clashes, and his background as a longtime RIL soldier supports his ability to train cadets in formations, dungeon roles, equipment, and field procedure. These strengths do not place him near Yu Jitae, who bypasses his awareness and overwhelms his confidence without a direct fight. (Chapters 15–16, 112–114, 227)

Inner shield

An inner shield spell automatically reacts when hostile mana travels into Mihailov's body. It blocks part of the defensive backlash released when he strikes Kitty Brzenk's wrist, but it does not prevent sharp mana from damaging his insides before he raises his own mana in response. The technique is therefore a partial safeguard rather than immunity. (Chapter 229)

Relationships

• Sophia Vorkova: Mihailov is Sophia's guardian and reacts fiercely when she is injured. He later helps her form and prepare a team with former rival Yeorum, balancing personal protectiveness with the practical needs of her development. (Chapters 15–16, 103, 112–122, 180)
• Yu Jitae: Their relationship begins with a humiliating confrontation for Mihailov, but develops into professional cooperation. Items

Dagger

Mihailov carries a dagger in an artifact sheath enchanted with cleansing magic. After the interview clash, Yu Jitae removes it without Mihailov noticing and wipes Yeorum's remaining blood from the blade before returning it, a gesture that makes Mihailov reassess the threat in front of him. (Chapter 16)

Protective necklace

Mihailov obtains protective necklaces for the Losties and demonstrates the precise button sequence needed to stabilize one around the neck. When Yu Jitae detects sabotaged gems, Mihailov helps confront the munitions department and secures authentic replacements before the raid. (Chapter 114)

Emergency fire axe

Mihailov takes an emergency fire axe during Kaeul's examination and uses it to test Kitty Brzenk's defensive magic. The axe itself fails to cut her wrist, while the spell's mana backlash penetrates Mihailov's hand and injures his insides. (Chapter 229)
