Lei Zi

Lei Zi is a battle-hardened officer and offensive Earth Attribute Heavenly Jewel Master who rises from military exile to command the Peerless Battalion's First Main Company. Proud enough to challenge both Shangguan Fei'er and Zhou Weiqing, he accepts the new command structure only after repeated proof of its strength. He subsequently leads the battalion's airborne elite, opens Crescent City's gates during the Heavenly Bow restoration, and holds one of the city's walls during a four-sided siege.

Biography

Exile and a second chance among ruffians

Lei Zi is introduced at twenty-seven as a six-Jeweled free cultivator and former company leader in the Central North Army's all-Jewel-Master battalion. He had killed his battalion commander's younger brother; only his accumulated military merits keep him alive when he is exiled to the Ruffian Battalion, where he eventually becomes battalion commander. The Peerless Battalion gives his stalled career another opening inside a larger force built around Jewel Masters. (Chapter 154)

He dominates the Peerless Battalion competition, defeats older company leaders, and demands the battalion commander's post. Fei'er repeatedly beats him without using Consolidated Equipment or Stored Skills, eventually forcing him to accept her superiority. His victory in the competition still earns him command of the First Main Company, but he remains unconvinced that the absent Zhou deserves overall authority. (Chapter 154)

Challenge, defeat, and forced discipline

When Zhou returns, Lei Zi immediately invokes the battalion's meritocratic rules and challenges him for command. He attacks as soon as their handshake ends and uses battlefield experience, raw Heavenly Energy, Earth defenses, and area attacks without concern for gentlemanly form. Zhou dismantles the offense with controlled low-level skills, destroys Lei Zi's strongest Earth Dragon Transmigration, restrains him, and applies the Blood Rites Seal of Darkness by force. Lei Zi continues leading the First Main Company and is promised release from the seal if he performs well in the rescue of the Gold Crow and Berserker tribes. Commander of the First Main Company Air Force

In the northern war, Lei Zi repeatedly asks to launch his five hundred wing-equipped elites against the Eagle Tribesmen Air Force. Hua Feng initially refuses because enemy altitude and falling javelins could destroy the company before it reached firing range. Once the javelin barrage slackens, Fei'er leads the ascent and draws the enemy powerhouses; Lei Zi follows with shields raised, closes the distance, and directs a salvo that devastates the disordered Eagle formation. His eagerness becomes effective only when paired with the commander's timing and Fei'er's protection. (Chapter 167)

Opening and defending Crescent City

By the attack on Crescent City, Lei Zi has reached seven Jewels and the low Zong Stage. Zhou entrusts him with fifty elite soldiers disguised inside the city, ordering him to open the gate without losing anyone. Lei Zi clears the ordinary Kalise defenders, takes the gate in coordination with aerial suppression, and then arrests the city's officials while proclaiming the Heavenly Bow Empire's return. As First Main Company commander, he efficiently gathers civilian witnesses for the next battle but chafes when Zhou keeps his airborne troops in reserve. During the later siege, Zhou assigns Lei Zi to stabilize one of four walls despite noting that he is weaker than Tian'er or Shangguan Xue'er. Lei Zi is introduced as a physically imposing young officer in his late twenties, strengthened by six Icy Jade Physical Jewels. Lei Zi has Strength-Attribute Icy Jade Physical Jewels and Earth-Attribute Elemental Jewels. Lei Zi combines six-to-seven-Jewel Heavenly Energy with extensive military experience and a willingness to fight through danger. As leader of the First Main Company Air Force, he uses Consolidated wings, bows, small round shields, titanium armor, and formation salvos. Personal wings offer greater agility and firepower than mounted flight but consume Heavenly Energy and require a protected approach against higher-altitude missile attacks. • Zhou Weiqing: Lei Zi challenges Zhou's authority, is decisively defeated and forcibly sealed, then comes to admire him and execute vital missions as a trusted company commander.
