Liu Daoyun
Liu Daoyun is a Cold Wind Sect disciple whose pursuit of Meng Hao is driven by greed for a supposedly valuable silver spear. He repeatedly uses other cultivators to exhaust his target, then dies when Lord Revelation forces the dispute into a direct settlement.
Biography
The false treasure
Liu leads an aerial ambush and focuses immediately on Meng Hao's silver spear. After Yan Ziguo dies, he burns away mist beasts with a flame banner and lets Winding Stream disciples spend their strength before attacking with a crystalline sword and Cold Wind Finger. He badly wounds Meng Hao, but abandons the pursuit to compete for the spear and kills Sun Hua—only to discover ordinary silver. (Chapters 61–64)
The mistake does not end his obsession. Liu later resumes pursuit and intends to kill Meng Hao despite a sect order favoring capture. When Lord Revelation arrives, Liu reports the alleged treasure to his Patriarch, hoping senior authority will vindicate him. Instead, Meng Hao names Liu as the person he wants in a negotiated confrontation, and Lord Revelation compels him to disgorge payment and fight. (Chapters 76–78)
Public death
Liu taunts Meng Hao about poison and betrayal, expecting elders to intervene if the battle turns. Meng Hao removes one arm, repeatedly wounds him, and exposes that institutional confidence as false. Liu begs the Cold Wind elders for rescue, but the agreement holds. Meng Hao cuts off the remaining arm, impales him with multiple swords, and detonates them. (Chapters 79–80)
Appearance and personality
Liu is a middle-aged man in a sky-blue Daoist robe. He is calculating, greedy, and condescending, preferring to strike after others have consumed an opponent's strength. Confidence becomes pleading once sect protection is withdrawn.
Abilities and cultivation
Ninth-level Qi Condensation
His recent ninth-level cultivation makes Foundation Establishment plausible and permits temporary sword flight. It gives a genuine numerical advantage over early Meng Hao, but lacks the stability and resources of the next realm.
Flame banner
The banner releases flame capable of destroying summoned mist beasts, providing area clearing and a counter to obscuring constructs. It does not stop Meng Hao directly.
Crystalline sword and Cold Wind Finger
The flying sword supplies ranged pursuit and cutting pressure. Cold Wind Finger adds concentrated frigid force and helps severely injure an already exhausted target. Neither technique prevents reversal once Meng Hao receives room for a direct fight.
