Blood Ancestor

Blood Ancestor, the Plundering Bloodbat, is an ancient Origin Beast able to communicate while its main body hibernates. It first regulates the Beasts' response to human expansion, then becomes Su Chen's principal Origin Beast ally against the returning gods and helps establish a postwar division between humanity and the Beasts. (Chapters 1086–1154)

Biography

From hibernating arbiter to ally

While slumbering beneath Redstone Basin, the Blood Ancestor keeps a fragment of consciousness awake to handle emergencies and preserve knowledge of other Ancestors' resting places. Kucha asks it to stop the human advance; reluctant to awaken Origin Beasts before the gods' return, it first releases blood to rouse Desolate Beast Elders and marrow for an Ancestor only if necessary. Su Chen later approaches with sacrificial Blood Turtles and awakens the fragment for a conversation. The Blood Ancestor explains the forgotten war with the gods, the prisons and Barrier separating Kun's territory from the Origin Realm, and the gods' capacity to recover through divine power. Though contemptuous of human chances, it promises command of the Origin Beasts if Su Chen can produce a credible victory plan. (Chapters 1086 and 1094–1099)

Su Chen's plan converts that wager into an alliance. The Blood Ancestor contributes autonomous clones and a living soul fragment across the Barrier, advises the deception used against the gods, and leads the Origin Beasts through the Realm-Breaking Bridge after allowing the others to cross first. In Kun's territory it confronts Augusta, its former master, and fights the weakened God of War with corrosive blood and power-eroding ripples. It later supports Su Chen's judgment during the final battles and recognizes humanity's restored immortal potential. When the remaining gods escape, the Ancestor can no longer return to the Origin Realm, but it agrees that Kun's territory will belong to the Beasts, promises to restrain Demonic Beasts on the human side, and offers assistance under the new compact. (Chapters 1124–1154)

Appearance and personality

The Blood Ancestor can appear as a tiny Bloodbat, a speaking face or soul fragment, a colony of small bats, or a gigantic merged Bloodbat. Its full body is the smallest among the Origin Beasts, yet contains so much energy that an ordinary inter-realm bridge cannot bear it. It is proud, impatient with ignorance, and initially fatalistic about the gods, but it is also strategically patient: it limits awakenings, lets other Beasts cross first, honors its promise to Su Chen, and accepts that the world has changed. (Chapters 1086–1099, 1140, and 1142–1148)

Abilities and cultivation

As the Plundering Bloodbat, the Blood Ancestor can split into tens of thousands of clones, change shape, and divide its consciousness. A small soul fragment can remain active while the main body sleeps, but prolonged activity risks fully awakening and shortening its remaining hibernation. Proximity to the main body grants a small Bloodbat Aspect greater autonomy, though it still wields only a fraction of the whole's power. The same multiplication lets the full body distribute itself into a crimson tide to reduce the load on the Realm-Breaking Bridge. (Chapters 1094, 1140, 1142, and 1143)

Its blood creates Blood Turtle guards that reach Demonic King strength near it, supplies blood and marrow capable of awakening or extending the life of other Beasts, and becomes a corrosive weapon. One clone phases through Method Power, shatters on a god, and coats the target in blood that divine power cannot stop from dissolving flesh. Against Augusta, the Ancestor becomes a bat colony and produces black ripples that erode divine power; this works against the god's greatly regressed state, while the text explicitly says the Ancestor could not have beaten Augusta at their respective peaks. Its enormous energy reserves and leadership rank are clear, but the corpus gives it no human-style cultivation realm. (Chapters 1086, 1096, 1136, and 1144)

Relationships

  • Su Chen: Their relationship begins as a dangerous negotiation and becomes a military alliance. The Blood Ancestor supplies history, forces, clones, and counsel; Su Chen creates the route into Kun's territory and later negotiates coexistence. (Chapters 1096–1154)
  • Kucha: Kucha petitions the Ancestor for help and receives blood and marrow to awaken stronger Beasts. His disclosures later lead Su Chen to Redstone Basin. (Chapters 1086 and 1094–1096)
  • Augusta: The God of War was once the Blood Ancestor's master. In the final campaign the Ancestor confronts him as an enemy and declares its intent to bleed him dry. (Chapter 1144)
  • Tree Ancestor: The Blood Ancestor treats the Tree Ancestor as a fellow ancient Beast, but counsels it to accept humanity's changing potential rather than merely resent it. (Chapter 1146)

Items

The finalized notable-item inventory for the Blood Ancestor contains no entries. Its blood, marrow, clones, and created guards are manifestations of its body and abilities rather than separate possessions. (Chapters 1086–1148)
