Qi Shenyuan

Qi Shenyuan is a Light Shaking Realm cultivator whose sole assignment during the Island Abyss expedition is to protect Kong Cheng. Though privately aware of Kong's incompetence, he obeys increasingly reckless orders until the pair leave the main expedition and fall into a second ambush.

Biography

Protecting Kong Cheng

Qi Shenyuan accompanied Kong Cheng as the second Light Shaking Realm expert in Shi Mingfeng's expedition. He rarely participated in planning and intervened only when Kong was threatened. He declined to attack Su Chen because the Immortal Temple would punish him, but he still relayed Kong's order for Feng Xihuo to begin the assassination. (Chapters 508, 511, 527, and 529)

After Shi Mingfeng expelled Kong from the operation, Qi advised against resisting and escorted him away. He protected Kong through an attack by Zhu Xianyao's group, enabling both of them to escape despite being heavily outnumbered. Yue Longsha's force was waiting beyond that battle, however, and the narrative says it took care of both men while reclaiming the Immortal Temple's roster, strongly implying that Qi died there. (Chapters 533–536)

Appearance and personality

The corpus gives no stable description of Qi Shenyuan's face, clothing, age, height, or build. His bloodline is described only as mixed rather than pure, without a corresponding visible trait. (Chapters 508–536)

Qi is quiet, pragmatic, and dutiful despite his low opinion of Kong Cheng. He understands when Shi Mingfeng is issuing a warning rather than attempting murder, recognizes when continued resistance is pointless, and prioritizes extraction over victory. At the same time, his assignment overrides his better judgment, leading him to enable Kong's assassination scheme and remain with him after the expedition fractures. (Chapters 511, 527, 529, and 533)

Abilities and cultivation

Qi Shenyuan is a Light Shaking Realm cultivator with a mixed bloodline. His exact bloodline, Lotus Platform count, and named Origin Skills are not stated. His rank makes killing anyone under his protection difficult, and he is powerful enough to escape a much larger force after prolonged fighting. (Chapters 508, 535–536)

His strongest recorded accomplishment is defensive: while fighting Zhu Xianyao, Zhao Jingwen, Ba Lieyuan, Culler, and numerous guards, he creates an opening for Kong Cheng to flee and then withdraws himself. The corpus does not narrate his later fight with Yue Longsha's ambush, so no specific technique or final blow can be assigned to him. (Chapters 535–536)

Relationships

  • Kong Cheng: Protecting Kong is Qi's sole mission. He disapproves of Kong's conduct but continues to guard him, carry his orders, and shield his escape. (Chapters 508–536)
  • Shi Mingfeng: Qi respects Shi's strength and warnings but rejects his authority over matters unrelated to Kong's safety. He ultimately accepts expulsion rather than force a lethal clash. (Chapters 511, 527, and 533)
  • Su Chen: Qi threatens Su after Kong is injured but admits that he cannot kill him without facing the Immortal Temple's punishment. (Chapter 511)

Items

The finalized item inventory contains no entries for Qi Shenyuan. He is not shown wielding a named weapon, armor, or personal Origin Tool. Kong Cheng's communications roster is central to the events but belongs to Kong, not to Qi. (Chapters 511–536)
