Milan

Milan Inga is Leonel Morales's former Three-Star center, a defensive Ability Index user, and one of the friends Leonel recognizes as brothers. His role remains true to the “Head Guard” of an offense: from improvised barricades during Earth's Metamorphosis to world-spanning battles, Milan places himself between danger and his team and develops Energy Shield from a modest barrier into a defensive domain that can also dismantle enemy formations.

Biography

Earth's descent and the first Zones

Milan first appears after Royal Blue's championship game, cheerfully ignoring Leonel's injured ribs as he insists that his captain attend the team's party. When the Metamorphosis begins, that uncomplicated friendship becomes immediate action: Milan carries the incapacitated James Bennett, reads Leonel's eye signal without explanation, and kicks over a couch to slow the pursuing crowd. (Chapters 4 and 6–7)

In the early survival fighting, he uses a tower shield while Joel attacks over his shoulder. Their coordination allows low-grade equipment to bring down a stronger Invalid and establishes the guard-and-striker pattern that their later formations retain at far greater scale. Milan is already choosing the team's survival over any attempt to fight as an isolated powerhouse. (Chapter 18)

Camelot, Terrain, and Earth's unification

Nearly a year later, Milan has exchanged his usual smile for the focus of a vanguard commander. He leads the charge protecting Earth's engineers and projects an energy shield over the formation, but his then B-grade ability cannot withstand the SSS-grade ice guards; he continues the defense despite knowing the gap. The failure becomes an early measure of both his courage and the defensive growth he still needs. (Chapters 401 and 404)

Because Milan, Raj, and Joel led from the front while established generals hid inside the dome, Maia replaces those officers with the three young soldiers. The promotion turns Milan's instinct to guard teammates into formal responsibility for others' lives, making his shield the foundation of a command role rather than only a personal talent. (Chapter 465)

Valiant Heart and the Four Great Families

Milan becomes one of Royal Blue Fort's most effective generals by asking what Leonel would do when command decisions are unclear. Their later reunion begins with a crushing bear hug, yet Milan notices almost immediately that Leonel is troubled and apologizes for a mistake before Leonel explains it. His instinct is still to intervene when Leonel is hurt, but Joel's restraint and the group's later confrontation with their neglect teach both sides that protection must include trusting Leonel's choices rather than merely charging on his behalf. Leonel examines Milan's Energy Shield and finds it close to the Reflection Stage, though Milan doubts it would remain above Nullification in a higher Dimension and has never considered integrating Universal Cycles with it. Dream Path guidance gives him a possible route without handing him comprehension outright. At sea he demonstrates more flexible control by using shields offensively to rip fish from the water for Drake, turning a defensive surface into a tool for displacement and team attacks. Void Palace and the Rapax conflict

The ocean campaign proves both Milan's scale and his costs. Already exhausted, he drags up his last Force and expands a two-meter shield across hundreds of meters to stop water droplets that are killing soldiers. Enlargement thins the barrier until sections shatter, while the strain raises veins across his forehead and sends blood from his mouth; he compensates by merging his shield with compatible defensive formations. Joel then changes tactics because passively relying on Milan would drain what little stamina remains. (Chapters 1003–1004)

Milan continues to define his place by absorbing attacks meant for Leonel. On a barren higher-Dimensional world he is forced back bleeding after attempting to protect him, and the injury helps trigger Leonel's retaliation. Away from battle, his loud jokes and participation in the brothers' teasing preserve the ordinary locker-room bond Leonel repeatedly risks losing as his responsibilities expand. Heir Wars and the wider Dimensional Verse

Milan is killed with Raj, Drake, Gil, and Franco during the Four Great Families' attack on Earth's territory. Simeon's preservation of their bodies leaves soul fragments that Leonel can rebuild; Leonel feeds the restored Seventh-Dimensional souls into the Silver Tablet and Anastasia supplies Pure Neutral Qi, recreating their bodies. Milan awakens arguing with Raj and immediately traps him in a shaking Force bubble, proof that the recognizable person and his Ability Index have returned. The resurrection clears cultivation bottlenecks but would not, at the time, have worked beyond the Tablet's Seventh-Dimensional limit. (Chapters 1754–1755 and 1764–1766)

Rather than withdraw after death, Milan returns to the brothers' campaigns and trusts Leonel's concealed plan during the Heir War. That calm is significant because the group normally expresses confidence through noise: when outsiders expect panic, Milan and the others' composure signals their faith that Leonel has prepared an answer. God Realm and Dream Pavilion struggles

After Velasco dies, Milan worries over Leonel with the other brothers but channels the concern into familiar football insults with James, respecting the distance Leonel is imposing. When conflict erupts in Slayer Legion territory, Milan appears beside Leonel asking only what they are doing and then takes the vanguard with James, their paired shields giving Leonel the protected field he needs to fire. The scenes preserve Milan's oldest function while showing that he now coordinates with another Energy Shield specialist at the scale of God Realm conflicts. (Chapters 2212, 2480, and 2482)

