Ina

Ina, born Illina Alexandrovna Mikhalova, is a Russian ice ability user adopted into the family formed by Kang Shin and Hwaya Eleni Mastiford. Initially isolated because her uncontrolled mana freezes anyone who approaches, she becomes a Gold-rank explorer, a bearer of Skadi's true name, and one of Revival's strongest magical combatants. (Chapters 160–170, 202–258, and 342–352)

Biography

Ice Castle and Adoption

The Ina who briefly speaks with Shin during his college trip is an unrelated student sharing the same short name. This character first appears much later as Illina, a small Russian girl living alone inside the Ice Castle Event Dungeon. She has already been identified publicly only as Russia's SS-ranker, and the misinformation surrounding her has left Revival expecting a dangerous adult combatant rather than a child unable to approach other people safely. The distinction matters because nothing in the corpus connects the two namesakes. (Chapters 82 and 159–160)

Illina's ice ability awakened with more mana than she could restrain. Accidental freezing killed her parents and other people, after which adults called her dangerous and kept their distance; the Russian government nevertheless sought to exploit the strategic value of an SS-ranker. She enters the Ice Castle before the international force sent to clear it and survives roughly a month and a half with little food, using an environment suited to her power but avoiding rescuers because she expects contact to kill them. Her isolation is therefore both self-protection and an attempt to stop causing further deaths. (Chapters 159–161)

Revival reaches her through acts that do not demand immediate trust. Ruyue carries hot food without freezing, while Shin and Hwaya explain that their own fire, ice resistance, and mana let them touch her safely. Illina initially withdraws because she does not want to freeze kind people, then returns when the dungeon's trapped survivors are attacked. Her freezing wind destroys ice zombies but also threatens allies, forcing Ruyue to contain the overflow. Even before she gains control, Illina chooses to risk using the power she fears because leaving Revival unaided would permit more deaths. (Chapters 160–162)

Being held safely by Shin and Hwaya breaks through the guilt she has carried since her parents' deaths. She cries when Hwaya calls her a good girl, asks the pair to become “Daddy” and “Mommy,” and shortens Illina to Ina as the name she wants them to use. Their reassurance gives her a reason to help rather than disappear: Ina controls hundreds of ice armors, joins Hwaya in weakening the Ice Castle's master, and accepts a place in Revival. After the dungeon closes, Shin forces Russia to recognize her renunciation of citizenship, appoints her a First Dungeon explorer, and helps place her in Hwaya's household. (Chapters 162–165)

World Crises and Heroic Growth

Ina's adoption begins as an improvised promise but quickly becomes the stable family relationship she wanted. She climbs to the twenty-second floor within two days, using the dungeon's full restoration after each cleared floor to sustain a pace that ordinary explorers cannot match. Hwaya provides a home and daily care, while Shin visits, trains, and publicly accepts being called her father. Ina understands that the two adults are not initially married, yet continues treating them as a family because their commitment to her matters more than their romantic status. (Chapters 165 and 169–170)

Her first missions outside the Ice Castle show how readily power once associated with catastrophe can become protective. In the basilisk raid, Ina combines extreme cold with Hwaya's heat to fracture the monster's armored mask, then follows orders to remain behind the tanks when its petrifying breath and charge threaten the party. She can fly and move at great speed by expending mana, but cannot reproduce the Ice Castle's teleportation in an ordinary environment. These restrictions teach her that overwhelming output still needs position, teamwork, and conservation. (Chapters 169–170)

Ina also develops a life within Revival rather than serving as a hidden state weapon. Shin introduces her publicly as his daughter, and she attends family gatherings with displaced children even though jealousy and imperfect control still cause awkward incidents. Dungeon progress gives her a place where using large amounts of magic is safe: she clears the forty-fifth floor while still Silver rank, reaches Gold shortly afterward, and uses her explorer appointments to bring Laz Michel and Ilayda into the First Dungeon. She shifts from a child managed by adults to a guild member who can extend opportunity to others. (Chapters 199, 202, 204, and 207)

