Dark Wing Lotte

Dark Wing Lotte, originally named Zirte, is the black Queen of the Wyverns whom Kang Shin tames during the Wyvern's Nest crisis. She becomes his principal aerial mount and an autonomous fire-aligned combatant, eventually gaining a human form and the title Blaze Queen while remaining bound to him by a taming contract. Biography

Field Dungeons and Revival

Lotte first appears as Dark Wing Zirte, the S+ ranked boss of the S-rank Wyvern's Nest Field Dungeon. Her black body and distinctive wings set her apart from the ordinary wyverns, who recognize her as their queen. After seeing Shin destroy the flock and display the Hero's power she admires, she surrenders voluntarily rather than die carrying out the world's command. She asks him for a new name that will tie her identity to his brilliance, and he names her Lotte before forming a taming contract. (Chapter 133)

She enters battle immediately against the Flame Drake, dodging its attacks at extreme speed, catching raid members who fall into the canyon, and carrying Shin through his decisive charges. Lotte initially resists other riders and tries to throw Ye-Eun off, yet follows Shin's dangerous instructions when he assures her that he has a plan. Taming the dungeon boss resolves Wyvern's Nest itself. Afterward, Shin houses her in Resting Place of the Angels because her enormous body would expose his identity near home and cannot move comfortably through ordinary dungeon passages. Guardians and World Enemies

Lotte's growth turns her from a swift mount into a fighter capable of acting without constant direction. By the Lava King battle she is called the Blaze Queen, intercepts his breath, tackles his body, passes through his tail before penetrating his abdomen, and saves Shin from a final eruption of fire. Her heat resistance is formidable but not absolute: she cannot completely stop the king's EX-ranked flame, and victory still depends on Ina, Hwaya, Ruyue, Sharana, and Shin combining their powers. She also serves as Revival's long-range transport, carrying allies who cannot fly and operating underwater inside Licorice's protective bubble. Her dislike of water remains pronounced, although Sharana's wind can keep it from touching her. On Edias she appears in human form and accompanies Shin to Peruta Mountain. Later, she and Licorice search for the Death King's life vessel but withdraw when Daisy warns that the king might sever Shin's taming contract and take control of her. Lotte interprets the retreat as failure, showing both pride and the danger inherent in her bond. (Chapters 246–247, 255, 269, and 276–296)

Final Wave and the Dungeon's End

Before the final crisis, Lotte chooses to train elsewhere on Earth after being influenced by Licorice's own drive to improve. Shin can summon her through their contract but deliberately respects the path she has chosen and does not interrupt. She returns visibly stronger and is openly relieved to find him alive, while their familiar rivalry continues because Licorice has also grown. When Shin asks both companions to wait while he completes another task, Lotte obeys despite her desire to remain beside him. (Chapters 309 and 342)

During the final operation, Lotte and Licorice support Leon's separate assignment rather than joining Shin's Demon Lord party. This division reflects her established strengths in mobility, protection, and independent field action rather than a loss of standing. She survives the Demon Lord, Sherafina, and the final monster wave, remaining Shin's contracted partner after the old dungeon order ends. Appearance and personality

In wyvern form, Lotte is an enormous creature roughly twice the size of ordinary wyverns. Her body is black, and her wings are distinctive enough to identify her as Dark Wing; later descriptions specify red stripes across them. By the Edias mission she can transform into a beautiful human woman, although the corpus gives no stable details for her human hair, eyes, clothing, or apparent age. Her size remains tactically significant because it makes concealment and movement through enclosed spaces difficult. (Chapters 133, 137, 246, and 269)

Lotte is proud, martial, blunt, and fiercely committed to the heroic ideal she sees in Shin. She dislikes carrying unfamiliar people, competes constantly with Licorice, and reacts badly to situations that make her feel weak or useless. That pride coexists with sound battlefield judgment and loyalty: she rescues strangers during the Flame Drake raid, warns Shin when his orders appear suicidal, acts independently to protect him, and accepts retreat when the taming contract itself could be exploited. Powers and abilities

Wyvern physiology and flight

As the Queen of the Wyverns, Lotte possesses great size, physical strength, aerial speed, sharp claws, and the endurance to carry Shin and other riders through large-scale battles. She can evade the Flame Drake's beam and melee attacks, retrieve falling combatants, and accelerate quickly enough to cover journeys that would require trained horses for hours. She is physically stronger than Licorice in direct comparison, though Shin judges Licorice the stronger combatant overall at that stage. (Chapters 133–134, 221, and 255–271)

Her body creates practical limitations. Lotte cannot navigate many normal dungeon interiors, would immediately reveal Shin's identity if kept openly near his home, and strongly dislikes immersion in water. The wind barrier Sharana provides during the Pacific mission solves the discomfort but does not turn Lotte into a natural underwater fighter. Her flight also does not make every passenger safe by default; riders must still withstand her acceleration and the attacks aimed at a large airborne target. (Chapters 137 and 246–247)

Blaze Queen and fire combat

Lotte develops into the Blaze Queen and gains fire-aligned offense and exceptional resistance to heat. Against the Lava King she blocks or diverts breath, collides with his body, and survives in an environment that overwhelms less specialized combatants. She can also shift or pass through part of an enemy's attack path before striking through its body, a maneuver demonstrated against the king's tail and abdomen. The narrative does not provide a formal skill list or explain whether every part of that maneuver derives from her Blaze Queen state. (Chapters 229–230)

Her affinity has definite ceilings. The Lava King's final EX-ranked fire exceeds what she can completely stop, forcing multiple allies to weaken or redirect it. Much later, the dragons Shin encounters are each described as vastly larger than Lotte, preventing her title from being read as superiority to all draconic creatures. Her training increases her strength, but the final chapters do not quantify the improvement or introduce a new named transformation beyond Blaze Queen and her human form. Transformation and taming contract

Lotte can alternate between her wyvern body and a human form by the time she travels to Edias. The smaller form makes social travel possible without concealing an enormous monster, but the corpus does not show it replacing her wyvern form in serious aerial combat. Her consciousness, pride, fire affinity, and relationship with Shin remain continuous across both appearances. (Chapters 246 and 269–271)

Shin's Tamer ability establishes a contract through which Lotte can be housed in a dedicated space, summoned, and directed. The bond is cooperative rather than mindless obedience: Lotte chose surrender, requested a new identity, argues with orders, and later pursues training independently. It is nevertheless a magical vulnerability. Daisy warns that a sufficiently powerful undead ruler might cut the contract and seize Lotte, which is why she is recalled from the Death King search before that possibility can be tested.
