Blood Mastiff
The Blood Mastiff is Meng Hao's canine Blood Divinity. Born from his heart's blood during the Blood Immortal tournament, it grows from a frightened puppy into a Nascent Soul guardian and displays absolute loyalty to its master.
Biography
Southern Domain and the Black Sieve Sect
The Divinity appears as a finger-sized puppy that immediately licks Meng Hao's palm. Though initially the weakest competitor, it grows beside him through the first three matrixes, sharing his injuries, battles, pills, and enlightenment until it becomes a red Foundation Establishment mastiff. (Chapters 121–125)
It reaches Core Formation and, during Meng Hao's six-day poison flare, protects him alone against endless fifth-matrix attackers. Nearly destroyed, it refuses his command to flee. Their bond unlocks the matrix seal, and Meng Hao promises to take it out with him. (Chapters 126–128)
In the sixth matrix the mastiff breaks the possessed Blood Slave's suppression, rescues Meng Hao, and sacrifices itself to throw him through the exit. Meng Hao returns with a Perfect Foundation, revives it from the sludge, and transforms it into a sixty-meter violet Blood Spirit. It then reaches Nascent Soul as the Legacy matrixes collapse. (Chapters 129–132)
The mastiff enters the Blood Immortal's mask and fights the Li Clan Patriarch's Blood Dragon for control as Weapon Spirit. Li Daoyi's escape weakens the rival, allowing the mastiff to consume most of the patriarch and gain control. It subsequently hibernates within the mask while digesting the remaining power. (Chapters 133–137)
Its aura continues to grow while it sleeps. When Meng Hao repeatedly calls for it during his mortal danger outside the Rebirth Cave, it forces itself awake and extends a single Spirit Severing paw through the blood screen, instantly killing seven Nascent Soul pursuers. (Chapters 206 and 312–313)
Spirit Severing guardian and recovery
After forcing itself awake at Rebirth Cave, the Mastiff serves as Meng Hao's Spirit Severing Dao Protector through the conflict with Patriarch Huyan. It attacks threats independently while remaining responsive to recall, converting the frightened puppy's original dependence into the ability to protect its master across an entire high-level battle. (Chapters 484 and 537–547)
The mastiff intercepts the Tenth Wang Clan Patriarch's Dao Seeking palm. Its body bursts into blood strands, but it survives by reforming in a much smaller state inside the Blood Immortal mask. By the time Meng Hao joins the Blood Demon Sect, it has regrown a weak physical body and instinctively absorbs the aura of the Blood Demon Grand Magic. It later fights beside Meng Hao against the Northern Reaches army until he recalls it to the mask rather than let it be destroyed. (Chapters 630, 704, and 738)
Nine Seas and the Windswept Realm
The Blood Mastiff begins to wake during Meng Hao's Windswept Realm campaign and protects him while he is occupied with enlightenment. Enemy attacks damage its shield, and Meng Hao's retaliation is driven by anger at everyone who harmed it. During the same expedition it absorbs a renegade bat spirit, but interrupts the resulting breakthrough in order to help Meng Hao, leaving its cultivation stalled at the great circle of the Ancient Realm. (Chapters 1097 and 1136)
Back on Planet South Heaven, the mastiff reacts to another bat-like renegade spirit from inside Meng Hao's bag of holding, showing that the essence it consumed remains relevant to its appetite and growth. When Meng Hao later tries to absorb the damaged Paragon Bridge, the mastiff becomes a cape and adds its defense to a larger combination that also includes the meat jelly, copper mirror, and a Nirvana Fruit. Its contribution reinforces Meng Hao; it does not make the combined technique immune to stronger counterattacks. (Chapters 1169 and 1204)
Meng Clan and the Mountain and Sea War
At Planet Blacksoul, the mastiff emerges with great-circle Ancient Realm cultivation and fights beside Meng Hao's Blood Demon and Blood Spirit. It then repeatedly takes cape form during direct clashes with Patriarch Blacksoul and Xuan Daozi. The cape can absorb part of an impact before reverting, but attacks from those opponents still make the mastiff cough blood and leave Meng Hao gravely injured; it is a living defender, not invulnerable equipment. (Chapters 1215, 1219–1220 and 1232)
Within the Meng Clan, its role shifts between companion, transport, and independent guard. It carries Meng Ru while she recalls scattered bloodline members, stays behind to protect Grandma Meng's faction, and obeys Meng Hao's battlefield command to defend the family rather than pursue kills. The clan members address it as a senior cultivator because its judgment and protective assignment are treated as more than animal instinct. (Chapters 1251, 1257, 1259 and 1276–1281)
Its interrupted Windswept breakthrough is completed when Meng Hao performs Righteous Bestowal. The Hex grants recognition by the Mountain and Sea Realm and access to a measure of the Realm's power, raising the mastiff from the great circle of the Ancient Realm into the Dao Realm. It thereafter joins Meng Hao against the Five Venoms and later war enemies, but still functions as one part of a combined arsenal rather than an equal to the highest Paragons. (Chapters 1299, 1320 and 1348)
