Golden Dao Lakes Guardian Beast

Golden Dao Lakes Guardian Beast is the deep-gold beast that oversees the first subterranean trial beneath the Ancient Dao Lakes. It regulates the mandatory contest through its clan and later controls renewed access toward the deeper levels.

Biography

First-level trial

Meng Hao first sees the deep-gold guardian among eleven Dao Seeking golden beasts near the first level's flame portal. Its own aura is far more terrifying and seems Immortal, and a glance from it makes him feel sealed in place. The guardian explains the ancient treaty governing the underground world: entrants must participate, failure or refusal can mean death, and passage requires fighting through members of its clan to reach the portal. It scorns the possibility that challengers could kill too many of its people because their Undying Divinity ancestry and black flames restore their injuries. (Chapters 725–726)

The guardian watches Lu Bai pass by combining Time magic with a dragon corpse, recognizes the potential of his Dao, and grants entry to the second level. Meng Hao then uses the Blood Demon Grand Magic to drain the guardian's silver clanspeople faster than they can regenerate. Alarmed but constrained by the treaty, the overseer sends a stronger gold beast to stop him. Meng Hao nearly destroys it with accumulated physical power, forcing the guardian to intervene personally, disperse the attack, and declare that he has passed. The overseer therefore enforces a lethal trial while still protecting its clan from death beyond what the rules require. (Chapters 726–728)

Return to the underground trial

When Meng Hao returns to the Dao Lakes and sends divine will to the people guarding the world below, the underground teleportation portal activates. He arrives among mountains of magical items and beasts of many colors, with the golden guardian lying before an enormous door. The beast remembers his earlier participation and tells him that, except for Lu Bai, the other challengers have died. It twice asks whether he truly intends to challenge the third level, making its later role one of warning and controlled passage rather than a repeated first-level fight. (Chapter 886)

After Meng Hao confirms his choice, the guardian roars and causes the first-level beasts to part, opening a route to the door. One Spirit Severing beast attacks anyway; Meng Hao subdues and drags it forward. The golden guardian watches in surprise but does not interfere, allowing him to cross into the second level. The white ancient beast that oversees the second level is a separate character. That beast speaks with Meng Hao beyond the door and later reacts to his Allheaven power and the collapse of the third-level passage. Appearance and personality

It is a deep-gold-colored beast with an aura Meng Hao initially reads as Immortal. On his return, it is large enough to lie beneath the enormous first-level door, and its voice rolls like thunder. It is proud of its clan's Undying Divinity descent and initially scornful of challengers, but it also adheres to the ancient treaty, praises genuine achievement, protects endangered clan members, and opens the path when passage has been earned.

Abilities and cultivation

The guardian's demonstrated powers concern control of the first underground level, bodily pressure, and intervention on behalf of its clan.

Trial access and authority

It explains and enforces the treaty, assigns clan members to challengers, judges attempts, and declares passage. On Meng Hao's later visit, it responds to his divine-will request through the submerged route, and a roar makes the first-level beasts part to create a clear path. This indicates recognized authority over the level's inhabitants and access procedures. (Chapters 726–728 and 886–887)

Guardian pressure and intervention

Its glance can make a cultivator feel sealed, and it can make a frightened participant's cultivation unstable through attention alone. When Meng Hao's body strike is about to kill a gold clan member, the guardian crosses the distance, catches the beast, and disperses the attack with a slap. The ancient treaty is an operational limitation: even when anxious, it cannot simply interfere before a challenger violates or completes the trial. (Chapters 725–728)

Undying Divinity clan

The guardian identifies its people as descendants of the Undying Divinity Clan. Black flames raise the beasts' effective realms and rapidly heal wounds, making the lower-level members extremely difficult to kill. The guardian shares authority over this clan but is not shown sustaining the flames personally, so the regenerative mechanism should not be treated as an individual spell. (Chapter 726)
