Hanxue Zong's Nascent Soul Escort
Hanxue Zong's Nascent Soul Escort is the unnamed Western Desert expert whose presence gives the Five Moons delegation a direct military threat during its visit to Holy Snow City.
Biography
Silent pressure at the alchemy challenge
The escort arrives with Hanxue Zong and Yan Song wearing an inky-green robe. His great-circle late Nascent Soul aura exceeds that of any one of the four Frigid Snow Clan Grand Elders, forcing the city to treat the delegation as more than a diplomatic party. He remains silent through the alchemy contest and watches Zhou Dekun, allowing Hanxue Zong to negotiate while his cultivation supplies unspoken pressure. (Chapters 361 and 363–364)
Attempted seizure and retreat
Once Zhou Dekun's supposed brilliance convinces the visitors to abduct him, the escort is the first to move. The four Grand Elders intercept him and erect a shield around Zhou. Hanxue Zong—not the escort—breaks that shield and sweeps the elders aside, while the escort redirects his attention toward Meng Hao after Zhou claims that Meng is the true Grandmaster. Meng Hao evades with the Bloodburst Flash, and Hanxue Zong decides that acquiring Zhou is sufficient, ordering his companion not to create further trouble. (Chapter 365)
As the party prepares to leave, Hanxue Bao's voice and power shake Holy Snow City. The escort coughs blood and reacts with astonishment, then joins the delegation's teleportation retreat. The scene demonstrates both his usefulness and his limit: he can threaten the city's Nascent Soul defenders, but the hidden Spirit Severing Patriarch compels immediate withdrawal without a direct battle. (Chapter 365)
Appearance and personality
He is an old man in an inky-green robe, with lightning-like eyes, a cold and haughty expression, and an oppressive cultivation aura. He speaks no recorded dialogue. His conduct is disciplined and subordinate to the mission: he watches, attacks when the delegation decides to seize an alchemist, checks his pursuit when Hanxue Zong gives the order, and retreats when a superior power intervenes.
Abilities and cultivation
The escort is a great-circle late Nascent Soul cultivator, but the corpus gives him no named personal technique.
Suppressive cultivation pressure
His aura alone makes clear that the four Grand Elders cannot compare to him individually, strengthening Hanxue Zong's bargaining position. This is a difference in cultivation level, not proof that he personally defeats all four at once; the later shield-breaking and sweeping attack belong to Hanxue Zong. (Chapters 361 and 363)
Speed and interception
He can launch toward Zhou quickly enough that the prepared Grand Elders must react immediately. After Zhou points to Meng Hao, he changes targets, but Meng Hao's Bloodburst Flash creates enough distance to prevent an instant capture. The pursuit ends by Hanxue Zong's choice rather than a demonstrated counter from the escort. (Chapter 365)
Resistance limits
Hanxue Bao's remote intervention makes the escort tremble and cough blood before the delegation activates its escape. He survives the pressure, but the reaction shows a clear gap between late Nascent Soul power and a Spirit Severing Patriarch operating beneath Holy Snow City. (Chapter 365)