Milan also helps restore the group's human life inside the Segmented Cube. He wrestles Arnold, trades insults with Raj, celebrates Raj and Yuri's reconciliation, and joins the friends who learn that separated partners have been rescued. These interludes matter to his arc because his guardianship is not abstract service to an empire: it protects the same unruly community that existed before the world changed. The final war and a transformed Existence

After training and exploring other worlds, Milan reunites with Leonel in the group's customary barrage of insults. Against Flaura, he and James overlap Energy Shields so their strength multiplies and suppresses her Whip Force while Raj pins her feet. Later developments mutate their Ability Index beyond defense: back-to-back, they create a domain enemies cannot approach, identify weaknesses in opposing formations, and shut those formations down. Milan can even coat a rain of bullets in shielding energy so it tears through otherwise unbreakable defenses. (Chapters 2930–2932 and 2954–2993)

Milan then joins Leonel's twelve-person stand beside Aina Morales against a tide of Gods and continues refining combination barriers. Alongside James and Little Nana, he forms a reflective golden dome that rebounds a powerful arrow with scarcely a mark and grows stronger as Little Nana gains insight. He later appears on the Palm monument of the Idol Battlefield and, in his final named scene, answers Leonel's distant call with a pillar-like flare of aura. Leonel explicitly leaves Milan and the others responsible for preserving their own lives and forces, marking him as an autonomous final-war commander rather than merely a guard at Leonel's shoulder. Appearance and personality

Milan is a massive man with sharp features, a large belly, and a body that appears both fat-covered and powerfully muscular. His size made him Royal Blue's center and remains integral to his imposing, tank-like presence. He is usually loud enough that even an even cadence sounds booming, and he moves easily between a jovial grin and the cold gaze he once reserved for the defensive line. (Chapters 4, 401, and 810)

He is boisterous, affectionate, and competitive. Milan drinks, hugs, heckles, and treats nearly every reunion as a chance to embarrass a friend, especially Raj, James, or Arnold. The humor does not make him careless: he reads Leonel's silent signals, recognizes emotional trouble quickly, follows Joel's commands, and answers a defensive emergency before instructions are complete. Pain and exhaustion bring out stubborn concentration rather than complaint, though his determination to hold a shield can require a commander to stop him from spending all his Force. Abilities and cultivation

Energy Shield Ability Index

Milan creates solid barriers of Force whose size, position, density, and motion he can control. His Index begins at C-grade, reaches B-grade during the first year after the Metamorphosis, and approaches the Reflection Stage by Leonel's later assessment. These labels describe Ability Index development rather than a dated cultivation-realm progression. Early barriers protect a formation or surround a person; Milan can also move them to shove, lift targets from water, or shake a trapped opponent. (Chapters 401, 404, 841, 985, and 1766)

Scale trades directly against durability and stamina. Expanding a shield from two meters to hundreds makes it thin enough for lethal water to punch holes through, and sustaining it on depleted reserves causes bleeding and visible physical strain. Milan can fuse his barrier with other shields to cover gaps and multiply strength, making compatible partners central to his best defense. His paired work with James progresses from overlapping shields to a broad domain and, with Little Nana, a reflective golden dome that continues strengthening and rebounds powerful ranged attacks. Reflection, suppression, and offensive shielding

Milan's mature barriers no longer only stop force. Shielding energy coats bullets and lets them penetrate formations, while his domain with James identifies weak points and suppresses or dismantles defensive arrays. Their overlap can also suppress an opponent's Force, as when Flaura struggles to raise her Whip Force. The narrative says the Ability Index has mutated and can eventually be perfected with knowledge Leonel gains from Invalids, but it does not name a final formal stage or establish that every planned improvement is completed. His latest techniques remain highly collaborative. James shares the same Ability Index at a different developmental history, Little Nana adds the Adurna shield's resonance, and Leonel positions the tanks where their protected space supports his ranged attacks. Milan is therefore strongest when his surface can join another defense or anchor a formation; isolation, exhaustion, extreme area, and attacks that exceed the barrier's present density remain demonstrated limits. Physical defense and equipment

Before his Ability Index can carry the full defensive load, Milan uses his lineman's body, a tall F-grade tower shield, and close formation work. He rams enemies backward so Joel can strike over his shoulder and physically creates barricades during the initial escape from the Metamorphosis. Even after his Force barriers improve, he continues to take the vanguard and to pair them with firearms or teammates' attacks. (Chapters 7, 18, 2482, and 2992)

His cultivation is explicitly Seventh Dimensional at resurrection and Tier 9 of that Dimension with the reforged squad. Leonel then raises every brother to the Ninth through an incomplete-world fusion before Dream Reverse rewinds Milan to the Third for a stronger rebuild. • Leonel Morales: As Leonel's center, Milan sees himself as the captain's Head Guard. He reads Leonel's signals, protects him before and after the Metamorphosis, models his generalship on Leonel's decisions, and remains one of the few friends willing to greet increasingly transcendent power with a bear hug or insult. • Raj: Raj is Milan's fellow lineman, co-general, shield-and-terrain partner, and favorite target for insults. Their first act after resurrection is an argument, yet Milan repeatedly protects Raj while Raj controls the field, making the comedy the surface of a dependable combat bond. • James Bennett: James shares Milan's Energy Shield Ability Index and becomes his principal late-war partner.