Guardians and World Enemies

By the Philippine campaign, Ina can release small amounts of cold intentionally rather than freezing everything nearby. She proudly demonstrates the improvement while competing for Shin's attention, then applies it at a far larger scale against the Destroyer army. Her named attack Ice Age forms lotus-like ice and destroys dozens of enemies over a broad area, confirming power appropriate to an SSS-ranker. The effort leaves her staggering, so even her extraordinary reserves do not make maximum-area techniques free or endlessly repeatable. (Chapters 221 and 225)

Against the Lava King, Ina's control meets an unfavorable elemental opponent and a clear limit. She freezes flowing lava, creates fields of ice crystals against enormous fireballs, and works with Hwaya and Lotte to contest the heat, but cannot cancel all of the king's projectiles. After Shin's Overlord attack ends, Ina extinguishes the flames still burning his body; when the Lava King's last fire arrives, however, her mana is nearly exhausted and her freezing energy cannot stop it alone. The victory earns her a ring specifically meant to strengthen her comparatively weak defense. (Chapters 228–233)

The Oceania campaign marks a qualitative advance from generating cold to commanding it. Ina helps compress and reinforce Revival's artificial glacier, bombards flying demons alongside Hwaya, and intercepts an ice spear controlled by Lespina. The weapon obeys Ina as soon as she touches it, an authority Shin says cannot be explained by mana quantity alone. Invoking Skadi then turns her eyes blue, divides the spear into thousands, claims the surrounding freezing energy, and scatters the cold sustaining Lespina. She cannot defeat the world enemy by herself, but she can overturn the enemy's elemental territory and create Shin's opening. (Chapters 255 and 258–260)

Ina's increasing strength does not remove her dependence on family or the adults' responsibility toward her. When the Fear King separates Revival, she wants to accompany Shin because Hwaya is endangered, but accepts his instruction to stay with the others. During the Death King's attack, she fights in the same devastated region as Hwaya while Shin chooses the strategic task of finding the king's life vessel rather than abandoning the objective to reach them immediately. Ina's role has grown from protected survivor to trusted combatant, even as her parents continue limiting which world enemies she faces directly. (Chapters 276, 290, and 296)

Final Wave and the Dungeon's End

Before the final crisis, Ina continues climbing until she can train in Beyond. Her family life remains visible beside that progress: she makes a cake with Hwaya to welcome Shin home and receives one of his temporary blessings before returning to battle. The domestic scene is not separate from her development. Time spent cooking, playing, and seeking affection demonstrates that the child once unable to touch anyone can now live safely with others, while the blessing and dungeon ascent show that she is still preparing for dangers beyond ordinary floors. (Chapters 326–327)

After a month of intense growth, ten-year-old Ina leaves Beyond carrying a mana reserve that may exceed Hwaya's and Daisy's. She immediately offers it to Shin, combining cold mana with Hwaya's heat and his own energy into a sphere holding nearly two million mana points. Shin converts that shared reserve into chains that seal the Demon Lord's dungeon for two hours. Ina is present when Revival assembles, but Shin judges her and Hwaya better suited to destroying ordinary demons than fighting the magic-resistant Demon Lord directly, preserving her contribution without treating raw output as universal superiority. (Chapters 342–343)

Ina remains alive after the Demon Lord, Sherafina, and the final monster wave are defeated. During the wedding preparations, she activates divine power alongside Ye-Eun and Daisy to hold Shin in place, a playful use that confirms continued access to a god's power after the dungeon's old authority changes hands. Her latest condition is therefore both personal and martial continuity: an affectionate daughter embedded in the family she chose, an active Revival member, and a Beyond explorer whose ice authority remains available after the final battle. (Chapter 352)

