Arthur

Arthur Kingsley is a lightning-wielding demigod created and raised by Kronos. First known as an isolated but extraordinarily capable academy entrant, Arthur becomes one of Earth's senior defenders and a Stage 5 God. His search for belonging in the Zeus Clan eventually becomes a conflict with Zeus, whose bloodline was used as the foundation for Arthur's creation.

Biography

An isolated Kingsley at the ranking tournament

Arthur reaches the academy after growing up so far outside demigod society that he does not understand why the surname “Kingsley” alarms other students. Harassment leaves him bruised and hungry, yet he helps an equally battered Felix back to their dorm and accepts food from Neo with guarded gratitude. The three recognize that each has been socially isolated for a different reason, giving Arthur his first dependable peer group before the ranking tournament begins. (Chapter 40)

When Zeus Clan students kidnap Felix, Arthur does not accept their status as a reason to retreat. He trusts Neo's plan, fights the remaining clan contingent while Nathan is concealed, and uses lightning, sound, and misdirection to open a route to Felix. Felix then refuses the captors' expected betrayal and reveals stolen rank tokens; Arthur later gives Felix the higher placement of the pair. Their alliance therefore stops being merely convenient and becomes an early pattern of reciprocal protection. (Chapters 43–46 and 51)

The Shadow mission and Zeus's blood

At Demigod Academy, Arthur's technical knowledge becomes as important as his raw strength. He advises Neo on affinity control, understands rare lightning techniques, and draws enough attention that students place him among the generation's exceptional fighters. The S-rank Window mission turns that reputation against the group: Arthur's Shadow reproduces his capabilities as an autonomous enemy. Actions taken by the separated Shadow belong to that copy, not to Arthur, but its danger shows why the team is repeatedly warned not to confront it directly. (Chapters 57, 80, 100, 107, and 112)

The mission also exposes Arthur's emotional limit. When a teammate dies, Neo coldly calls her too weak, provoking Arthur to strike him and accuse him of treating a friend's death as a calculation. Arthur later controls himself, apologizes for the outburst, and continues the rescue rather than abandoning the mission. Afterward, the Sphinx tells him that he bears Zeus's purest blood and calls him the rightful Kingsley; under the pressure of recent deaths, Arthur hears the revelation less as a claim to prestige than as another reason to blame himself. (Chapters 114–119 and 130)

Friendship, study, and harder training

Arthur remains the studious member of Neo's academy circle. He answers questions about elemental clash, takes genuine interest in history and spell theory, and keeps training with blades while his friends pursue their own specialties. His seriousness does not make him aloof: after Neo returns from a period of distorted time, Arthur and Felix overwhelm him with relieved affection, then rebuild their ordinary group life around classes, meals, games, and preparation for increasingly dangerous missions. (Chapters 147, 160, 171, 188, and 216)

That loyalty is tested when Felix receives the sentient True Soul Weapon Venyth. Arthur tries to intervene when the weapon's first pressure makes Felix bleed, but respects Felix's refusal of help. Later, when Neo uses a lethal confrontation to force Felix to train seriously enough to resist Venyth's influence, Arthur struggles to stand and shield Felix despite his own injuries. He remains Neo's ally, but his actions make clear that friendship does not mean approving Neo's increasingly coercive methods. (Chapters 199, 201, 349, and 350)

Kronos's weapon and the Zeus Clan years

Kronos's preserved record reveals that Arthur was not born through an ordinary family line. Kronos used Zeus's bloodline as a base, added bloodlines from many gods, and incorporated the limitless potential associated with Hades's bloodline, creating a Spell-born child meant to answer the prophesied Holy War. Long before Arthur awakened his Godblood, Kronos's controlled clone trained him to hunt mystical beasts in isolation. The training was brutal, but Kronos regarded the created child as his real grandson and left the record so Arthur would eventually learn both his purpose and that affection. (Chapters 545–546)

After graduating near the head of his class, Arthur joins the Zeus Clan and is treated as a “bastard child.” Repeated harsh assignments keep him away from friends, yet he survives the clan's prejudice and becomes a war hero who helps defend his continent. Over millennia, the cheerful and hopeful student becomes reserved and merciless in manner. When he learns that Zeus murdered Kronos, old admiration becomes hatred; nevertheless, Arthur suppresses an immediate confrontation and returns to Earth first because the planet's emergency matters more than revenge. (Chapters 568, 570, and 690)

Reconciliation, singularity, and restoration

Neo's violent homecoming leaves Arthur and Felix unable to defend him in the moment, but Arthur later chooses action over excuses. After Percival explains Neo's sacrifices during the Age of Gods, Arthur insists that Neo has already carried too much and commits to facing the Ancient Dragon crisis beside him. He also accepts access to the Path of Eternal Transcendence and helps organize its distribution, although the narrative never identifies which of his seven offered Legendary classes he selects. (Chapters 700 and 719–721)

At the Sites, Arthur retrieves Felix's body while Amelia de Beaufort and Percival try to restore the fallen. With no ordinary Life Flame strong enough to answer the Ancient Dragon Laplace, Arthur risks his Singularity and embodies Zeus. The copied Zeus identity nearly overwhelms his own, illustrating the cost of using a vastly stronger existence. Arthur, Felix, and Percival are later erased with the Site, but Neo's subsequent restoration returns them; Arthur is alive within the Sect, where even his friends remain concerned about his unresolved determination to confront Zeus. (Chapters 741, 747, 752, 823, and 826)

