Wang Youcai

Wang Youcai is one of the four youths taken from Mount Daqing to the Reliance Sect. His severe path through cultivation turns him into a taciturn, formidable fighter and one of the longest-surviving members of Meng Hao's original circle.

Biography

From Mount Daqing to the Blood Demon Sect

Wang Youcai is one of the four youths carried from Mount Daqing into the Reliance Sect. He protects the younger Little Tiger in the servants' quarter and is later believed dead after a fall from a cliff. The report is false: Wang survives and eventually enters the Blood Demon Sect, but the experience begins a pattern in which pain, isolation, and apparent death become parts of his cultivation. He reappears as the grim young Blood Demon disciple competing in the Blood Immortal Legacy. He advances with a human-shaped Blood Divinity and later attends the Song Clan gathering, where he pretends not to recognize Fatty and avoids Meng Hao's gaze. The distance reflects the severe path he has chosen, not loss of memory; he watches Meng Hao's World Tree achievement with private admiration. (Chapters 120–199)

Blood Demon disciple and self-tempering

Wang's later experiences at Moonset Lake and within the Blood Demon Sect harden his cultivation into deliberate self-punishment. When Meng Hao becomes Blood Prince, Wang Youcai guards outside his valley rather than contesting authority. His loyalty is quiet: he does not seek proximity or rewards, but remains when others leave and listens as Patriarch Blood Demon recounts Meng Hao's life to the sect. He enters the Three Great Daoist Societies' trial under the name Wang Wu'de and continues building body, divine sense, and killing will through extreme ordeals. Over time he becomes one of the Mountain and Sea Realm's important Chosen and later an Imperial Lord, fighting in the Thirty-Three Hells and returning with the surviving experts to join the war. His rise is not based on a single inherited fortune; it is the accumulated result of refusing relief from hardship. (Chapters 841–888, 957, 982, 1114, 1202–1203, 1340–1376, 1378–1409)

Mountain and Sea veteran

Allheaven reproduces Wang Youcai as a soul-projection in the false world surrounding the Arcane Pocket Realm, using one of Meng Hao's oldest friends to deny the reality of the Mountain and Sea past. The real Wang spends two thousand years in the Butterfly tormenting flesh, divine sense, and mind until countless younger cultivators venerate him. Meng Hao's return breaks his habitual grimness and makes him laugh openly. (Chapters 1507–1509, 1544)

During the revenge campaign Wang kills Outsiders with his sword and strings their severed heads into a dreadful procession. The brutality reflects millennia of unresolved grief rather than casual cruelty. He greets Meng Hao with visible joy, fights the Ninth Sea's beasts, and witnesses the restoration of the Mountains and Seas. He lives longer than most original survivors before his soul seed enters Meng Hao's renewed reincarnation cycle; reborn as a rogue cultivator, he again fights his way to fame with Dong Hu as his younger brother. Appearance and personality

Wang Youcai grows from a village youth into a lean, grim cultivator with an antisocial aura and an expression that rarely softens. In later war he is visually defined by his sword and the severed heads trailing behind him.

He is austere, loyal, self-punishing, and sparing with emotion. Early kindness toward Little Tiger survives beneath the coldness of his later path. Wang does not express friendship through conversation; he guards, returns to battle, and continues carrying shared memories after nearly everyone who made them is gone. Because smiles and laughter are so rare, his joy at Meng Hao's return conveys more than a long speech could.

Abilities and cultivation

Integrated self-tempering

Wang deliberately torments fleshly body, divine sense, and mind together. Pain and exhaustion remove weakness across all three rather than advancing only spiritual cultivation. The method continuously raises battle prowess but exacts an extreme cost. (Chapter 1544)

Blood Divinity

In the Blood Immortal Legacy he commands a human-shaped Blood Divinity through successive matrices. It supports combat and progression but is vulnerable to the Legacy's stronger blood creatures. (Chapters 120–130)

Sword cultivation

His later fighting centers on a sword backed by intense murderous will. During the revenge campaign it kills Outsiders rapidly enough for him to gather a procession of heads, turning individual strikes into psychological warfare. (Chapter 1552)

Imperial Lord cultivation

By the final war he is counted among newly advanced Imperial Lords. He remains below ancient Imperial Lords awakened by the great sects but can engage elite Outsiders. (Chapters 1386–1395)

Will and survival

He survives apparent death, sect ordeals, the Thirty-Three Hells, the Realm's destruction, and two millennia of training. This persistence is his defining advantage.
