Ellos Von Kasina

Ellos Von Kasina is an explorer and swordsman from the Edias continent who becomes Kang Shin's first friend in the First Dungeon. An earnest party leader and later the effective head of Edias's allied force, he inherits his world's Hero power after losing his fiancée Baruela. Grief transforms that responsibility into a concealed revenge plan that kills him and nearly kills Shin. (Chapters 4–57, 219, 267–276, and 348)

Biography

Awakening and the First Dungeon

Ellos first meets Shin as the leader of a ten-person Orc Lord party, accompanied by explorers from several worlds. Unlike members who dismiss the mana-less and physically strange newcomer, Ellos accepts Shin's record of solo climbing and invites him after listening to his argument. During the failed first attempt, Ellos holds the Orc Lord's attention with a small shield and short sword, regroups the survivors after temporary deaths, and forms the replacement party. His judgment is imperfect, but his willingness to mediate and retry establishes him as a responsible leader. (Chapters 4–6)

After the victory, Ellos registers Shin as a friend and continues contacting him while their dungeon progress diverges. He cannot share his world's mana cultivation method, but his concern is sincere, and he later teaches Shin the concept called Skill Cancelling. When they reunite four years later, Ellos has become stronger and is engaged to the archer Baruela Atuna; another old companion, Celtine, has permanently died protecting the party. Shin criticizes the group's insufficient resolve and invites Ellos to climb with him, but Ellos stays to improve beside the comrades he leads. (Chapters 7, 38, and 50–57)

World Crises

Ellos later disappears from dungeon communication for months while Edias fights an invading world. When he finally contacts Shin, he reports that the allied force and their Hero are pushing the invaders back and believes the war is nearing victory. His calm voice conceals the exhaustion of sustained conflict, while Shin takes comfort in the possibility that one world might save itself without outside intervention. This exchange preserves Ellos's established identity as a composed defender before the later campaign reveals what the war has cost him. (Chapter 219)

Guardians and World Enemies

By the Edias mission, Ellos is Count Kasina's eldest son, royal guard to Crown Prince Paul, disciple of the continent's missing Hero, and the true operational head of the allied force. Baruela has been killed by the invaders. Ellos asks Shin to help locate the Hero, presents a magical tool that appears to show multiple possible positions, and personally guides him into the mana-dense Peruta Mountain. His stiff manner and route conceal that the Hero is already dead and that Ellos has cooperated with the world enemy Hazen to bring another world's Hero into a trap. (Chapters 267–274)

Ellos has not truly joined Hazen. After inheriting Edias's Hero power and the authority of Kahar, the God of Concealment and Vengeance, he hides both his new status and his intention to betray everyone involved. He breaks out of Ruyue's ice, admits that Baruela's death determined his answer, and drives his sword into the enormous crystal powering Hazen's scheme. The resulting detonation consumes Ellos and Hazen and nearly kills Shin. Ellos achieves revenge, but does so by treating his friend, himself, and the surviving needs of Edias as acceptable sacrifices. (Chapters 274–275)

Shin absorbs Edias's released world power in the aftermath and initially reacts with anger rather than grief. He can understand why Baruela's death destroyed Ellos's priorities but cannot forgive a plan that used another person without consent and abandoned an entire continent's future. Reflection leaves him empty as well as furious: Ellos had encouraged him on the fifth floor, respected him, and shared the desire to protect their worlds, yet their limited bond was not enough to prevent mutual suspicion and betrayal. Shin returns to the empire determined to choose Paul as a new Hero candidate rather than let Ellos's final decision condemn Edias. (Chapter 276)

Final Wave and the Dungeon's End

Ellos does not return during the final wave. When Shin later considers people manipulated through the dungeon's conflicts, he remembers Ellos as a passionate man selected for the First Dungeon who found love, lost her to a world enemy, and decided that one woman mattered more than himself or his world. Shin classifies the revenge scheme as an enemy act while still recognizing the grief and external pressures that led to it. Ellos's final narrative status remains death, with no resurrection, surviving spirit, or renewed explorer connection shown. (Chapter 348)

Appearance and personality

At his first appearance, Ellos is a lightly built, handsome young swordsman whom Shin later remembers as having a “pretty boy” face. Four years of growth make his body muscular and his features noticeably manlier, to the point Shin thinks he could work as an actor on Earth. He initially carries a short sword and small shield, later wears full armor as a royal guard, and shares a silver engagement ring with Baruela. The corpus does not provide stable hair or eye colors. (Chapters 4, 54, and 269)

