Shangguan Longyin — Heavenly Jewel Change

Shangguan Longyin is the ZhongTian Empire's Skill Storing Palace Master and the recurring chief judge of the Heavenly Jewel Tournament. He stands between public competition and Saint Land politics: enforcing rules before hundreds of thousands of spectators, containing dangerous contestants, assessing unfamiliar Skills, and quietly converting promising outsiders into relationships useful to Heaven's Expanse Palace.

Biography

Making tournament authority credible

Emperor Shangguan Tianxin appoints Shangguan Longyin overall judge of the Heavenly Jewel Tournament and places the Skill Storing Palace's staff under him. His first responsibility is institutional rather than personal: he must make lethal competition appear consistent enough that empires and Great Saint Lands accept its results. When the Dan Dun team protests a death, two spoken words from his seat reach the whole plaza but daze only the people on stage. He then refuses to rewrite the result, explaining that the tournament permits lethal outcomes and that anyone unwilling to accept the rules may withdraw. Precision and impartial procedure make his authority believable where raw force alone would look partisan. (Chapters 72 and 86)

The confrontation between Zhou Weiqing and Shen Little Demon tests that balance. Ordered to preserve Zhou if necessary, Longyin hides close enough to intervene but cannot prevent their fastest attacks. When both teams surge toward the stage afterward, his aura presses every combatant to the ground and seals the air around Zhou. He examines the controlled Demonic Change with Heavenly Dao Energy, publicly rules that Zhou is not a Heavenly Demon Sect heretic, confirms the result, and still carries Shen Little Demon away for treatment. The decision protects a talent Heaven's Expanse values without pretending that the injured Saint Land heir does not matter. (Chapters 86–88)

Turning a poisonous crisis into a political settlement

Longyin discovers that Shen Little Demon's injury is a three-attribute venom he cannot cure, despite his rank and specialist knowledge. Rather than coerce Zhou's team, he negotiates. He guarantees that Blood Red Hell retaliation over the match will also be treated as an offense against ZhongTian, supplies Heavenly Dragon Holy Fruit juice, guides its healing energy through Zhou's shattered meridians, and offers every team member a free Skill Storing opportunity. The concessions save Shen Little Demon, secure Zhou's cooperation, and deliberately open a relationship with the Fei Li team. (Chapter 89)

That relationship develops through exchange rather than simple recruitment. Longyin approaches Zhou about the Immortal Deity Technique, carries the counteroffer of three custom God Tier scrolls and exceptional island access, and gives the inexperienced Fei Li finalists a small but consequential warning about the format ahead. After they qualify, he personally leads the four teams through the guarded route to Heavenly Jewel Island, warns them about the Lustre Spatial Realm, supplies evacuation gems and provisions, and coordinates the Spatial formation that sends them inside. He also grants Zhou unrestricted Skill Storing access, which Zhou uses against Heavenly Beasts far above his cultivation. (Chapters 89–99)

When the Lustre finals end in a dragon crisis, Longyin receives the returning contestants, arranges care for the wounded, questions Shangguan Fei'er about what occurred, and escorts Zhou through his reward negotiations with the two Palace Masters. He verifies that the apparently suicidal Immortal Deity Technique is genuinely being cultivated, carries Zhou between restricted facilities, and arranges both scroll production and accommodation. His position is powerful but not supreme: inside Heaven's Expanse Palace he stands respectfully before Shangguan Tianyang and executes decisions made by the two Palace Masters. (Chapters 104–110)

A second tournament under greater strain

Three years later Longyin again serves as chief judge. He recognizes Zhou beneath the Heavenly Bow team's concealment, watches the Peerless soldiers for military intelligence, and counters Zhou's betting manipulation on the Emperor's orders. When spectators accuse Zhou of fixing a match they cannot understand, Longyin uses his reputation to guarantee no rule was broken while also exposing Zhou as the strongest contestant he has judged. His intervention restores public order but frustrates Zhou's attempt to remain underestimated, illustrating how institutional transparency can conflict with a competitor's strategy. The Dan Dun confrontation requires more direct protection. Longyin personally judges the match so he can prevent unnecessary deaths and blocks an enraged Tianma from breaking the rules. A later clash grows powerful enough that the two Palace Masters must suppress it before it devastates ZhongTian City; Longyin takes responsibility for the aftermath. He does not excuse the damage, but he recognizes that Zhou and Tian'er used their greatest power to survive and rules according to the match rather than punishing the result retroactively. For the finals, Longyin confronts a danger he cannot personally investigate: entry to the Lustre Spatial Realm is restricted to people under thirty, and prior investigators have failed to explain its changes. He gives the teams provisions, describes the risk plainly, makes information rather than combat the championship objective, and repeatedly instructs them to use their Lustre Gems rather than gamble their lives. His latest appearance therefore leaves him in the same role with which he began, but under higher stakes—using limited knowledge, controlled procedure, and evacuation infrastructure to make a dangerous institution survivable. Appearance and personality