Appearance and personality

At her first appearance, Ina is about 130 centimeters tall, with a small face and build, refined doll-like features, and long silver hair reaching her waist and shining like transparent ice. Her albinism gives her milky-white skin and silver hair, while her eyes are described as rosy pink or red and her lips as small and pink. She is nine during her early life with Hwaya and ten by the final crisis. The corpus emphasizes her small size and distinctive coloring rather than providing a recurring uniform or signature outfit. (Chapters 160, 163, 205, and 342)

Ina is affectionate, direct, possessive of parental attention, and young enough to express complex needs in simple declarations. She likes sweets, physical affection, games, and praise, calls herself a good or bad girl according to how adults respond, and initially clings to Shin and Hwaya because losing them would repeat her first abandonment. She is also compassionate: guilt over accidental deaths makes her avoid people, yet she returns to save Revival and wants to help a maddened elemental rather than condemn him. Growing confidence makes her playful and proud without removing her willingness to follow protective orders. (Chapters 160–165, 169, 199–205, 258, and 290–327)

Powers and abilities

Ina is an innate ice ability user whose mana volume is extraordinary even before she becomes a dungeon explorer. Dungeon growth improves her body and control, while Skadi's true name elevates her relationship with cold from immense production to demonstrated dominance over freezing energy controlled by another being. Her principal weaknesses are early involuntary discharge, high consumption during large techniques, relatively low physical defense, and opponents whose heat or magical level exceeds what her ice can suppress. (Chapters 160–170, 202, 221–233, and 258–342)

Innate ice ability and mana overflow

Ina awakens the ability to freeze matter and generate ice, but the corpus does not establish the exact date, trigger, or source of that awakening. Her mana continually leaks with enough force to freeze people she touches and makes ordinary proximity dangerous; before Revival finds her, this lack of control causes fatal accidents including her parents' deaths. In the Ice Castle she can form flower-like crystals with a wave, freeze surrounding space, launch cutting ice, and command existing ice structures, but allies are caught in the same output unless Ruyue contains it. (Chapters 160–163)

The abundance sustaining that danger is also her greatest resource. Her reserve rivals Hwaya's and Shin's before she becomes an explorer and may be the largest among Earth's Awakened. She survives extended isolation without proper food, flies, accelerates her body through mana, and can expend power aggressively because clearing a dungeon floor restores her health and mana. Material limits still apply: sustained maximum use can exhaust her, and her Ice Castle teleportation is not available after leaving that specialized environment. (Chapters 160–170)

Explorer growth turns involuntary cold into precise control. By Chapter 221, Ina can deliberately chill Licorice without freezing Shin or the surrounding passengers, and later touches allies and ordinary objects safely. Her body and output rise through ranks from Silver to Gold and eventually Beyond, but the story does not name a specific dungeon skill responsible for the improvement. The progression is demonstrated through safer contact, controlled flight, selective targeting, and a final reserve large enough to help form a two-million-mana seal. (Chapters 202–221, 258, and 342)

Ice Age and large-scale construction

Ice Age releases intense cold over a wide battlefield and forms lotus-like ice capable of destroying dozens of Destroyers at once. Ina activates it by calling the name, but the source does not specify a cooldown, exact range, or whether the lotus shapes are required. Its demonstrated cost is substantial enough to make her stagger immediately after use, preventing the attack from being treated as effortless area clearing despite her SSS-rank output. (Chapter 225)

Her broader construction includes crystal barrages, freezing lava, reinforcing enormous sheets of ocean ice, and firing long-range projectiles. Existing cold material improves what she can manipulate, while extreme heat creates direct opposition: the Lava King's flames overpower some of her crystals and drain her mana to its limit. Hwaya's heat can also be beneficial when deliberately combined with Ina's cold, as rapid temperature change shatters the basilisk's armor and their opposed mana can be stabilized by Shin into a larger technique. (Chapters 170, 228–230, 255, and 342)

