Qian Shuihen

Qian Shuihen is a Violet Qi Division disciple whose ruinous purchase of Meng Hao’s ordinary iron spear becomes a sect-wide cautionary tale. He progresses from an impulsive trial participant to a Core Formation Honor Guard responsible for protecting the very spear that once humiliated him.

Biography

The purchase in Eastern Refinement City

Qian Shuihen enters Eccentric Song’s Spirit Beast trial alongside Lu Song. When Meng Hao produces an ordinary iron spear and allows prestigious outsiders to assume it came from Patriarch Reliance, Qian and Lu compete to own it. Their rivalry drives the price upward; both borrow heavily, and the eventual purchase leaves them in debt. (Chapters 50–56)

Wu Dingqiu’s later rage confirms that the spear has no extraordinary power. Qian spends years repaying what he borrowed while the Violet Fate Sect installs the weapon as a public warning against greed. The fraud injures more than his finances: his name becomes tied to a story every younger disciple hears, making Meng Hao a personal taboo. (Chapter 57)

Repeated encounters with Meng Hao

At the Song Clan gathering, Qian and Lu encounter Meng Hao again. The old anger survives, but Meng Hao’s Foundation Establishment power and growing fame make direct retaliation unrealistic. When the quiet apprentice Fang Mu later stands beside Bai Yunlai near the displayed spear, Qian orders the junior away for lingering around the memorial. He does not realize that Fang Mu is the same Meng Hao whose deception the display records. (Chapters 188–197 and 211)

That failure of recognition continues the irony of the spear: Qian understands the event as a fixed lesson from the past, while Meng Hao has already reentered his sect under a new identity and risen through the East Pill Division. Other later references connect Qian to the shared grievance and the social memory around it rather than showing a successful revenge. (Chapters 215 and 223)

Honor Guard

By Meng Hao’s return in Chapter 759, Qian has reached Core Formation and serves in the Violet Fate Honor Guard with Lu Song. The two tend the displayed spear with solemn pride. Instead of demanding repayment, Qian promises the returning Meng Hao that the relic will be protected. The response shows a completed reversal: an embarrassment once associated with poverty has become proof that his generation personally encountered a legendary sect figure.

Appearance and personality

Qian Shuihen is grim, proud, and sensitive to ridicule. His early greed is intensified by competition with Lu Song; neither wants the other to possess the supposed treasure. He later becomes disciplined enough to hold an Honor Guard office, and his relationship to the spear matures from anger into institutional pride.

Cultivation progression

Qian begins as a younger Violet Qi disciple qualified for dangerous trials and later reaches Core Formation. The supplied scenes do not name his Dao Pillars, Core type, or combat techniques, so the clearest confirmed progression is the realm increase and associated status.

Honor Guard authority

As an Honor Guard, Qian protects significant sect locations and ceremonial objects. He can order junior disciples such as Bai Yunlai away from restricted displays and is entrusted with representing the Violet Qi Division before returning elders. This authority derives from office and cultivation rather than a supernatural ability.

Trial experience

He survives Eccentric Song’s dangerous gathering and later attends major Southern Domain events. These experiences imply practical competence, but no scene isolates a signature weapon or attack that can be described mechanically.

Financial and political limits

The spear episode exposes a non-combat weakness: Qian can be manipulated through prestige, scarcity, and rivalry. Borrowed wealth expands his purchasing power but leaves years of debt when judgment fails, demonstrating that status resources are not equivalent to personal strength.
