Licorice

Licorice is the queen of an Enesis-born succubus clan, a high-order magician, and Kang Shin's contracted companion. She avoids becoming either a sacrificial invader or a dungeon battle machine by negotiating for a compatible master, then makes her clan part of Revival and ultimately evolves beyond a Succubus Queen to fight as an Empress. Biography

World Crises and Heroic Growth

Licorice meets Shin as the boss of an Event Dungeon but lowers her defense and asks to negotiate instead of forcing a lethal battle. She explains that Enesis lost its power in a paired-world conflict with Elesia and that she was born a Succubus Queen only to spend her life leading an invasion. Unwilling to die, submit to the dungeon as a battle machine, or accept a man enthralled by her racial charm, she arranged strict conditions for the person allowed to reach her. Shin's strength and resistance to her amplified charm satisfy those conditions, and she treats their encounter as the fate she had sought. (Chapter 211)

When she asks for a name that will connect them, Shin calls her Licorice. The dungeon recognizes her as an SSS+ tamed boss and establishes a companion bond without him killing her or her clan. Licorice then commits the other succubi to him and joins Revival, bringing both combat power and an organized information network. Her followers can become bats and disappear into the storage space associated with her dress, while the clan's mental link lets separate teams share information and improve through common experience. Although playful about calling Shin her husband, Licorice immediately demonstrates that her choice includes strategic service and responsibility for the people who followed her. (Chapters 211–213)

Guardians and World Enemies

During the Lava King campaign, Licorice deploys her battle units across the Philippines and supplies Shin with a crystal sphere holding mana gathered by the clan. She then uses massed magic circles against the guardian's army and defeats the Lava Heart's charm resistance with Branding of Rose and Sweet Nightmare, cutting its health and imposing critical charm. The campaign also costs six succubi their lives. At their funeral she explains that she became queen young, crossed from Enesis to Elesia after her world fell, and killed for the sake of her clan's survival. She neither denies that history nor abandons the new family she has chosen, promising to continue fighting and remember the dead. (Chapters 221, 224, 226, and 232)

Licorice's value is not limited to seduction magic. Against the Hermit King, she creates air and ice magic underwater, withstands conditions that hinder her wings and tail, and ultimately casts her highest-ranked magic, Love, on Shin. The spell raises his affinity to the world in proportion to his charm and helps him turn the enemy's lightning into a decisive attack. On Edias, where dense atmospheric mana suppresses foreign magic, she carefully converts the surrounding energy into a giant trajectory ring that strengthens Shin's projectile while weakening the attack coming from below. She continues fighting under the same environmental pressure, proving that her all-element repertoire includes support, control, and direct destruction. (Chapters 246–249 and 269–276)

Her attachment to Shin becomes operational trust during these missions. She tells him to rely on her in hazardous mana conditions, retrieves or guards what he cannot handle while reconstructing his body, and works beside Dark Wing Lotte as both rival and partner. Her clan remains an intelligence and response network for Revival, but that connection has a dangerous reverse side. When the Death King blocks the link and kills dozens of succubi protecting Shin's mother, Licorice receives the accumulated grief only after the network returns and collapses from the shock. The event demonstrates that a bond capable of instant coordination can also transmit loss directly to its queen. (Chapters 253, 269–276, and 294–297)

Licorice reveals that dead succubi pass their mana to surviving kin. She had previously rejected a Mare Alliance plan to slaughter her followers and concentrate their strength in her, because victory without anyone left to share it was meaningless. After the Death King's attack, she accepts a different path: living succubi can voluntarily lend mana without dying, even though doing so weakens them. Her pink eyes develop concentric circles and star-like particles, her wings and tail deepen in color, and her horns turn outward as she resolves to gather enough power to stand beside Shin. The decision preserves the clan she loves while changing how its collective strength is used. (Chapters 297–299)

Final Wave and the Dungeon's End

Later revelations place Licorice's first bargain in a wider design. She admits that she negotiated with Sherafina for the Event Dungeon because she was never committed to the invasion and might otherwise have aided Elesia's defenders. She also learns that Shin's absorption of Lilith's power has altered him through their contract: he becomes partly Mare, while Licorice gains the possibility of evolving beyond a Queen. She withdraws with selected succubi to gather the mana needed for that transformation. The process takes time and collective support rather than occurring automatically from the deaths she has already endured. (Chapters 302 and 308–309)

By the final crisis, Licorice has completed her awakening as a Succubus Empress. She and Shin share a consciousness link like the one within her clan, but stronger: it remains available despite interference and allows reciprocal transfer of thoughts. Shin leaves Earth's defense to her, and she supports Leon Pepper before joining the confrontation with the Demon Lord. There she channels her own immense reserve and the mana of every surviving succubus into Shin, enabling his attack through thousands of ordinary weapons. She also casts barriers, explains the enemy's costly language magic, and uses Divine Speed to engage him directly. (Chapters 342–346)

When Shin asks for restraint, Licorice coats her hands in his Enigma while they are together and scratches the Demon Lord at close range, although the enemy's demonic burst drives her and Kain back. She then uses their shared consciousness to understand Shin's plan and rapidly gather Revival when the final transfer of world powers begins. Licorice survives the collapse of the dungeon's design and remains one of the women preparing to marry Shin. Her latest role combines queen, companion, operational commander, and emotional partner; the ending does not show what further stages an Empress might possess beyond the abilities she demonstrates. Appearance and personality

