Li Clan Patriarch
The Li Clan Patriarch, whose true name is Li Xuefeng, is an ancient Li Clan cultivator reduced to a discarnate soul and ultimately enslaved within Meng Hao’s Blood Immortal mask.
Biography
Blood Immortal Legacy
Li Xuefeng was a Li Clan patriarch thousands of years before the Blood Immortal Legacy contest. By the time of the eighth opening, he survives as a discarnate soul capable of acting through the clan's Blood Divinity arrangements. He possesses Li Daoyi's Blood Slave, takes on forms including a statue and Blood Dragon, and turns the sixth matrix against rival candidates. His intervention is meant to secure the inheritance for the Li Clan, not to help the Blood Slave develop an identity of its own. (Chapters 129–131)
Meng Hao and the Blood Mastiff overcome him as the Legacy reaches its conclusion. When Meng Hao gains the Blood Immortal mask, Li Xuefeng is trapped inside it and bound to the new owner's authority. The defeat reverses his intended relationship to the inheritance: instead of using the Blood Divinity to advance his clan, he becomes a captive soul stored in the successful rival's treasure. (Chapters 132–138)
Captivity in the blood mask
Inside the mask, Li Xuefeng remains proud and resentful but cannot freely refuse Meng Hao. The Meat Jelly subjects him to relentless moral lectures intended to reform him, a form of torment particularly effective against his impatience and secrecy. Meng Hao extracts historical knowledge and assistance when needed, while Li Xuefeng looks for relief rather than developing genuine loyalty. The arrival of other captives briefly diverts the Meat Jelly's attention but does not release him. (Chapters 143, 177–178 and 206)
He eventually identifies himself as Li Xuefeng and claims to have been a Li Clan patriarch seven thousand years earlier. His old clan knowledge has practical value: when Meng Hao demands the Li Clan Conclave technique, Li Xuefeng brands the Self Will Incantation onto a jade slip. The transfer shows that a discarnate senior can preserve techniques in memory and transmit them, but only under coercion in his case. (Chapters 206 and 228)
Black Lands, Crow Divinity, and the Demon Immortal Sect
Meng Hao later uses Li Xuefeng as the core of an extreme lightning refinement. He throws the soul into Tribulation Lightning, pulls it back before destruction, heals it with the blood mask's resources, and repeats the cycle. Each exposure increases the soul's compatibility and resistance, gradually turning it into a Soul of Lightning that can absorb bolts and serve as a living shield. The process is cultivation through forced damage and recovery, not an innate Li Clan inheritance. (Chapters 326–354)
During Meng Hao's late-Gold-Core Tribulation, Li Xuefeng is ordered into increasingly destructive lightning. His refined soul can swallow or divert power that would otherwise strike Meng Hao, but its capacity remains finite. The final defense nearly destroys him, demonstrating that resistance gained from earlier bolts is specific and cumulative rather than immunity to heavenly tribulation. His service throughout this arc is compelled by the mask; usefulness should not be mistaken for reconciliation with his captor. (Chapters 383–387)
Appearance and personality
Li Xuefeng has no stable living body in the supplied narrative. He appears through a possessed Blood Slave, a statue-like guardian, a Blood Dragon manifestation, and finally the exposed form of a discarnate soul within the mask. Lightning refinement further changes that soul, saturating it with tribulation power rather than restoring ordinary flesh. (Chapters 129–138 and 326–387)
He is proud, secretive, resentful, and opportunistic. He intervenes ruthlessly for Li Clan advantage, then resists giving Meng Hao anything that is not forced from him. Repeated lectures from the Meat Jelly reduce that resistance to exhausted compliance, while lightning refinement replaces verbal humiliation with fear of annihilation. Nothing in the supplied chapters establishes a voluntary conversion into Meng Hao's loyal servant. (Chapters 129–143, 177–228 and 326–387)
Abilities and cultivation
Discarnate-soul survival
Li Xuefeng persists for millennia without an ordinary body and retains identity, memory, and cultivation knowledge. That state allows possession and storage in the blood mask, but also makes him vulnerable to binding, soul damage, and forced refinement. (Chapters 129–138 and 206)
Blood Divinity possession
He can enter and control Li Daoyi's Blood Slave, manifesting guardian and Blood Dragon forms inside the Legacy matrices. The power depends on the Blood Immortal contest's Blood Divinity framework and is ultimately overcome by Meng Hao and the Blood Mastiff. (Chapters 129–138)
Li Clan inheritance knowledge
As an ancient patriarch he remembers clan history and the Self Will Incantation. He can imprint the incantation onto jade for another cultivator, but possession of its formula does not mean every later use by Meng Hao is Li Xuefeng acting through him. (Chapters 206 and 228)
Soul of Lightning refinement
Repeated cycles of tribulation exposure and healing let his soul absorb progressively stronger lightning. The technique is imposed by Meng Hao and requires both destructive bolts and a means of repairing the soul between them. Excessive power still threatens permanent dissolution. (Chapters 326–387)
Lightning shielding
Once refined, Li Xuefeng can be released to intercept or consume Tribulation Lightning on command. This protects Meng Hao at the captive's expense and works only until the soul reaches its endurance limit. (Chapters 383–387)
