Spiera is the high angel who develops the Great Cosmos-Severing Spear and teaches its foundation to Yu IlHan. Her disciplined loyalty to Heaven first makes her his contracted guardian and field ally, then places her against him when he and Erta reject the institution she still serves. After dying in an uncompromising spear duel, she returns as the controlling soul of the Blade of the Avenger, helps destroy God, and is restored as an eighth-class dragon.

Biography

Heaven’s uncompromising soldier

Spiera first appears after personally executing an angel she judges to be a traitor. She is a veteran sixth-class high angel, Liera’s senior, and a front-line soldier on the Wall of Chaos. Her worldview rests on division of responsibility: Heaven’s Army protects the larger order, while lower existences must survive and grow within restrictions that keep divine factions from openly conquering their worlds. That conviction makes her harsh toward disobedience, but not indifferent to lower existences. She pushes Heaven to recognize Earth’s defenders, supports compensation for the institution’s failures, and helps secure the Hourglass of Eternity for IlHan. She respects achievement and accepts personal risk in battle; her flaw is the assumption that a damaged institution remains the only legitimate structure capable of preserving order. Spiera’s discipline is therefore both strength and limitation. It lets subordinates rely on her and gives her the patience to develop a spear art over an immense lifetime. She dislikes those choices but concludes that individual objection cannot change the organization. Her proposed answer remains institutional: bring IlHan into Heaven’s Army so Earth becomes protected territory and his power serves a recognized faction. When Spiera later reunites with IlHan in Dareu, personal trust survives the ideological fracture. Loyalty, charm, and the final duel

The Dareu rescue does not end their ideological break. Spiera later arrives leading Heaven’s forces, calls Erta a traitor, and refuses to abandon soldiers who followed her even when Heaven’s leadership provides no meaningful rescue. This is the noblest and most destructive part of her loyalty: she will not betray subordinates for institutional convenience, yet she continues carrying out the institution’s claim against former companions. Helièna’s charm turns most of the contingent against itself and briefly compromises Spiera. When the Succubus Queen orders the charmed angels to die, Spiera alone resists the command. Spiera and IlHan settle their opposed commitments through a direct spear duel. The Blade of the Avenger

IlHan secretly preserves Spiera’s unusually complete thought-soul and body. When he calls to her during the final war, she reveals that she has remained aware but stayed silent because he already rejected Heaven and surpassed her spear. Student and teacher apologize for trying to force their answers on one another. Spiera then accepts a new request: take vengeance on Michael and God for manipulating the lives and wills of Heaven’s soldiers. (Chapter 338)

Her thought-soul is initially too weak to control the weapon IlHan creates. Under his protection she absorbs selected hostile thought-souls, accepts their resentment and karma, and grows to a league rivaling seventh class. Raphael is the final and most powerful of them. Great Cosmos-Severing Spear is an advanced skill Spiera develops to express her own characteristics through the spear. It aligns a concentrated thrust or sweep with the fabric of space so the attack cuts the intervening dimension rather than only striking conventional armor. Against Teraka, concealment lets her deliver the full technique before his defense magic activates, severing a sixth-class dragon’s neck in one stroke. (Chapters 119, 243)

The art demands sustained training because space cutting depends on the whole movement rather than a spoken activation. Spiera prescribes two hundred years at four hours per day to a qualified spear user who already has another advanced technique; even with accelerated time she initially expects decades.