Appearance and personality

Arthur is introduced as an exceptionally handsome young man with golden locks. By the late reunion he is described as blond, seated with a straight back, folded arms, and a neutral expression whose quiet presence carries weight. That visual restraint reflects the change reported by people who knew of his youth: prolonged clan missions and war replace an openly cheerful manner with a harder, more controlled bearing. (Chapters 40, 690, 700, and 719)

At his core, Arthur is protective, conscientious, and intellectually curious. He rescues Felix without demanding repayment, objects when Neo dismisses a dead companion, and continues studying theory even among unusually gifted combatants. He can be naïve about society and awkward in conversation, but he is not passive. When frightened or angry, he acts directly, then is capable of acknowledging an overreaction and returning to the larger responsibility. (Chapters 40, 45–46, 57, 114, 147, and 177)

His late severity is tempered by restraint rather than the absence of feeling. Arthur hates Zeus enough to risk everything for a confrontation, yet delays revenge when Earth is threatened and later accepts Chronos's counsel inside the Sect. He also expresses remorse toward Neo indirectly: pride prevents a full apology, but Arthur offers cooperation and refuses to let Neo shoulder the next war alone. (Chapters 690, 720, and 826)

Powers and limitations

Elemental spellcraft

Arthur's signature power is precise golden lightning, supported by broad knowledge of elemental interactions and formal spellcraft. He also uses Sound affinity, including a Banshee Scream and detection methods, as well as concealment, truth-sensing, and weapon techniques. In the early Shadow encounter he says that the Holy affinity needed against that enemy has not yet awakened. An opponent later guesses that Arthur's concealment might be Resonance or Reverberation ranked, but the uncertain estimate is not a confirmed spell rank. (Chapters 41, 45–46, 57, 107, 112, 114, and 147)

Body, bloodlines, and swordsmanship

Even before Godblood awakening, Arthur can hunt mystical creatures through the physical conditioning imposed by Kronos. His created body combines Zeus's bloodline with numerous other divine bloodlines, while Hades-derived potential is intended to let him grow beyond ordinary gene limits without consuming a Sacred Treasure. He fights with daggers and swords alongside his spells and continues correction-guided sword drills after reaching Stage 5, showing that technical practice remains necessary despite divine existence. (Chapters 45, 125, 545–546, 700, and 739)

Devil existence and the Singularity of Oneself

Arthur is a Devil whose existence pressure does not automatically crush weaker people. His singularity, [I] — the Singularity of Oneself, breaks the law separating individual identities. By entering the Sea of All Consciousness, he can embody another connected Life Flame and reproduce that being's identity and power. The technique is dangerous: embodying someone far stronger can make Arthur lose himself permanently, while isolated Life Flames and beings whose flame reflects only a fragment of a much larger consciousness cannot be mirrored completely. (Chapters 719, 747, and 761)

Path of Eternal Transcendence

Neo grants Arthur access to the Path and offers seven Legendary classes spanning elemental control, swordsmanship, justice, vengeance, and guardianship. Arthur reads their details and closes the selection screen, but the text does not name his chosen class or a numerical Path level. Neo also warns that foreign classes and skills must be made part of the user slowly; taking on too much can warp an existence that lacks Neo's unusual ability to merge with foreign powers. (Chapter 721)

Relationships

Felix

Felix is Arthur's closest continuing academy companion. Arthur helps Felix after harassment, risks a clan battle to rescue them, and voluntarily gives Felix a higher tournament placement. Felix in turn refuses to betray Arthur after the rescue and later recognizes him even when his singularity has embodied Zeus. Their friendship persists through graduation, war, and the Site expedition, with each repeatedly acting to preserve the other's life or agency. (Chapters 40, 43–46, 51, 199, 350, and 747)

Neo Hargraves

Arthur trusts Neo's tactical judgment early and treats him as a friend, but repeatedly resists Neo's emotional detachment and coercion. The dead teammate in the Shadow mission and Neo's treatment of Felix bring that conflict into the open. Millennia later, Arthur understands more of what Neo endured and chooses to repair the relationship through shared responsibility, insisting that Neo no longer face every catastrophe alone. (Chapters 44–46, 114, 160, 350, and 719–721)

Kronos and Zeus

Kronos is Arthur's creator, trainer, and grandfather in every emotional sense, even though Arthur is a Spell-born child. Zeus supplies the foundational bloodline but is not a conventional father. Arthur once admires him and seeks the Zeus Clan as family; learning that Zeus murdered Kronos turns that longing into hatred. Their conflict becomes inseparable from Arthur's singularity when the only viable battlefield form is an embodiment of the man he most wants to destroy. (Chapters 40, 130, 545–546, 568, 690, 747, and 826)

Items

Arthur routinely uses ordinary daggers and swords, but no individually catalogued artifact is established as his permanent personal item. Kronos's preserved Intent record is placed inside Arthur by Neo and set to reveal itself after a future rank condition; it is a stored message about Arthur's origin rather than a combat possession. (Chapters 45, 125, 545–546, and 739)
