Ifrit

Ifrit is one of the nine Great Fire Essences, responsible for domination and guarding the fire spirits. After Contegonom's stolen half passes into Randalph Brigsiel, Ifrit tries to reclaim it by trapping Randalph in a false dream world. Defeat forces him into an unprecedented contract, where the Heart of the Hell Monarch recombines and imprisons his power. His latest state is a three-year sleep entered to strengthen his flames while Randalph continues using the resulting Power of Domination. (Chapters 165–171)

Biography

Defeat, contract, and dormancy

Ifrit confronts Randalph because half of his power, stolen by Contegonom twenty thousand years earlier, has transferred into the demon. He enlarges himself inside Image Implementation and threatens possession, but Randalph recognizes the dream, exposes the false scale, and overwhelms its regeneration. Facing destruction before meeting the ninth fire derived from him, Ifrit accepts a contract that automatically ends if Randalph harms the fire spirits. He moves into Randalph's heart because he cannot return normally to the Spirit World, only for the Hell Monarch's heart to combine his halves and shackle him. Garrash accepts the contract as grounds for friendship with the fire spirits; soon afterward Ifrit enters consciousness for three years to strengthen his flames, while Randalph describes having devoured his magic and gained his skill. (Chapters 165–171)

Appearance and personality

Ifrit's ordinary manifested form is a two-legged, humanlike dragon made or surrounded by flame. Inside his dream he enlarges himself into a huge giant to appear transcendent, but Mind's Eye exposes that presentation as manipulation rather than his true strength. He is proud, threatening, deceptive under pressure, and deeply concerned with surviving long enough to see the ninth fire he calls his son. Once force defeats his bluffs, he negotiates a condition protecting the fire spirits. (Chapter 165)

Abilities and powers

Great Fire Essence

Ifrit is a guardian fire with high statistics and Epic Power of Fire. He is one of nine Great Fire Essences, but is incomplete when introduced because Contegonom stole half of his ability to dominate. His flame envelops Randalph warmly during the contract rather than burning him. The cited chapters do not separately define Power of Fire's offensive range, heat, cost, or cooldown, and Ifrit's later dormancy prevents a direct full-power demonstration. (Chapter 165)

Image Implementation

Image Implementation is an Epic skill that creates a white dream world in which Ifrit can alter his apparent size and pressure, restore damage, and attempt to intimidate or possess an intruder. Its images lose authority once the target recognizes the deception, and a transcendent attacker can inflict damage faster than the dream restores Ifrit's body. Randalph's Mind's Eye also reveals the statistics concealed by the bluff. (Chapter 165)

Power of Domination

After the contract recombines Ifrit inside the Heart of the Hell Monarch, his domination settles in Randalph as an Ex Epic passive skill. It can dominate a critically injured target; success depends on the user's magic power against the target's intelligence, after which the victim gradually loses ego and obeys. It also invalidates territory declarations. These are the mechanics of the transferred skill, not proof that dormant Ifrit independently commands targets from inside the heart. (Chapters 165–166 and 171)

Contract and containment

The contract is unprecedented for a Great Fire Essence and includes an automatic termination condition if Randalph harms fire spirits, though Randalph reserves self-defense. Ifrit must reside in the contractor's body because normal return is unavailable. The Hell Monarch's heart forcibly combines and shackles him, while Lightning God lets Randalph sense unusual movement; consequently, the relationship is both a mutual contract and containment whose risks make Randalph unwilling to release him casually. (Chapters 165–168)
