Serene Dream Lotus Crown
Serene Dream Lotus Crown is the religious leader of Sky Country and one of its two principal authorities alongside Eternal Night. A legendary Arcana Master with large-area suppression, consciousness, and divine techniques, she places the survival and faith of the Harpies above both personal grievance and political pride. She dies after invoking the Mother Goddess's power to save Sky City from a Beast assault.
Biography
Governing the Mother Goddess Sect
Serene Dream Lotus Crown leads the Mother Goddess Sect from its temple atop Vast Cloud Peak. The sect unifies Harpy society through common worship, while Serene Dream and Eternal Night jointly govern Sky City through religious and imperial authority. Her audience with the disguised Su Chen shows both sides of that office: the aura around her induces reverence, yet she questions his request for a baptism rather than granting it on sentiment alone. Once his intelligence about a Desolate Beast and Kelesda proves valuable, she assigns a measured reward and personally mobilizes the Head Bishops. (Chapters 874–876)
Su Chen has deliberately drawn Kelesda to the temple so that he can rob the sect while its experts are absent. Serene Dream initially refuses Kelesda's proposed alliance on the principle that the Harpies should not cooperate with an enemy, but changes course when his antidote becomes essential against the Thousand Poisons Toad. Even after learning that the raid has killed bishops and guards, stolen the Divine Feather, and destroyed the Mother Goddess's statue, she postpones vengeance to address the greater threat. Her restraint breaks only at the destruction of the sacred statue, when she kills the disciple reporting the news and suffers an Origin Energy rebound from her own rage. (Chapters 875–880)
Defending Sky City from the Thousand Poisons Toad
During the Harpies' battle with the Thousand Poisons Toad, Serene Dream arrives in a flying carriage with dozens of Head Bishops standing on engraved tablets. Together they sustain Withering Flesh, a forbidden technique built to affect even Desolate Beasts. The technique reduces the toad's physical strength by thirty percent, enabling Sky City's other formations and weapons to fight it more effectively, but its maintenance heavily drains both Serene Dream and the bishops supporting her. The Harpies ultimately kill the toad, though the campaign inflicts enormous military and civilian losses. (Chapters 888–898)
The victory does not settle her dispute with Su Chen. She confronts Eternal Night for failing to recover the sect's Divine Tool, then reluctantly agrees to open the sect's ancient library because the Harpies need Su Chen to pursue the Immortal's Soul and Neptune's Eye. Eternal Night has concealed that weakening the sect and letting Su Chen retain its treasures serve his own plans. When Serene Dream later discovers that bargain, her relationship with him deteriorates, and he consequently fails to summon her when Su Chen returns for Zhu Xianyao. She arrives too late; the narrative states that her presence would have prevented Su Chen's easy escape. (Chapters 911, 995–997)
Divine sacrifice for the Harpies
Serene Dream returns to battle when Demonic Beasts enter a temporarily defenseless Sky City. She deploys the elite Mother Goddess Sect Guards, slows nearby attackers with Dreamlike Light, and blocks a Beast Sovereign's charge with a red-lotus defense. The defense fails against the Sovereign's sharpened horn, leaving her badly wounded before Eternal Night intervenes. Despite the injury and the overwhelming number of attackers, she continues fighting while the city's weapons and barrier lose power. (Chapter 1076)
After the Mother of All Bugs detonates and the battle worsens, Serene Dream returns to the repaired statue of the Mother Goddess and invokes the Universal Light Divine Art. Its radiance heals Harpies, restores their Origin Energy, and burns the attacking Beasts. Empowered by the same divine source, she grievously wounds the Void Seahorse with one finger and directs the Harpy's Star into the enemy host before it explodes. The borrowed power exacts her life immediately after the attack. Her disciple Red Dew Flower succeeds her, while Eternal Night acknowledges that Serene Dream had shielded him from the sect's criticism and sacrificed herself for the Harpies' future. (Chapters 1077–1079)
Appearance and personality
Serene Dream has a cool, elegant, exceptionally beautiful face whose expression makes her seem unapproachable. Her gaze produces a physical sensation of cold in Su Chen, while her mere presence feels like a mountain towering over him. The corpus does not state her age, height, hair color, ordinary clothing, or other lasting physical details. During her final divine technique, she appears as an imposing figure above Sky City beneath the Mother Goddess's statue. (Chapters 875 and 1077)
She is proud, devout, and quick-tempered where the sect's sacred authority is concerned. Her fury at the temple's desecration can overcome her judgment, and she initially treats compromise with Kelesda as a historical disgrace. She is nevertheless capable of rapidly subordinating hatred to the survival of her race: she accepts Kelesda's aid, delays pursuit of stolen treasures, opens secret records to Su Chen, and ultimately spends her own life to protect Sky City. (Chapters 880, 911, and 1077)
Her political instincts are less developed than Eternal Night's, and her trust in him lets him manipulate the sect's resources for imperial goals. That trust also rests on mutual affection. She softens when he touches her hand, supports his larger undertaking despite misgivings, and smiles at him before her death; he later admits that he had long buried his feelings for her. Their partnership therefore combines sincere national purpose with an imbalance in political knowledge. (Chapters 911, 995, and 1077–1079)
Abilities and cultivation
Serene Dream is explicitly identified as a legendary Arcana Master. Her demonstrated repertoire combines conventional Arcana Techniques, sect-specific forbidden arts, consciousness effects, and divine power mediated through the Mother Goddess Sect.