Skadi and dominion over cold

Ina has obtained the true name Skadi by the Oceania campaign, becoming the fifth Revival member shown to possess a god's true name. The corpus does not narrate the trial or reward through which she earns it. When invoked, holy freezing energy surrounds her, her eyes turn blue, and surrounding cold behaves as her territory. She takes an ice spear from Lespina's control, splits it into thousands of projectiles, and disperses freezing energy inside the demon's body with a pointing gesture. (Chapter 258)

This authority is stronger than simple elemental output because it overrules ice commanded by a world enemy who can nullify dungeon power. Shin interprets the obedience of Lespina's spear as dominance not explainable by mana, while Skadi's manifestation makes the whole sky feel allied with Ina. It does not establish unlimited control over every ice user: Lespina remains a superior overall opponent, and Ina creates an opening rather than winning alone. Ina still accesses a god's power at the ending, though the scene does not explicitly name which manifestation she uses to restrain Shin. (Chapters 258 and 352)

Mobility, cooperation, and limitations

Ina can fly and propel herself at extreme speed by circulating mana, allowing her to operate as a mobile long-range attacker. Her affectionate charges are strong enough for Shin to compare them jokingly to attacks on major enemies, but speed consumes mana and is not teleportation. In raids she is most effective behind durable frontliners, where she can combine cold with Hwaya's fire, remove burning effects from allies, or redirect hostile ice without exposing her comparatively weak body. (Chapters 169–170, 228–233, and 255–258)

Her output is not a substitute for resistance, endurance, or matchup awareness. Ice Age leaves her unsteady, the Lava King's final flames outlast her depleted mana, and the Demon Lord's magical affinity makes Shin exclude her from the decisive party despite her catastrophic effectiveness against lesser demons. The defensive ring awarded after the Lava King battle addresses a known weakness but is equipment-derived rather than an intrinsic improvement. Her latest demonstrated strength is vast, controlled, and divinely reinforced, yet still deployed through coordinated plans and parental judgment. (Chapters 225–233 and 342–343)

Relationships

  • Kang Shin: Shin is the first man able to hold Ina without freezing and accepts the role of her father after rescuing her from the Ice Castle. He appoints her as an explorer, secures her freedom from Russia, publicly claims her as his daughter, and balances indulgent affection with orders that keep her away from opponents she cannot safely defeat. (Chapters 160–170, 199–205, 258–296, and 342–352)
  • Hwaya Eleni Mastiford: Hwaya becomes Ina's mother and primary guardian, gives her a home, and uses fire control to provide safe physical contact and complementary combat. Their joint heat-and-cold attacks break defenses, while their domestic life teaches Ina that power and ordinary family affection can coexist. (Chapters 160–170, 202–205, 228–230, and 326–342)
  • Ruyue: Ruyue first carries food to Ina without allowing it to freeze, contains the dangerous overflow of her ability, and protects Revival when Ina returns to help. As another being closely aligned with ice, she makes safe contact and rescue possible before Ina learns control. (Chapters 160–163)
  • Lespina: Lespina is the first opponent to challenge Ina's authority over cold directly. Ina cannot defeat her alone, but takes control of her ice spear and uses Skadi to disperse her freezing energy, proving that Ina's later dominion reaches beyond her own creations. (Chapter 258)
  • Elfa: Elfa is close to Ina's age and initially competes with her for Shin's attention. Ina restrains her cold even while arguing, and Shin expects the displaced children and his daughter to grow into friends despite the jealous beginning. (Chapters 199 and 204)
  • Kang Yua: Yua is introduced publicly beside Ina as part of Shin's family and fights in the same wider Revival campaigns. Shin's fear of losing either his sister or daughter repeatedly shapes which risks he accepts and which world-enemy missions he assigns to others. (Chapters 204, 218, 276, and 343)

Items

After the Lava King raid, Ina receives an unnamed ring chosen specifically to strengthen her comparatively weak defense. Its precise statistics, maker, and later fate are not supplied, so its effect should not be merged with her innate ice resistance or Skadi's authority. No other separately documented notable item remains personally associated with her. (Chapter 233)
