Sun Hua — I Shall Seal the Heavens

Sun Hua is a wealthy Winding Stream Sect disciple whose fixation on Patriarch Reliance’s supposed treasure leads him to pursue Meng Hao. He survives one fraudulent spear sale only to die trusting a second ordinary spear to block Liu Daoyun’s Cold Wind Finger.

Biography

Sun Hua leads a group of State of Zhao disciples who surround Meng Hao and demand to inspect the treasure supposedly bestowed by Patriarch Reliance. His attention is driven less by sect investigation than by the possibility of owning or profiting from a unique inheritance. When prestigious Violet Fate disciples arrive, Sun tries to welcome them, but they ignore his status and approach Meng Hao’s iron spear instead. (Chapters 54–55)

The enormous offers of pills, spirit stones, and magical items convince Sun that the spear must be genuine. He watches Lu Song and Qian Shuihen complete the ruinous purchase, then pursues Meng Hao in hopes of taking a share of the proceeds. The Milky Way Fan is too fast for him. Wu Dingqiu’s distant roar later reveals that the spear was ordinary, but Sun learns only that this particular object was false—not that rumor and greed have made his judgment unreliable. Tracking Meng Hao

Sun later uses Death Qi and information from another disciple to identify Meng Hao as Patriarch Reliance’s heir. He joins the Winding Stream pursuit on foot, expecting the fleeing cultivator to carry a real treasure even after the first fraud. A Death Qi-absorbing pearl helps the group follow the trail, turning spiritual residue into a tracking method. (Chapters 60–63)

When Meng Hao discards a silver spear, Sun concludes that the true inheritance has finally appeared. He races Liu Daoyun for it and obtains the weapon. Rather than test the silver or evade the incoming Cold Wind Finger, he raises the spear as an absolute defense. It shatters on contact because it is ordinary, and the technique kills him. His death is the direct consequence of treating possession of a reputed treasure as proof of safety. (Chapter 64)

Appearance and personality

Sun Hua wears expensive clothing and carries a folding fan, projecting the image of a refined, well-connected young cultivator. He is proud, eager to impress higher-status disciples, and intensely acquisitive. His central flaw is confirmation bias: every new rumor is interpreted as proof that the treasure he wants must exist.

Abilities and cultivation

Seventh-level Qi Condensation

Sun has reached the seventh level, giving him cultivation superior to ordinary mortals and many Outer Sect disciples. He remains slower than Meng Hao’s Milky Way Fan and cannot withstand Liu Daoyun’s stronger Cold Wind Finger.

Sword aura

He can produce or direct sword aura during confrontations. The supplied scenes do not establish a named sword manual or a decisive victory achieved with it, so its demonstrated level remains ordinary for his realm.

Death Qi tracking

A pearl absorbs or responds to Death Qi, allowing Sun’s group to trace Meng Hao’s path. The method depends on detectable residue and a carried item; it is not perfect omnidirectional perception.

Sun can lead junior disciples, obtain information, and present himself before prestigious sect members. These advantages expand his reach but do not compensate for poor appraisal or the cultivation gap against stronger rivals.
