Lu Bai

Lu Bai is the Northern Reaches’ foremost cultivator below Dao Seeking when he enters the Ancient Dao Lakes. A six-colored Resurrection Lily seed gives him a unique path into Time, letting him replay the past, reverse motion, and briefly resurrect a dead dragon; years trapped in the underground trial later carry him into early Dao Seeking.

Biography

Foremost Northern Chosen

Lu Bai arrives at the Ancient Dao Lakes as one of South Heaven’s four Young Starlords. At the Second Severing he can already kill early Dao Seeking cultivators, and teleportation traps fail to touch him because he moves through distortions of space-time. The Dawn Immortal has planted a consciousness-free Resurrection Lily seed in him, allowing him to consume its power without being possessed. (Chapters 720–722)

During the master lake’s eruption, Lu Bai kills a Li Clan competitor through Time and takes an enormous black dragon corpse. He recognizes Meng Hao as the adversary foretold by the Dawn Immortal, but does not rush into a personal duel once Meng Hao’s power becomes clear. In the struggle over the True Immortal soul, Lu Bai reverses local time to slow every competitor and repeatedly reaches the prize first, yet combined attacks and Meng Hao’s physical endurance force him back. (Chapters 721–725)

Underground trial

The lake drags Lu Bai into an underground world. In its first level, Time-space distortion lets attacks pass through empty positions while he crosses a horde of nearly unkillable beasts. At the final barrier he manifests a River of Time, ages himself by ten years, and applies Time Reversal to the dragon corpse. The dead Nightmare Dragon revives for one attack with Immortal power, driving back a golden beast and opening the flame portal. The technique succeeds but leaves Lu Bai coughing blood and unable to maintain resurrection. (Chapter 726)

On the second level’s body-tempering altar, Lu Bai reaches the third floor but loses to a perfect copy of himself. Meng Hao’s later success rekindles rather than breaks his Dao heart. Lu Bai rejects titles and returns to the altar, determined that a true Immortal on his path must defeat his own reflection. When Meng Hao leaves, Lu Bai is still fighting. (Chapters 728–731)

Years of isolation

When Meng Hao returns much later, every original entrant except Lu Bai has died. Lu Bai has completed his Third Severing and entered early Dao Seeking, but remains one pace from the final level. Learning that the Northern invasion failed and his homeland’s strongest experts are imprisoned devastates him. Meng Hao spares him on the condition that he cultivate peacefully if he ever escapes. Lu Bai’s latest state is therefore powerful but unresolved: alive, advanced, and still confined by a trial he has not completed. (Chapters 886–888)

Appearance and personality

Lu Bai is a young man of nearly perfect handsomeness whose demeanor is usually gentle and cool. Time in the trial leaves him bearded and dressed in tatters. He is proud of strength rather than empty title, cautious enough to abandon a bad contest, and resilient enough to transform Meng Hao’s superiority into motivation. News of the Northern Reaches’ ruin reveals genuine attachment beneath that control.

Abilities and cultivation

Resurrection Lily path

The Dawn Immortal gives Lu Bai a six-colored seed with no hostile consciousness. By consuming it, he becomes spiritually similar to a Resurrection Lily and gains a foundation for Time power without suffering the possession that threatens normal hosts. The text does not show him controlling other Resurrection Lilies.

Temporal replay and reversal

With the flower in his palm, Lu Bai can display images of everything that previously passed through a location. In battle, reversal slows or pulls back surrounding motion, crushes a Nascent Divinity through Time, and lets him reposition while others are delayed. Strong Dao Seeking natural law and the Ancient Dao Lake’s gravitational power can break the effect.

River of Time

Countless lights form a broad river that forces silver beasts backward and clears a path. It is a high-output area technique; using it with resurrection visibly ages Lu Bai, causes blood loss, and cannot be sustained indefinitely.

Time Reversal: Resurrection

Lu Bai can temporarily return a corpse to its living battle state. At Second Severing he revives the Nightmare Dragon for only one Immortal-powered attack. The overseer states that true Immortal strength could sustain it for a full battle; Lu Bai believes peak Dao Seeking would suffice, but that later claim is not demonstrated.

Progression to Dao Seeking

Years of repeated altar cultivation advance Lu Bai from Second Severing to Third Severing and early Dao Seeking. Even then he remains unable to pass the second level, establishing that realm growth does not automatically overcome the self-reflection trial.
