Han Shandao

Han Shandao is the first-ranked of the Solitary Sword Sect's Seven Sons and one of the strongest Foundation Establishment cultivators gathered at the ancient Dao Geyser.

Biography

Enlightenment at the Dao Geyser

Han Shandao meditates beside Wang Lihai when the ancient Dao Geyser erupts. He gains a significant cultivation improvement and insight into an unnamed magical technique, placing him among the Dao Children and Chosen who benefit most from the event. His position as First of the Seven Sons and his cultivation halfway to Core Formation make him a natural representative of the Solitary Sword Sect when challenges arise. (Chapter 264)

Defeat by the Faceless Azure Hero

Meng Hao, disguised as the Faceless Azure Hero, selects Han as an opponent while testing the battle incantation and his own growing strength. Han accepts heartily and commits to a direct sword clash. His massive greatsword releases towering sword aura and conceals a flying dagger with Core Formation power, but Meng Hao ends the exchange in one move. The greatsword shatters, the hidden dagger cracks, and Han is left badly wounded. Rather than invent an excuse, he concedes and correctly infers that his opponent obtained the ancient battle incantation. (Chapter 266)

Public recognition and restraint

When Black Lands Dao Children challenge the Southern Domain cultivators, Han steps forward to answer Xu Fei. After Luo Chong is aged by Meng Hao's Wooden Time Swords, Han recognizes the azure robe and publicly identifies Meng Hao as the Faceless Azure Hero. He reframes his own defeat as guidance, thanks Meng Hao, and offers the Solitary Sword Sect as witness to the promised Core Formation rematch. After Meng Hao kills Cultivator Yang, Han considers the moment of apparent weakness but does not attack a Violet Fate Sect Furnace Lord protected by major powers. That choice shows that his candor coexists with realistic political judgment. (Chapters 268–275)

Appearance and personality

Han appears as a middle-aged man with a flushed face and an open, vigorous bearing. He is proud and eager to test strength directly, yet he accepts decisive defeat without resentment and publicly credits the person who defeated him. His brief calculation after Yang's death prevents that straightforwardness from becoming naïveté: he recognizes opportunity but also the danger of attacking a famous alchemist whose sect is watching.

Abilities and cultivation

Great-circle Foundation Establishment

Han has reached the great circle of Foundation Establishment and is described as halfway to Core Formation. This gives him standing among the Southern Domain's best younger cultivators, but it does not equal genuine Core Formation battle power. His encounter with Meng Hao demonstrates that cultivation rank alone cannot compensate for a Perfect Foundation, ancient battle Qi, and a weapon that manipulates time. (Chapters 264–266)

Greatsword and concealed dagger

His primary weapon is a massive sword that projects a towering sword aura suited to a frontal, forceful fighting style. A much more dangerous flying dagger is hidden within it and can release Core Formation-level power, allowing Han to surprise an opponent who thinks the greatsword is his limit. The arrangement has a structural weakness: when Meng Hao's single attack overwhelms the outer sword, it also reaches and cracks the concealed dagger, disabling both layers at once. (Chapter 266)

Dao Geyser enlightenment

The geyser improves Han's cultivation and grants insight into a magical technique, but the text does not name or explain that technique.