Consciousness pressure and scrying
Those who approach Serene Dream experience an involuntary urge to worship her. Su Chen identifies the effect as a consciousness technique and uses Heart Walls to remove it without exposing his own strength. Her direct gaze also produces an intense cold sensation and her released aura bears down like a mountain, but the corpus does not name these effects, specify their range, or establish whether they are deliberate attacks or protections associated with her office and temple. (Chapter 875)
Near Vast Cloud Peak, Serene Dream forms a light hologram in her hand and uses it to locate Kelesda at the mountain's base. The narration calls this her unique searching method and states that targets near the peak cannot evade her eye. Its demonstrated reach is therefore territorial rather than universal; no evidence shows that she can use it at arbitrary distances or through every form of concealment. (Chapter 875)
Withering Flesh
Withering Flesh manifests as a door of light whose vacuum-like force weakens a target's physical strength and physical attacks by thirty percent. Its important property is not lethality but applicability: unlike ordinary debuffs of comparable magnitude, it works on a Desolate Beast. The technique was developed specifically for such enemies and lets weaker attacks become more meaningful when combined with other defenses and curses. (Chapter 890)
The technique is extremely draining. Serene Dream performs it from a carriage while dozens of Head Bishops contribute through engraved tablets, explicitly sharing the burden of maintaining it. The corpus does not show her casting it alone, give a duration, or explain whether the thirty-percent reduction changes against smaller targets. Its only demonstrated use is the coordinated defense of Sky City. (Chapter 890)
Dreamlike Light and red-lotus defense
Dreamlike Light begins with a saintly halo thrown into the air. Holy light then covers a broad battlefield area, causing every affected opponent to feel as though they are dreaming and greatly slowing their movements. This makes it effective crowd control, but the light has a finite range; Beasts entering outside it continue to attack unhindered. The source does not state whether allies are automatically excluded, how long the slowing lasts, or what resources sustain the halo. (Chapter 1076)
When the Sovereign of Regret charges her, a red lotus appears over Serene Dream's chest and continuously sheds petals that stop the bull's horns. The defense can halt the initial force of a Sovereign, but Serene Dream turns pale under the strain and the technique shatters when the horn sharpens, allowing it to pierce her chest. Its name, origin, and relationship to her ordinary Arcana cultivation are not given. (Chapter 1076)
Universal Light Divine Art
Universal Light Divine Art is Serene Dream's final and strongest demonstrated technique. Standing beneath the repaired Mother Goddess statue, she channels divine power into holy light that rapidly heals Harpy wounds, restores their Origin Energy, and burns hostile Beasts. The glowing statue appears to power the effect, tying its use to the sect's worship and sacred infrastructure rather than to her personal Arcana reserves alone. (Chapter 1077)
While empowered, a single finger attack grievously wounds the Void Seahorse and forces the Sovereign to retreat through the void. She also gestures the Harpy's Star into the Beast army so that its self-destruction can clear the battlefield. The scale is immense, but the limit is absolute: borrowing divine power costs Serene Dream her life as soon as the radiance fades. No earlier use or safe lower-output version is shown, and her death leaves her legendary Arcana cultivation without any later progression. (Chapters 1077–1078)
Leadership and coordinated warfare
Serene Dream commands the Head Bishops, temple guards, and Mother Goddess Sect resources. Her most consequential techniques operate through those institutions: Withering Flesh distributes its burden among bishops, the temple supports her divine art, and the sect's guards provide close-quarters soldiers that ordinary Harpy formations lack. This command capacity amplifies her individual power, but it should not be confused with ownership of every sect weapon or technique. (Chapters 874–880, 890, and 1076–1077)
Her latest state is death after divine expenditure. The corpus records no resurrection, surviving spirit, or transfer of her personal abilities to Red Dew Flower. What survives is the office, library, temple infrastructure, and institutional knowledge of the Mother Goddess Sect. (Chapters 1077–1079)
Relationships
- Eternal Night: Serene Dream's political counterpart and concealed love. They govern Sky City through religious and imperial power, but he manipulates her trust to weaken the Mother Goddess Sect and advance the Immortal's Soul project. Their rift does not erase her loyalty to the Harpies, and her final smile draws an open declaration of the affection he had suppressed. (Chapters 874, 911, 995–997, and 1077–1079)
- Su Chen: Su Chen deceives Serene Dream while disguised, uses her response to Kelesda as cover to plunder the sect, and later retains its divine treasures through Eternal Night's bargain. She opposes these losses but still opens the ancient library for the Harpies' larger plan. His observation of her final technique gives him evidence about divine power and its cost. (Chapters 875–880, 911, and 1077–1078)
- Kelesda: Serene Dream initially regards Kelesda as an enemy and refuses alliance on principle. His antidote and the Thousand Poisons Toad force her to negotiate, demonstrating that she can place collective survival above hatred even while recognizing his manipulation. (Chapters 875–880)
- Mother Goddess: Serene Dream heads the religion devoted to the Mother Goddess and channels power through her repaired statue. That divine borrowing enables her final battlefield intervention but consumes her life. (Chapters 874–875 and 1077)
- Red Dew Flower: Serene Dream's personal disciple and one of the sect's highest-ranking bishops. Red Dew presides at her funeral, challenges Eternal Night over the policies that weakened the sect, and succeeds her as its leader. No manifest-approved article link is available for Red Dew Flower. (Chapter 1079)
Items
The finalized item inventory for Serene Dream Lotus Crown contains no entries. She uses institutional objects and infrastructure—including an engraved-tablet formation, a saintly halo, the Mother Goddess statue, and the Harpy's Star—but the corpus does not establish any of them as her persistent personal possession.