At the end of the war, the mastiff refuses Meng Hao's attempt to set it free and keeps hold of his clothing as he loses consciousness. It is too weak to stop the will of the Immortal God Continent, is struck aside, and nevertheless returns to his side. The Realm's later memory of the battle records the blood-colored mastiff as standing guard after the parrot erased its mind and the meat jelly sacrificed itself. (Chapters 1408–1409)
Vast Expanse and Transcendence
The mastiff is found beside Meng Hao's apparently dead body in the Vast Expanse and remains his only living companion when he awakens. It has protected him at a heavy cost and can do little except hibernate, so the millennium-long guard is an act of endurance rather than continuous battle. Once it recovers, Meng Hao sends it with his fourth-life clone. It assumes the harmless place of a village hunting dog beside the infant Fang Mu, suppressing ordinary animals with an invisible pressure while concealing its real status from the villagers. (Chapters 1410–1411 and 1448–1449)
The mastiff accompanies Fang Mu through seclusion and secretly guards Yan'er when she travels without her master. It detects the silent vortex used to abduct her and reaches the kidnappers, but stops when the captor threatens to kill the hostage. After teleportation carries Yan'er away, it kills and devours the Dao Realm protector left behind, then howls an alarm that reaches Meng Hao. Power lets it overwhelm the guard; protecting Yan'er forces restraint against the weaker captor who is actually holding her. (Chapters 1453–1454)
It later walks beside Yan'er for centuries on the Transcendence Path and leaves with her when she decides to search Meng Hao's reincarnations. When Meng Hao's lives and Hexing preparations converge, the mastiff returns to him as a companion rather than a disposable summon. It is at his side when he prepares to absorb the Ninth Hex and again when the parrot returns, preserving one continuous relationship across the Blood Immortal Legacy, the destroyed Realm, and Planet Vast Expanse. (Chapters 1488–1490 and 1525–1526)
Beyond Allheaven
After Allheaven's curse is broken and the stored soul seeds enter reincarnation, the mastiff becomes the lifelong companion of Perfect, Chu Yuyan's reincarnated daughter. The assignment extends its oldest defining role—guarding someone Meng Hao regards as family—into the restored starry sky. It remains alive rather than entering the reincarnation cycle itself, and the supplied text does not establish that Perfect inherits ownership of the Blood Immortal Legacy mask. (Chapter 1612)
Appearance and personality
It begins as a shivering, bright-eyed puppy. Growth turns it into an immense red mastiff with swordlike teeth, claws, and bone spurs; after resurrection its fur becomes violet and it develops a horn. It is savage toward every threat but affectionate and puppy-like with Meng Hao. Loyalty, courage, and a desire for his touch define its emerging consciousness.
Abilities and cultivation
Blood Divinity growth
Born from Meng Hao's heart blood, it shares injuries, pills, and matrix enlightenment with him, advancing from below Qi Condensation to Nascent Soul. The acceleration depends on the Blood Immortal Legacy environment and their bond, not ordinary canine cultivation. (Chapters 121–132)
Blood Spirit resurrection
After sacrificing itself, it is restored from blood sludge when Meng Hao returns with a Perfect Foundation. Resurrection enlarges it and changes its fur, but requires Meng Hao, the matrix, and surviving Blood Divinity essence. (Chapters 129–132)
Weapon Spirit
Inside the mask it contests the Li Patriarch's Blood Dragon and consumes most of the rival after Li Daoyi weakens the connection. Long hibernation is required to digest that power and advance to Spirit Severing. (Chapters 133–137 and 206–313)
Spirit Severing protection
One projected paw kills seven Nascent Soul pursuers, and its awakened body later serves as Dao Protector. Stronger Dao Seeking force can burst it into blood strands, after which recovery produces a much smaller weak body. (Chapters 312–313, 537–547, 630 and 704)
Armor and transformation
Later it can compress into a small companion, carry a rider, become a blood-colored cape, or pass as a village hunting dog. Cape form intercepts force directed at Meng Hao and can be combined with other transformed companions and treasures, but sufficient impact separates it from him and injures both of them. The hunting-dog disguise suppresses obvious appearance while its pressure still frightens nearby animals; it is concealment suited to a mortal village, not proof that no superior cultivator can identify it. (Chapters 1204, 1219–1220, 1232, 1251, 1257–1259 and 1448–1449)
Tracking and devouring
Renegade-spirit essence and Blood Demon aura can nourish it, and consuming the Windswept bat spirit brings it to the verge of a new realm. The breakthrough is interruptible: choosing to protect Meng Hao leaves it stalled until Righteous Bestowal later grants Mountain and Sea recognition and power sufficient to reach the Dao Realm. When Yan'er is abducted, the mastiff detects the spatial attack, follows the captors, and devours the separated Dao Realm protector. It cannot simply attack through a hostage, however, and stops when Yan'er's life is threatened; its alarm to Meng Hao becomes the safer way to continue the rescue. (Chapters 738, 1097–1136, 1169, 1299 and 1453–1454)
