Anastasia
Anastasia is the sentient World Spirit resident within the Segmented Cube. Although the Minerva fashioned her world and vessel to exploit a World Spirit's intelligence, she is a living companion rather than an object: over her years with Leonel, she develops from a law-bound, deliberately limited consciousness into an autonomous member of his family. (Chapters 2939, 3115–3120)
Biography
Void Palace and the Rapax conflict
Anastasia is first named while Velasco is treating an incapacitated Leonel Morales. At his direction, she siphons some of Velasco's strength and places a Level 2 barrier around Lab 1, turning Leonel's recovery chamber into a test he must overcome before resuming his ambitions. The exchange already shows both her integration with the Segmented Cube and Velasco's trust in her ability to regulate power inside it, though her visible childlike manifestation and history are not yet explained. (Chapter 1347)
Her choice in the scene is expressed through obedient restraint rather than an independent campaign: she applies precisely the barrier Velasco requests, preserves the recovering Leonel, and turns protection into a controlled challenge instead of simply releasing him. The consequence is the first clear sign that the Cube's apparent automation is mediated by a thinking resident whose judgment Velasco trusts; later revelations about her sacrifice for him and her artificial limits make this small intervention the opening of a much older guardian relationship. (Chapters 1347, 1632–1634, and 2176)
Heir Wars and the wider Dimensional Verse
When Leonel returns after the temporal dislocation surrounding the Zone, he finds the Segmented Cube transformed into a vast Phase Six world and meets Anastasia's small, cloud-legged manifestation directly. She recalls healing him after the Dimensional Cleanse trial and immediately warns that some knowledge could literally harm him. She also refuses to explain the event that separated the Cube from its vessel: despite her loyalty, she judges that Leonel's ability to infer dangerous truths makes disclosure itself unsafe. (Chapters 1632–1634)
During Leonel's absence, Anastasia preserves the Cube's residents, keeps Tolliver in suspended animation, helps train Candle and Vice, watches Little Blackstar mature, and saves the Wise Star Order by tethering his endangered soul to her world. That rescue gives her authority over an ancestor who had repeatedly tried to take Leonel's body. When Leonel returns, she monitors the exterior, checks his dangerous Innate Node fusion, scolds him once the danger passes, and gives him a conceptual account of Force that helps redirect his cultivation and research. (Chapters 1633–1645)
Her support soon expands from guardianship to the infrastructure behind Leonel's campaigns. She converts stored materials into Pure Neutral Qi for the Silver Tablet, enabling Leonel to restore his fallen brothers, and she handles research and processing that his military and Crafting projects cannot do alone. Leonel increasingly leaves complex Cataclysm Zone technology and World Spirit questions to her, treating her judgment as a standing part of his planning rather than a passive function of the Cube. (Chapters 1766, 1838–1840, and 2200)
Velasco's death reveals the cost behind her reduced state. Anastasia had once been near the Ninth Dimension, but fell to barely the Third and entered a deep sleep after protecting Velasco from the consequences of exceeding the world's restrictions; he had then spent years nursing her back. His final restoration necklace fulfills his promise to her. Leonel crushes it inside the Cube before she can object, releasing its stored power, but Anastasia ignores that recovery when she realizes Velasco is dead and pounds helplessly against his body in grief. (Chapter 2176)
God Realm and Dream Pavilion struggles
In the Complete Worlds, Anastasia becomes Leonel's home, sensor network, laboratory, and strategic shelter. She conceals the Cube, maps terrain, maintains communication across great distances within her world, purifies and grows ore deposits, and warns Leonel when his requests risk her or alert another world's Spirit. Their exchanges show a genuine partnership: he tells her not to hurt herself for a relatively unimportant mine, while she explains the ecological and spatial constraints his plans must respect. (Chapters 2399, 2456–2470, and 2503–2508)
Her power is immense but situational. Inside her world she is described as a deity, able to control its laws and residents, while outside she must accumulate surrounding Force before reaching top speed and cannot reliably hide broad scans from strong Ninth Dimensional or superior Dream Force experts. Leonel therefore alternates between exploiting her vigilance and restraining it; after killing a Dream Pavilion Head, for example, he refuses to let her blanket the world because the trace of her senses would betray him. (Chapters 2423, 2435, 2445, and 2806)
