Da Nu

Da Nu is the compassionate portion severed from the seven-colored Resurrection Lily that later became the Dawn Immortal. Long after being left at the bottom of the Milky Way Sea, she gives nearly all of her life force to restore Meng Hao in the Rebirth Cave.

Biography

The unresolved bond

An ancient message left by the Eighth Generation Demon Sealer names Da Nu as part of an ill-fated relationship he could not resolve before confronting his Dao Tribulation. A wooden coffin bound with red rope and a woman’s head associated with the Milky Way Sea preserve the mystery of her continued existence. Later memories establish that the person she loved gave her the name Da Nu. She does not answer abandonment with hatred; she remains the goodness cast away when the Resurrection Lily’s other will pursued Immortal Ascension as the Dawn Immortal. The Rebirth Cave

When Xu Qing brings the dying Meng Hao into the Rebirth Cave, Da Nu sends Xu Qing away and receives the Soul Birth Pill later delivered for him. Meng Hao’s body has already lost its heart and cultivation foundation; conventional healing cannot supply the missing principle of life. Da Nu answers by turning her own seven-colored Resurrection Lily life force into motes that enter him and form a Bridge of Life. Lodestone powder from the Ninth Mountain and Sea fuses into his new heart while her power restores blood, soul, and flesh. (Chapters 689–692)

The transfer withers Da Nu toward death. When Meng Hao awakens, she tells him that the life was given not for his sake but for Xu Qing—the person whose devotion brought him to the cave. Da Nu is prepared to surrender her final life force when Shui Dongliu intervenes. A painted Resurrection Lily preserves her and places her into a ten-thousand-year sleep, leaving open the possibility of rebirth rather than confirming it. The life force already inside Meng Hao remains compatible with the Resurrection Lily after its hostile will is erased and strengthens his restored body beyond its previous state. Appearance and personality

Da Nu appears in several symbolic or transformed associations, including the sealed woman, the coffin entity, and the seven-colored Resurrection Lily. Her defining quality is gentleness. She remembers love without blaming the person who could not return it and gives life without demanding affection or allegiance. Even her aid to Meng Hao is framed as recognition of Xu Qing’s sacrifice, showing that compassion rather than personal attachment governs her final choice.

Abilities and cultivation

Seven-colored life force

Da Nu’s essence contains an immense quantity of life force because she is the goodness of a seven-colored Resurrection Lily. She can separate that force into motes and transfer it to another person. The process is not ordinary healing: it spends her own existence, causing progressive withering and near death.

Bridge of Life

Her life force forms and completes a Bridge of Life inside Meng Hao. The bridge reconnects body, blood, heart, and soul sufficiently for him to awaken after injuries that had otherwise ended his path. Ninth Mountain and Sea lodestone supplies material for the heart, while Da Nu supplies the animating life. The result restores and strengthens the fleshly body but does not by itself recreate the stolen Dao Foundation.

Transformative existence

Da Nu’s history associates her with a woman, a Resurrection Lily, and other sealed or aquatic forms. These changes indicate a nonhuman existence capable of taking different manifestations, but the supplied scenes do not present them as freely chosen combat transformations.

Preservation through painting

Shui Dongliu’s painted Resurrection Lily halts Da Nu’s final death and induces a prolonged sleep. This is his intervention rather than her independent technique, and the promise of later rebirth remains a hope, not a confirmed outcome within the supplied corpus.
