Li Fugui
Li Fugui, almost universally called Fatty, is Meng Hao’s earliest cultivation companion and one of his most loyal friends.
Biography
State of Zhao and the Reliance Sect
Fatty is abducted with Meng Hao to the Reliance Sect, enters the Outer Sect, and survives through cunning, toughness, and unusually formidable teeth. He becomes Meng Hao’s roommate and business partner and follows him loyally until the Reliance Sect dissolves, when the Golden Frost Sect takes him as a prized disciple. (Chapters 1–43)
At the Song Clan gathering, Fatty joyfully reunites with Meng Hao, loudly exposes him as the man seen with Chu Yuyan, and immediately stands beside him against his enemies. Protected by powerful Golden Frost elders, he joins the World Tree trial. (Chapters 187–195)
Years later he attends the Violet Fate Pill Auction, bids extravagantly, and competes for the Bedevilment Pill. During Grandmaster Eternal Mountain’s challenge, Fatty crushes every pill until Fang Mu gives him a meat-jelly-based pill filled with a flavor he hates: intense spiciness. His failure and Fang Mu’s knowledge of that private weakness make him suspect that the alchemist is Meng Hao. (Chapters 230–240)
He later watches the Violet Furnace Lord trial. The revelation that Fang Mu is Grandmaster Pill Cauldron confirms that his old friend has become Pill Demon’s Legacy Apprentice. (Chapters 278–292)
Southern Domain War and Dao Seeking
Fatty becomes violently irritable on the day Meng Hao's aura vanishes, sensing the apparent death of his oldest companion even before he can verify it. When Meng Hao later needs the Soul Birth Pill delivered into the lethal Rebirth Cave to save Xu Qing, Fatty accepts the task. He exhausts a large cache of life-saving treasures and medicinal pills, nearly dies, and still reaches Meng Hao with the pill. His loyalty is therefore demonstrated through a costly choice, not merely asserted by the Ancient Road test that later examines it. (Chapters 683 and 691)
He remains with the Southern Domain survivors as war approaches and is alarmed by the frightening change in Meng Hao after Dao Seeking. Fatty nevertheless confronts and recognizes him rather than keeping a safe distance, preserving the irreverent equality of their earliest friendship. (Chapters 733 and 783)
The Wider Ninth Mountain and Sea
Fatty participates in the Three Great Daoist Societies' Nascent Soul Ancient Road. During enlightenment, his appetite becomes the basis of a Dao: he consumes magical fungi and even a stump, then manifests a ten-thousand-meter mouth whose razor-like teeth bite through everything before it. The path raises thirteen stone steles, second only to Sir Fan's result, and the Paleo-Immortal Mausoleum recognizes the ability as Gulping Down Heaven. Its emissary recruits him while accommodating the concubines he refuses to abandon. His loyalty test likewise produces an extreme display of devotion that astonishes the observing Patriarchs, confirming that his comic appetites and commitments are inseparable from his cultivation. (Chapters 841–852)
After the arena matches, he is taken into the Paleo-Immortal Mausoleum. The master who accompanies him back to South Heaven is rendered speechless by Fatty's household of more than a hundred concubines. He later appears among the friends and teachers observing Meng Hao's Immortal ascension. (Chapters 881–882) (Chapter 982)
Nine Seas and the Windswept Realm
Fatty is seen during Meng Hao’s panoramic mental journey across the Nine Mountains and Seas and appears again late in the volume. These remote appearances confirm that Meng Hao’s oldest cultivation companion remains alive beyond South Heaven. (Chapter 1114), (Chapter 1202)
Meng Clan and the Mountain and Sea War
Fatty appears among the named friends and defenders who answer the Mountain and Sea Realm’s war. He gathers with Meng Hao’s companions during the fighting around Planet South Heaven and remains through the exodus, the World-Butterfly’s flight, and the final declaration of loyalty to their lost Realm. (Chapters 1338, 1380, 1386–1390, 1392–1393, 1396, 1404–1405 and 1409)
Vast Expanse and Transcendence
Allheaven first weaponizes Fatty's image as a soul-projection intended to trap Meng Hao in doubt. That projection belongs to the imposed illusion and is distinct from the surviving Li Fugui. Ke Yunhai's rejection of the false world helps Meng Hao break through the deception. (Chapters 1509–1510)
The real Fatty later joins the Mountain and Sea survivors gathered for the final war. He reunites with Meng Hao in person, fights in the vengeance campaign against the 33 Heavens, and remains his irreverent but loyal earliest companion through the conclusion of the supplied text. (Chapters 1544–1557)
Beyond Allheaven
After the cursed epoch and reincarnation, Meng Hao finds Li Fugui living again as the familiar Fatty, with his unabashed pursuit of Daoist partners intact. (Chapter 1611)
Appearance and personality
Fatty is short, increasingly round, loud, earthy, cheerful, and shamelessly direct. He flaunts wealth, seeks female cultivators, and values face enough to keep biting a painfully spicy pill. Beneath the comedy, his loyalty to Meng Hao is immediate and sincere.
Abilities and cultivation
Cultivation progression
The Golden Frost Sect supplies Fatty with enough resources to reach Foundation Establishment despite his limited interest in formal study. He later enters the Nascent Soul Ancient Road and turns appetite and physical inheritance into an acknowledged Dao, earning recruitment by the Paleo-Immortal Mausoleum. His advancement is strongly supported by sect resources, treasures, and his bloodline; the text does not present him as a technical scholar comparable to Chen Fan or an alchemist comparable to Chu Yuyan. (Chapters 191–192, 231 and 841–852)
Ever-growing teeth
Fatty's teeth grow so quickly that he grinds them down with a flying sword, yet they become harder as his cultivation rises. He can chew Spirit Stones, damage magical weapons, and crush most medicinal pills, making his mouth both an unusual weapon and a practical test of material resilience. The ability has sensory limits: Fang Mu defeats it with a meat-jelly pill whose shell survives four bites and whose intense spiciness makes Fatty stop, demonstrating that exceptional durability and an aversive payload can overcome brute chewing power. (Chapters 191 and 230–240)
Gulping Down Heaven
On the Ancient Road, Fatty expands his natural appetite into a cultivation art. Enlightenment creates a ten-thousand-meter mouth lined with sharp teeth, allowing him to consume spiritual plants and bite at the world around him on a vastly larger scale than his ordinary jaw. The thirteen stone steles produced by the vision measure the Dao's promise, and the Paleo-Immortal Mausoleum names and claims the inheritance. Gulping Down Heaven is thus the developed form of his bloodline tendency, not evidence that his normal teeth can literally destroy every substance without resistance. (Chapter 851)
Bloodline and sect protection
Golden Frost elders treat Fatty as a Little Patriarch and arrange partners in the hope of propagating his unusual bloodline. Their protection gives him access to cultivation resources and numerous life-saving items, but it also makes his reproductive future a sect concern. Fatty later spends much of that external protection crossing the Rebirth Cave, showing that treasures can absorb danger only until their stored power is exhausted. (Chapters 191–192, 231 and 691)