Ellos is initially diplomatic, sincere, loyal to weaker companions, and willing to place himself on the front line when a plan fails. He maintains friendships across years and accepts criticism without abandoning his party. War and Baruela's death preserve his ability to appear calm but invert the purpose beneath it: patience, leadership, and concealment become tools for a revenge plan. His final choice is deliberate rather than a momentary frenzy, joining genuine love and grief to a willingness to destroy people who trusted him. (Chapters 4–7, 54–57, 219, and 269–276)

Powers and abilities

Swordsman, shield bearer, and party leader

Ellos fights with a sword and shield and has the dungeon class Knight. In the Orc Lord raid he tanks direct attacks after another party member is removed, creates room for the healer and damage dealers, and keeps the party organized through repeated attempts. Continued training makes him substantially more muscular and capable, while his explanation of Skill Cancelling shows technical knowledge beyond basic weapon use. The corpus does not give him a complete named skill list or enough direct battles to rank his later swordsmanship precisely. (Chapters 4–6, 18, 38, and 54–57)

His most consistent ability is command. Ellos recruits across different worlds, keeps a party together after permanent death, directs imperial soldiers, plans routes through occupied territory, and becomes the real head of Edias's allied force. That same credibility makes his betrayal effective: Paul, the empire, Hazen, and Shin all have reasons to accept his guidance. Leadership is therefore both his constructive contribution and the mechanism by which he brings Shin to Peruta Mountain. (Chapters 4–7, 54–57, and 267–274)

Hero of Edias

After Edias's previous Hero dies, Ellos inherits the world's Hero power. Hazen identifies him as the former Hero's disciple and the new bearer, but Ellos conceals the transfer even from Shin. The exact physical enhancements and full authority attached to the position are not enumerated before his death. Its confirmed consequences include possession of Edias's world power, access to a god's authority, resistance sufficient to break Ruyue's restraint, and a duty to preserve the continent that his revenge ultimately rejects. (Chapters 274–276)

When Ellos dies, the world power leaves his body and is caught in Shin's Peruta Circuit along with the surrounding mana. This transfer is accidental rather than an explicit bequest, and Shin keeps it isolated from his existing world's power. Ellos's death therefore ends his own Hero tenure while creating the need for a replacement. Shin's subsequent intention to make Paul the next candidate confirms that Edias cannot safely remain without someone willing to protect it. (Chapter 276)

Kahar, concealment, and vengeance

Ellos wields the power of Kahar, the God of Concealment and Vengeance. Concealment hides his Hero status, plan, and power from both Hazen and Shin until he chooses to reveal them. Vengeance manifests through a blood-red force linked to his sword and the crystal at Peruta Mountain. The authority is strong enough to destabilize the magical tool and destroy the plan around it, but its operation is explicitly self-destructive and tied to Ellos's willingness to die. Kahar's power is not demonstrated as a reusable combat style under ordinary conditions. Ellos embeds his sword in the crystal, links his body to the resulting catastrophe, and is consumed in the same event that kills Hazen. His arm and body begin breaking apart as the power runs out of control. The result makes vengeance effective as a final trap but supplies no evidence that Ellos could safely sustain or repeatedly direct it in a conventional battle. (Chapters 274–275)

• Kang Shin: Ellos is Shin's first dungeon friend, an early source of encouragement and technical knowledge, and later the person who lures him into Hazen's trap. Shin understands the grief behind the plan but cannot forgive being used as expendable bait, leaving their relationship defined by real early respect and an irreversible final betrayal. (Chapters 4–7, 38, 50–57, and 267–276)
• Baruela Atuna: Baruela is Ellos's archer companion and fiancée, identified by the matching silver rings they wear. Her death at the hands of Edias's invaders becomes the center of his remaining life: he accepts the Hero's power, manipulates both sides, and dies to avenge her even at the cost of his world and friend. (Chapters 54 and 274–276)
• Paul Von Cravis: Paul is Ellos's old party member, crown prince, and later the imperial superior Ellos serves as royal guard. Although Paul believes Ellos better suited to command, Ellos's suicide leaves him and the empire without their effective military leader. • Palludia Gren Ehuir: Palludia is part of Ellos's original cross-world party and continues climbing with him after Shin falls behind. • Sherafina: Sherafina selects and manages the explorer system in which Ellos rises, becomes a Hero, and dies.
