Wang Mu

Wang Mu is a Wang Clan Prince whose ambition drives him to challenge the strongest figures of his generation. Defeat by Meng Hao does not remove that ambition; it redirects it toward true Immortality, mastery of difficult ancestral arts, and rivalry within the Wang bloodline itself.

Biography

Immortal Ancient Daoist Rite Temple

Wang Mu arrives above Planet South Heaven with the great outside factions. His reputation includes energy inherited from the Wang Clan patriarch and the ability to force the clan's ancient sword spirit to submit. At the Immortal Ancient Daoist Rite temple, however, rank does not guarantee access. Meng Hao occupies the grounds and repeatedly uses Form Displacement Transposition to switch visitors away whenever they approach the gate. (Chapters 810–818)

Wang Mu rotates his cultivation defensively when Meng Hao looks toward him, but Meng Hao initially chooses other victims. Later, Meng Hao exchanges positions with Wang Mu at the exact moment a powerful Dao Protector attacks, making Wang Mu absorb the collision and join the resulting pursuit. The humiliation is tactical rather than a clean duel, leaving Wang Mu even more determined to test himself directly. (Chapters 818–825)

When Meng Hao publicly challenges selected Chosen but does not name him, Wang Mu interprets the omission as an insult and attacks. He calls wind and rain into black dragons, halts Meng Hao's Star Plucking hand with a finger, and follows with extermination power. Meng Hao accepts the attack to land a stronger blow, shatters Wang Mu's shoulder, withers his body, and punches him into the ground before taking his bag of holding. Wang Mu loses, but continues trying to rise even after severe injury. (Chapter 827)

East Ascension and true-Immortal rivalry

Wang Mu later attends the Fang Clan's East Ascension Sun. He joins Song Luodan and Taiyang Zi in fighting Meng Hao over their claimed debts and remains among the upper tier of the trial, reaching 162,000 meters with a jade slip that dispels darkness. Meng Hao's higher ascent produces a profound sense of defeat, yet Wang Mu responds by promising that their coming true-Immortal ascensions will give him another chance to surpass him. After opening his true-Immortal path, Wang Mu joins six leading Chosen in attacking Meng Hao. His role is essential to their combined plan: he sacrifices soul and life force to use the Wang Clan Immobilization, suspending Meng Hao as if time has stopped so the others can release their strongest attacks. He immediately follows with the Wang Patriarch Finger despite the weakness caused by the restraint. (Chapters 984–987)

Meng Hao breaks free and defeats the coalition. He also binds Wang Mu and the other attackers through karmic debt, converting their failed challenge into an obligation they cannot ignore. The battle confirms Wang Mu as an elite true Immortal—his restraint genuinely stops Meng Hao—but also establishes the cost and temporary nature of his strongest art against an unprecedented 123-meridian foundation. Wang Clan instruction and withdrawal

Years later, Wang Mu cultivates in a restricted bamboo forest opposite an ancient, disreputable-looking teacher. He declares that his immediate goal is to defeat Wang Tengfei, showing that his ambition is not defined solely by Meng Hao; supremacy within the Wang bloodline remains an independent measure. The teacher's connection to ancient Wang history offers guidance unavailable to ordinary clan heirs. (Chapters 1206–1207)

During the Mountain and Sea War, the Wang Clan chooses withdrawal over the realm's final defense. Wang Mu attempts to resist that decision and join the fighting. His teacher overrides him, knocks him unconscious, and prevents his departure. His last direct scene is therefore not voluntary abandonment: he wants to fight but lacks the power to defy the ancient authority controlling the clan's survival strategy. (Chapter 1384)

Appearance and personality

Wang Mu is a young man with sword-like eyebrows and eyes compared to stars. He carries the bearing of a Clan Prince and an intense fighting spirit that becomes visible whenever a worthy opponent appears.

He is proud, resilient, and almost compulsively competitive. Humiliation makes him seek a cleaner contest; defeat makes him prepare for the next realm. This persistence can become reckless, but his attempt to reject the Wang Clan's retreat shows that it is not merely personal vanity—he is willing to place himself in a losing war when he believes his realm requires defense.

Abilities and cultivation

True-Immortal foundation

Wang Mu rises during the once-in-ten-thousand-years true-Immortal era and becomes one of six leading newly ascended Chosen. His foundation supports difficult ancestral arts and allows him to attack Meng Hao in the starry sky. It remains below Meng Hao's 123 meridians and true-Immortal body, so coalition tactics are necessary. (Chapters 957–990)

Wang Clan Immobilization

Murky light at Wang Mu's fingertip draws in his soul and life force, spreading ripples until space and motion stop around the target. The result differs from bodily paralysis: Meng Hao is suspended as if frozen in eternity, giving allied attacks a genuine opening. The technique is extraordinarily difficult to master and exacts immediate weakening because its fuel is Wang Mu's own essence. A target with Meng Hao's foundation can eventually break it, so the restraint is costly and temporary rather than absolute. (Chapter 987)

Wang Patriarch Finger

After Immobilization, Wang Mu summons a gigantic illusory finger carrying ancestral Wang power and enough destructive force to make the surrounding starry sky seem ready to turn to ash. Using it while already depleted demonstrates compatibility with the clan inheritance, but the combined strike still fails once Meng Hao breaks the restraint. (Chapters 987–990)

Wind, rain, and black dragons

At the Daoist Rite temple, double-handed incantations call wind and rain and combine them into roaring black dragons. The attack controls a broad area and leads into his extermination finger, but Meng Hao can endure the hit in order to close distance and exploit superior physical force. (Chapter 827)

Stopping and extermination fingers

Before true Immortality, one pointed finger halts Meng Hao's Star Plucking manifestation; a second releases concentrated extermination will. These applications foreshadow the later Immobilization and Patriarch Finger but are not shown to have the same life-force cost or time-suspension effect. (Chapter 827)

East Ascension jade

His jade slip dispels the darkness surrounding him during the East Ascension Sun trial and helps him climb to 162,000 meters. The height measures elite preparation and endurance, while the light-clearing effect belongs to the item rather than his body. (Chapter 935)
