Nether Lord
The Nether Lord is the consciousness formed from the Boundless Mainland's accumulated negative emotions and the source behind the Destruction power used by Fen Tian and his allies. Its effort to escape the Netherworld drives both the Saint Lands war and the final struggle over the ancient seal.
Biography
Turning human conflict into an escape route
Resentment, hatred, fear, and bloodlust first accumulated into Destruction Energy, opened the Animus Realm, and eventually developed the consciousness called the Nether Lord. Ancient Dragon and Elf forces failed to kill it after it hid and grew; a former Elven Empress sacrificed herself to weaken it, and the Dragon Emperor led the formation of a seal that cut it off from outside enmity. The Nether Lord later opened tiny fissures, contacted Blood Red Hell, and used war and sacrifice to restore its strength. Fen Tian serves as its puppet and borrows one-third of its power, while the sacrificed children of Hui Yao and Duo Si allow Destruction Energy to enslave the adult dragons. When Zhou's Genesis Time Law reduces Fen Tian to childhood, the Nether Lord withdraws its incorporeal thought by killing its own puppet and warns that its true body is already attacking the seal. (Chapters 829–838)
Breaking the old seal at its weakest point
The Nether Lord's decade of assaults cracks the seal and mortally wounds its central guardian. When Zhou Weiqing, Tian'er, the Elven Empress, and fresh Dragon forces arrive, it exploits Hui Yao and Duo Si's grief by crushing their children's captive souls; the resulting bloodline disruption tears open the formation and lets its front claws emerge. Life Saint Energy can slow it but cannot directly threaten its pure Destruction, while Zhou's Creation-aligned Saint Energy can perfect the seal and cut off the negative emotions required to sustain its existence. The Nether Lord therefore spends its slowly replenished Ultimate Destruction Energy to isolate Zhou from outside laws and attack him, but the Dragon Emperor sacrifices his life and bloodline to cancel the strike and hold the claws long enough for Zhou to become the formation's core. (Chapters 839–844)
Choosing survival through self-destruction
As Zhou links the twelve Divine Beasts and closes every fissure, the Nether Lord cannot win the direct contest of attrition against the amplified seal. It stops resisting, detonates its own front claws, and uses the resulting vortex not to break free but to drag Zhou and Tian'er into the Netherworld before the last opening closes. The scheme leaves it maimed, below the Heavenly Change Tier, and unable to absorb outside negativity, but it expects that killing the only two Saint Energy cultivators will let the seal decay after roughly a decade. Zhou instead survives its attacks long enough for the couple's unborn Saint Baby to transform their power into Genesis Saint Energy, leaving the Nether Lord depleted and unable to hide. In Chapter 848, the arriving blue-haired god traps it with eight spear-like legs and erases its remaining soul without a trace. The Netherworld remains as a sink for negative emotion, but the consciousness that ruled it is permanently destroyed. (Chapters 845–848)
Appearance and personality
The Nether Lord has an immense crab-like body roughly a kilometer wide, with eight long legs, two front claws, and a pair of green eyes like distant suns. Its shell is patterned with innumerable human faces expressing anger, panic, resentment, and other negative emotions. Damage from the detonation of its claws leaves gaps near the front of the body. Its projected voice is neither distinctly male nor female and can tug at listeners' emotions. (Chapters 833, 840, and 846)
It is patient, greedy, manipulative, and intensely self-preserving. It hides for ages when weaker, bargains with servants for borrowed power, weaponizes bereaved parents' emotions, and willingly kills Fen Tian or destroys parts of its own body when doing so preserves a later opportunity. Its ambitions extend beyond escaping: it plans to consume the Boundless Mainland as a source of strength and ultimately govern by devouring more of the universe. (Chapters 829, 835, and 840–848)
Abilities and cultivation
At full strength the Nether Lord is a Heavenly Change Tier entity composed of refined Destruction Energy and resentment rather than an ordinary material life-form. Its power is the polar opposite of Creation Energy. It must continually absorb negative emotions to maintain and strengthen itself; a perfected Saint Energy seal therefore threatens not merely confinement but gradual disappearance. Heavy use also depletes its finite origin reserve, which requires a long time and renewed external negativity to rebuild. (Chapters 835, 837–842, and 846)
Its Destruction Thought can pass beyond restrictions that affect living bodies, possess or speak through a puppet, and survive Zhou's Genesis Time Law. Through Fen Tian, a one-third share produces a vast devouring field and energy purer than ordinary Saint Energy. The true body's Ultimate Destruction Energy destroys Zhou's condensed Saint attack, cuts him off from external attributes and laws, and is the accumulated source used to crack the seal; because the reserve diminishes with every use, the Nether Lord saves it for Saint Energy and decisive assaults. (Chapters 833–835 and 841–842)
Within the Netherworld it moves at Blink-like speed, while opponents cannot access local Spatial Law. Eight legs project green Destruction Origin Energy that can combine with power gathered between its hands, and its claws carry enough force to breach the formation physically. Its strongest Skill, the Eye of Destruction, merges two green energy masses around a black center and once cracked the seal while the Nether Lord was in its prime. After its claws self-destruct and the completed seal cuts off replenishment, however, every use of origin energy becomes irreversible attrition. (Chapters 845–847)
Relationships
- Fen Tian: Fen Tian is the Nether Lord's servant and puppet, given Destruction power in exchange for advancing its escape. The Nether Lord treats him as expendable and kills him once his body becomes a liability.
- Zhou Weiqing: Zhou's Saint Energy can perfect the old seal and cut off the Nether Lord's sustenance, making him the decisive threat. The Nether Lord alternates between assassination, temptation, emotional manipulation, and forced removal into the Netherworld.
- Tian'er: Tian'er is both a second source of Saint Energy capable of maintaining the seal and Zhou's emotional vulnerability. Her decision to enter the Netherworld seems to aid the Nether Lord until their unborn child awakens Genesis power.
- Elven Empress: The current Empress inherits her people's duty to contain the Nether Lord. Her Life Saint Energy restrains its projections and stabilizes the formation, though it requires Zhou's Creation-aligned Saint Energy to become directly existential.
- Hui Yao: The Nether Lord uses Hui Yao's children as a blood sacrifice, enslaves him with Destruction Energy, and later crushes the children's souls to disrupt the dragon-blood foundation of the seal.
Items
- No separate equipment is documented. The front claws, eight legs, Destruction Origin Energy, and Eye of Destruction all belong to the Nether Lord's manifested body and cultivation rather than to removable artifacts. (Chapters 840–848)
