Zhu Chenhuan

Zhu Chenhuan is the four-hundred-year-old ancestor of the Zhu Clan, a former prominent general, and the senior negotiator who commits his clan to Su Chen’s broodmother project. His caution, political network, and personal strength help turn a contested discovery into a human infiltration of Sky Country and later into military pressure intended to rescue Zhu Xianyao.

Biography

Bargaining for the broodmother alliance

Zhu Chenhuan first meets Su Chen after the Rong Clan’s fall, when neither man can exploit the captured broodmother without the other. Zhu wants compensation for a discovery made under the Zhu Clan’s territorial control and presses for a large share of the future floating fort; Su Chen controls the broodmother but needs Stargold, Harpy captives, reliable planners, and expertise capable of improving his disguise. Their argument becomes heated enough to threaten cooperation, yet Zhu is also testing whether Su Chen has the nerve and planning ability to honor a long-term alliance. Once satisfied, he accepts a thirty-percent share and treats the younger man less like a petitioner than a formidable future relative. He then contributes the clan’s information network, purchases prisoners, brings in his old friend Feng Anya, and repeatedly argues for the safest infiltration plan. Although Su Chen continues taking greater risks than Zhu prefers, the collaboration changes Zhu’s view of him from a former enemy of bloodline nobility into a pioneer whose success the Zhu Clan should help shape rather than resist. Reinforcement in Jade Clearmist’s palace

Zhu’s support extends beyond planning when Su Chen enters Jade Clearmist’s secret realm. Forewarned through Su Chen’s preparations, Zhu crosses into Sky Country with the Boundless Sect’s reinforcements and remains hidden until the rival factions have exhausted one another. He opens the intervention by ambushing the Ninth-Ring Arcana Master Inigo, wounding him despite the Harpy’s last-moment teleportation, and then joins the larger fight that allows Su Chen to seize the Wind and Thunder Spirit Totems. When the enemy coalition tries to interfere again, Zhu responds with Heavenly Fox Finger and helps eliminate the remaining opponents on Su Chen’s command. The operation demonstrates that his alliance is no longer only a negotiated investment: he personally risks conflict in Harpy territory to preserve the project and his family’s connection to Su Chen. Afterward, he withdraws rather than compromising the continuing infiltration and warns Su Chen not to trust Inigo merely because the defeated scholar bargains for his life. (Chapters 825, 855–860)

Mobilizing Liaoye and accepting a costly settlement

When Zhu Xianyao becomes leverage in Eternal Night’s hands, Zhu Chenhuan turns from covert support to political mobilization. He uses the genuine damage inflicted on Sky City and his granddaughter’s confinement to press Liaoye toward war, activates connections in the capital, and bribes the influential Wang Rang so that private rescue interests align with strategic human ambitions. His network cannot order a continental campaign by itself, but it makes the threat credible enough to pressure the Harpies. The strategy becomes bitter when Eternal Night’s countermeasures force Su Chen to abandon immediate war and negotiate for Zhu Xianyao’s life. Zhu personally meets Su Chen in Liaoye, acknowledges that affection alone will not persuade the human rulers, and escorts him through the negotiations. He dislikes extinguishing the military opportunity he helped create, yet accepts the settlement because preserving his granddaughter takes priority. Their final conversation leaves him aware that Su Chen regards the agreement as a pause rather than an end to the human–Harpy contest. (Chapters 884–914)

Appearance and personality

Zhu Chenhuan is approximately four hundred years old but retains the handsome face, vigor, and vitality of a young man. In battle his hair is described as completely white, producing an appearance that combines unmistakable age with youthful features. The corpus does not state his height, build, eye color, or usual clothing. (Chapters 785 and 855)

He is proud, shrewd, cautious, politically connected, and capable of both anger and rapid compromise. He enjoys testing character through bargaining and chess, worries that new power will tempt Su Chen into needless risks, and prefers plans that distribute danger across dependable institutions. His affection for Zhu Xianyao coexists with ruthless pragmatism: he will use her confinement as a public justification for war, but ultimately sacrifices that campaign when her survival genuinely requires it. Abilities and cultivation

Zhu Chenhuan is a Thought Manifestation Realm cultivator and experienced former general. The corpus does not name his cultivation method, Lotus Platform history beyond two failed attempts at reaching Light Shaking, or the origin and full mechanics of his personal techniques.

Thought Manifestation cultivation and combat

Thought Manifestation places Zhu among the strongest human cultivators active during the Harpy campaign. He can conceal himself closely enough to launch a surprise attack on Inigo, project a powerful hand through the Arcana Master’s barrier, and wound him even though Inigo teleports away before the full strike lands. Zhu says that he used seventy percent of his strength, but the statement comes immediately after an ambush and may also reflect his ironic manner; it should not be treated as a precise measurement of his maximum output. His only named personal attack is Heavenly Fox Finger, a vicious finger strike used to renew pressure on enemies trying to prevent Su Chen from claiming the Wind Spirit Totem. The text does not explain its energy source, range, activation, cost, or formal connection to a named Zhu Clan bloodline, so those mechanics remain unknown. Strategy, command, and political networks

Zhu’s principal noncombat strength is strategic coordination. He anticipates that the Harpies’ peace delegation is also searching for the broodmother, converts their prisoner purchases into an information channel, draws on clan advisors without exposing the secret, and recruits a Thought Manifestation friend whose bloodline can make Su Chen’s Harpy disguise physically credible. His planning consistently emphasizes failure modes, identity screening, and the difference between acquiring a disguise and behaving convincingly inside it. (Chapters 785–805 and 825–828)

As a former leading general of Liaoye, he also understands military incentives and possesses long-standing influence among nobles and officials. He cannot compel Liaoye, Empty Mountain, and Water Sheen to fight, so he combines a real strategic opening with bribery, personal advocacy, and Zhu Xianyao’s captivity to make mobilization attractive to others. The method succeeds in creating pressure but remains dependent on the rulers’ calculations, and Eternal Night can counter it by making the hostage’s survival incompatible with immediate attack.
