Brother Sun
Brother Sun is one of seven cultivators from the Spirit Mountain Three Villages who perform a monthly blood ritual to pull a mysterious red rope from a valley.
Biography
The villages' repeated ritual
The Three Villages believe that drawing enough of the rope will earn an ancestral reward. Brother Sun participates in repeated attempts even while still at the eighth level of Qi Condensation. The group has already pulled roughly fifteen hundred meters, but each further gain requires collective strength, precise timing, and blood. His expected breakthrough is treated as the additional force that might finally change the result. (Chapters 98–101)
By the next major attempt, Brother Sun reaches the ninth level. He joins six other cultivators around the rope, contributes blood to the ritual, and helps manifest the black blade associated with the pulling method. Their synchronized effort succeeds in moving what lies at the rope's far end—but the “reward” is not what the villages expect. They drag Meng Hao out of an ancient cave. (Chapter 102)
Submission to Meng Hao
Meng Hao's sudden appearance and overwhelming cultivation turn the ritual site into a crisis. One of the seven dies in the confrontation, while Brother Sun remains among the six survivors. Once resistance is clearly impossible, they submit, provide their records and information, and respectfully see Meng Hao leave. Brother Sun's arc ends with survival secured through practical surrender rather than continued loyalty to a mistaken expectation. (Chapters 103–104)
Appearance and personality
No distinct physical description is supplied. He is defined by cooperative patience and faith in the villages' inherited practice. After its result proves dangerous, he is pragmatic enough to accept the power imbalance and survive.
Abilities and cultivation
Ninth-level Qi Condensation
Brother Sun advances from the eighth to the ninth level of Qi Condensation during the ritual sequence. The breakthrough increases the group's available pulling force but does not give him power comparable to Meng Hao.
Seven-person red-rope ritual
The technique is collective. Seven positioned cultivators use blood and synchronized cultivation to draw the rope and form or empower a black blade. Its effectiveness depends on the whole formation; Brother Sun supplies one share of force rather than controlling the ritual alone. Repeated earlier failures show that greater cultivation improves progress but does not reveal or control what is attached to the rope.