Shangguan Longyin has simple features, deep and piercing eyes, and an immense aura. At the tournament he appears imposing and strict, his impassive face and fierce gaze compared to a sheathed sword. He commonly wears white on Heavenly Jewel Island, where his controlled bearing fits the Palace personnel and mist-shrouded setting. (Chapters 72, 88, and 96)

He is stern, observant, politically experienced, and more flexible than his public severity suggests. Longyin can insist on rules before a hostile crowd, privately favor a valuable contestant, bargain patiently, and admit when an unfamiliar Skill exceeds his knowledge. He values life enough to warn finalists repeatedly and seek treatment even for rivals, but he also understands that these acts create obligations and alliances useful to ZhongTian. Abilities and cultivation

Longyin is explicitly a Heavenly King-stage powerhouse during the first tournament. By the second, Zhou judges from the increased force of his voice that he is not far from Heavenly Emperor. The corpus does not show the breakthrough occurring within scope. As Skill Storing Palace Master he also commands enormous institutional resources, but that access should not be confused with personal ownership of every Skill or treasure held by the Palace. Heavenly Dao Energy and precision control

Longyin's Heavenly Energy reaches the crystalline-white Heavenly Dao stage. He can project words across the ZhongTian Plaza while directing their stunning force only at selected people, seal the air around a target, suspend bodies without touching them, suppress groups with his aura, and use energy barriers to stop rule-breaking attacks. These feats show exceptional range and control, though they are not given formal Skill names. The speed of Shen Little Demon's desperate fusion attack still exceeds his reaction window, demonstrating that proximity and power do not make intervention infallible. (Chapters 86–89 and 220)

Diagnosis, healing support, and Stored Skill expertise

His specialist knowledge lets him identify attributes and rare Stored Skills, evaluate Demonic Change for external seals, and infer that Zhou's three-part venom is an inborn bloodline effect rather than a normally Stored fusion. He can channel medicine through damaged meridians and temporarily alleviate pain, but he cannot purge that venom; only its source can safely reclaim it within the first-tournament crisis. At the second tournament even he cannot immediately identify several Saint Energy transformations, showing that Zhou's later development exceeds the established Skill Storing system he administers. Spatial administration and combat reputation

Longyin coordinates ten Upper Level Zong Stage Spatial practitioners to open the Lustre Realm and can move through Heaven's Expanse facilities in bright teleport-like flashes. The text does not explicitly identify his own Elemental Jewel Attributes or name these movement techniques, so his personal possession of Spatial Attribute remains unconfirmed. His direct combat is mostly off-page, but Heavenly King Han Tianyou recalls losing two fingers and suffering serious injury against Longyin's superior Consolidated Equipment before later reaching Heavenly King himself. Relationships

Zhou Weiqing: Longyin first studies Zhou as a dangerous talent, then becomes negotiator, protector, escort, and sometimes exasperated regulator. Their mutual respect survives repeated bargaining because each recognizes the other's practical intelligence.
Shen Little Demon: He treats her as both a contestant subject to the rules and the daughter of an old friend. Saving her requires him to guarantee Zhou's safety and expose the limits of his own healing knowledge.
Shangguan Tianyang: Longyin serves as a trusted senior official but defers to the First Palace Master inside Heaven's Expanse Palace, carrying out negotiations, verification, transport, and tournament policy on his behalf.
Shangguan Fei'er: He disciplines her for secretly entering the first finals yet treats her with familial tolerance. Her eyewitness account helps him assess Zhou's links and conduct in the Lustre Realm.
Han Tianyou: Their earlier off-page fight costs Han Tianyou two fingers and becomes part of his grievance against Heaven's Expanse Palace, evidence that Longyin's administrative manner rests on serious combat ability.

Spatial Teleportation Gem: Longyin does not possess or operate this Xuantian treasure within the supplied chapters. Its later importance grows from the failing Lustre Spatial Realm that he administers: the gem offers Zhou a way to remove the trapped dragons without destroying Heavenly Jewel Island or ZhongTian City.
