Edward Windsor — Dungeon Hunter

Edward Windsor is an Awakened swordsman whom Randalph rescues as a child because he remembers Edward as one of the future Ten Heroes. Edward grows into the king selected by the girin, humanity's strongest Awakened, and Yoo Eun-hye's steadfast partner in protecting Korea and exploring the transformed dungeons.

Biography

The child in the ruins

Ten-year-old Edward is trapped beneath ruins during a monster attack, unable to reach the younger brother he had helped raise. Randalph recognizes the name from the failed future, where Edward became the Duke Slayer, and refuses to waste that potential. The rescue does not erase Edward's grief, but it gives him a path forward: he enters the emerging Awakened struggle carrying both unusual talent and a caretaker's instinct formed long before he could fight. (Chapters 61–63)

Before the disaster, Edward had already taken responsibility for Rooney while their parents were occupied, so his first instinct in danger is to ask whether his brother survived rather than celebrate his own rescue. Rooney's death leaves him without the family role that had organized his life. Accepting Randalph's protection and later training therefore becomes both a means of survival and a way to redirect the duty Edward can no longer fulfill at home. (Chapters 61–63)

Training beside the Lightning Queen

Edward joins the circle around Yoo Eun-hye and the Devil Hunters, fighting with a longsword and repeatedly placing himself where he can cover others. He is gravely wounded during dungeon destruction but survives, and later training more than doubles his statistics and gives him higher-grade skills. His growth is not only numerical: after disappearing into extraordinary training with Yoo Eun-hye, he returns more mentally mature and becomes one of the two people whose presence can stabilize Heaven's Will. His partnership with Yoo Eun-hye turns that growth into disciplined frontline work. Edward follows her into the accelerated training space, emerges able to move and strike beyond his former limits, and still treats guarding her as more important than displaying his strength. The same protective habit shapes his guild role: when the pair return, their presence restores confidence to allies who had struggled to replace them during their absence. King of the Awakened

The girin names Edward among the human candidates for kingship. Yoo Eun-hye believes his potential exceeds her own and prepares him to take command if she falls, although Edward's youth and inexperience initially make leadership harder than combat. The advanced training room and subsequent wars turn that potential into authority. Once selected as king, his titles and buffs strengthen both his personal power and Korea's defenses, while Yoo Eun-hye handles much of the practical administration that his age still makes difficult. (Chapters 189–226 and 232)

Edward does not accept Yoo Eun-hye's succession plan passively. When he realizes that she is preparing to leave him behind, he draws his greatsword and tries to stop a decision he reads as self-sacrifice, exposing the tension between his growing public authority and his personal loyalty. Even after the girin confirms him as king, his effectiveness depends on this partnership: Edward supplies overwhelming combat power while Yoo Eun-hye supplies experience, judgment, and administration. Dungeon hunter after the war

Three years after Death Bringer's defeat, Edward remains beside Yoo Eun-hye as Heaven's Will explores the enlarged Korean dungeon. He protects her back, argues against reckless advances, and still becomes exasperated by her willingness to take risks connected to Randalph. Their guild distributes treasure to people in need and contributes recovered cores to new energy technology, making Edward's kingship part of reconstruction rather than a ceremonial victory. (Chapter 242)

The postwar expedition shows that kingship has not removed Edward from practical dungeon work. He fights on the fifty-fourth floor with the same team-centered habits he learned as a child and trainee, watching Yoo Eun-hye's flank while healers support the advance; the expedition has not yet finished conquering the dungeon. His objections to her risk-taking are familiar rather than insubordinate: their disagreement is the working rhythm of two partners whose shared responsibility now extends from one raid party to Korea's recovery. Appearance and personality

Edward is ten years old when first found and later grows into a young swordsman; the corpus emphasizes his maturation more than fixed physical traits. His defining characteristic is protectiveness. As a child he cares for Rooney without resentment, and as an adult he repeatedly guards Yoo Eun-hye, even drawing his greatsword against her plans when he believes she intends to sacrifice herself. He can be emotional and inexperienced, but he is not irrational: responsibility gradually catches up with his extraordinary combat growth. (Chapters 61–63, 178–180, 209, and 222–223)

Abilities and powers

Edward is a fast-growing Awakened swordsman whose later kingship adds system titles and group benefits. The corpus establishes high physical statistics, rapid movement, and the ability to decapitate creatures cleanly with a longsword or greatsword. Advanced training accelerates that growth beyond his failed-timeline rate, but demon dukes and divine-scale beings still remain outside what he can defeat unaided. No Pain and frontline sword skills

Edward possesses No Pain when Randalph finds him at ten years old. It prevents him from feeling the agony of his crushed lower body, but it does not prevent injury, blood loss, incapacitation, or death; he is later pierced through the chest and survives only because allies can treat him. A later status display still lists No Pain and adds Sprint, Melee, and Weapon Destruction, together with the Warrior Pushed to a Corner and Weapon Destroyer titles. The display establishes their names and attribute bonuses but does not explain Weapon Destruction's activation, valid targets, range, or cost, so those mechanics remain unknown. Breaker and accelerated growth

By the end of his first advanced-training period, Edward's uniqueness says that the cursed sword Breaker has chosen him. The Magic Sword Breaker effect adds six strength, while his attributes have more than doubled and his higher-grade movement and melee skills support rapid, decisive sword attacks. The corpus does not show how he acquired Breaker, what its curse does, or whether every later longsword and greatsword reference denotes that same weapon. His later growth is demonstrated through speed, clean kills, and his ability to protect a forward team rather than through a newer status window. (Chapters 148–151, 178–180, and 205–223)

Kingship and group benefits

The girin's selection makes Edward king and grants titles and buffs that help turn him into humanity's strongest Awakened. Those benefits support Korea's unusual safety and dungeon-clearing capacity, yet authority does not supply experience automatically. Yoo Eun-hye continues to manage practical affairs and prepare Edward for command, while his strongest demonstrated role remains the frontline protector who can keep a team alive under pressure. Yoo Eun-hye: His beloved “Noona,” closest partner, practical co-leader, and the person he most consistently protects from enemies and her own recklessness.
Randalph Brigsiel: Edward's childhood rescuer and an unsettling benefactor who deliberately brings his exceptional talent to maturity.

Magic Sword Breaker: The cursed sword that has chosen Edward by Chapter 148 and supplies a six-point strength effect. Its acquisition, curse, and later physical condition are not explained, and it has no page in the scoped item manifest.