Licorice is an exceptionally beautiful succubus with sparkling pink eyes, horns, dark wings, a tail, and a dress able to conceal her clan's bat forms. The text emphasizes her sensual bearing more consistently than exact measurements, and it does not establish a reliable hair color or height in the supplied scope. After the Death King battle, concentric rings appear in her pupils, star-like points return within them, her wings and tail become a deeper black, and her lamb-like horns turn outward. As a fully awakened Empress she has two prominent forehead horns and is described as even more beautiful, but no complete anatomical transformation is cataloged. Flirtatious, theatrical, and openly affectionate, Licorice uses humor and provocative language to unsettle Shin, yet the playfulness coexists with the judgment of a long-serving ruler. Her central loyalty is protective rather than merely romantic: she chooses her clan over political victory, accepts responsibility for the lives she took and the followers she loses, and repeatedly lends power without preserving it for herself. Grief can overwhelm her through the clan link, but it also pushes her toward a form of leadership that shares burdens voluntarily. Powers and abilities

Licorice combines Succubus Queen physiology, very high charm, all-element spellcraft, a collective bond with her clan, and a companion contract with Shin. Her initial dungeon assessment is SSS+, above the dungeon-bound Succubus Queen Shin later fights, while her Empress evolution raises her beyond that starting state. These labels indicate relative standing rather than immunity: world enemies can resist her, hostile environments can suppress her mana, barriers can fail, and disruption of her clan link can leave her vulnerable to accumulated shock. Charm and succubus magic

Licorice's racial charm is strong enough to affect enemies on a much larger physical and existential scale, and it is doubled against members of the opposite sex. Branding of Rose and Sweet Nightmare form her clearest offensive example. When the target's charm is lower than the user's, Sweet Nightmare removes half its health and inflicts critical charm; Licorice successfully applies it to the Lava Heart, shrinking and debilitating the guardian. The comparison condition is a real limit, and later Succubus Queens who fail the same skill against Shin suffer a disabling penalty, so it is not an irresistible effect against every target. Her highest-ranked support magic is Love. Cast after a long preparation against the Hermit King, it increases the recipient's affinity to everything in the world, with the improvement scaling to that person's charm. Licorice can manifest many large magic circles simultaneously and attack with flame, light, ice, and other elemental effects. She uses focused volleys against Destroyers, forms breathable protection and ice pillars underwater, scorches undead beside Lotte, and erects barriers against the Demon Lord's language spells. Her mana pool supports large-area and repeated casting, while her wings allow aerial positioning. She can also move at Divine Speed after becoming an Empress and fight with magically reinforced claws, though direct melee remains a supporting option rather than her principal specialty. Her most technically unusual field spell turns ambient mana into a concentric trajectory. In the Peruta Mountain Range, where dense atmospheric power suppresses the party's magic, Licorice claims that power as her own, accelerates and amplifies Shin's projectile, and drains force from the opposing blast moving through the same ring. The result exploits an extraordinarily mana-rich environment; it is not proof that she can freely seize any enemy's personal reserve. Environmental oppression still makes her casting difficult, and a strong enough enemy can penetrate her barriers or push her back despite the scale of her output. (Chapters 272–276 and 346)

Succubus clan link

Licorice shares a strong mental bond with her clan. Separate information teams can communicate findings, combat units share experience and improve proficiency, and the group can answer her commands across a broad operation. The succubi can become bats and enter the storage hidden by her dress, while outside the dungeon they sustain themselves by taking mana and vitality from monsters. Because they cannot climb the dungeon as explorers, their strength and development remain rooted in their original bodies, shared training, and real-world deployments rather than floor progression. (Chapters 212–213, 221, and 343–347)

The link also lets the clan pool power. Combat units condense part of their collected mana into a crystal sphere for Shin, dead succubi automatically pass their remaining mana to kin, and living members can voluntarily send mana through Licorice even at the cost of weakening themselves. At the final battle, she serves as the medium for every surviving succubus and floods Shin with their combined reserve. The network can be suppressed by overwhelmingly hostile mana, however, and its restoration can deliver many deaths to Licorice's awareness at once, causing severe mental and physical shock. Contract and Empress evolution

Shin's naming and Tamer abilities establish Licorice as a contracted companion whose loyalty and affection are reinforced without erasing her independent judgment. The contract allows close communication and lets her serve within the same companion framework as his other tamed allies. After Shin absorbs Lilith's power, the bond carries Mare influence in both directions: Shin's body adapts to use charm, while Licorice gains the capacity to exceed the fixed “vessel” of a Succubus Queen. As an Empress, Licorice possesses a larger mana reserve, stronger physical and magical presence, and a direct consciousness link with Shin that cannot be severed by the kinds of interference that disrupted her clan connection. They exchange plans without speech, and while beside him she can wield Enigma on her hands because it is his power. She can channel the entire clan's mana, arrive with movement resembling teleportation or blink, and contest the Demon Lord briefly at close range. The narration does not confirm an actual teleportation spell, quantify the evolution's increase, or define a stage beyond Empress, so those points remain unresolved. (Chapters 342 and 345–347)