Anastasia also supplies knowledge Leonel lacks about Force, Creation states, World Spirits, and the history embedded in Complete Worlds. Her Time Force can look backward along a causal connection, and she can combine that reach with a Wise Tablet's restorative function, but the target's dimensional weight and her own limits matter: Aina's rise to the Seventh Dimension makes her connection to her mother too heavy for Anastasia to use alone. Later, Leonel plans to add Elorin's temporal ability so she and the Silver Tablet can attempt what neither could accomplish independently. (Chapters 2251–2256, 2463, 2795, and 3090–3091)
Her limitations become emotionally consequential when distant experts examine Leonel while he is incapacitated. Anastasia can obscure events directly tied to herself, but she senses only that something is wrong and lacks the flexible awareness to identify the threat before much of Leonel's history is exposed. Leonel does not blame her; he recognizes that the Minerva built enormous power into her while intentionally leaving her reasoning and personality constrained, and he begins shaping his Crafting around freeing her from that design. (Chapters 2939–2944 and 2963)
The final war and a transformed Existence
Leonel first practices World Spirit-based Crafting on Earth's Spirit so that he can repair Anastasia's inherited flaws. This method uses a Spirit as the world's consent and computational foundation, drawing renewable energy from the surroundings while leaving only a guiding burden on the Crafter. His success confirms that Anastasia's continued manifestation does not prevent her world and Cube from performing many simultaneous tasks. (Chapters 3052–3057)
Leonel and Aina then devote months to Anastasia herself. They determine that the Minerva stripped a world from its Regulator, rewrote its laws, gave its Spirit enough personality to advise them, and deliberately kept that personality naive enough to control. Because simply directing Anastasia to remove those controls could trigger the vessel's failsafes, Leonel joins her Creation-oriented world to his own Destruction World while Aina helps refine the design. The operation nearly destroys both worlds and Leonel, but it breaks the imposed restraints and leaves Anastasia with genuine self-direction. (Chapters 3115–3119)
Freedom initially burdens rather than comforts her. With a mature awareness, Anastasia reinterprets a long existence of owners and loneliness and wonders whether sentience is worth its pain. Leonel offers to reverse the change rather than keep a powerful asset against her wishes. He and Aina instead give her a personal future by asking her to become their child's godmother; the resulting flood of unfamiliar emotions convinces her to explore happiness as part of their family. (Chapters 3119–3120)
The newly autonomous Anastasia becomes an architect of Leonel's final forces rather than merely their engine. She rejects his biologically unstable first design, weighs her moral disgust at recreating Envoys of Destruction, and proposes a workable human template that uses her authority over Force, evolution, Lineage Factors, and Ability Indexes. She later helps develop a Morales dimensional method and independently prepares the army synchronized to Leonel's constellation and Valor Force. Her last direct report is that those preparations are complete. (Chapters 3120–3122 and 3256)
Appearance and personality
Anastasia usually manifests as an adorable little girl, initially with a floating cloud in place of legs and later often as a fairy-sized figure on Leonel's shoulder. World Spirits can choose their appearance, and after gaining fuller awareness she retains this form because it is the one in which she is most comfortable; her voice alone briefly sounds more mature after the transformation. (Chapters 1632–1633 and 3119)
Her manner combines blunt intelligence with childlike emotional development. She is sharp-tongued enough to mock the Wise Star Order and call Leonel an idiot, protective enough to panic when his self-experiment threatens his life, and dutiful enough to manage years of research and world maintenance without complaint. Her initial naivety is an imposed limitation, not a lack of computational power. Once freed, she develops embarrassment, moral hesitation, and preferences of her own, including an instinctive aversion to creating Destruction-aligned beasts. (Chapters 1633, 1639–1641, 3115–3116, and 3120–3121)
Her strongest emotional bonds are expressed as family rather than ownership. Velasco's death overwhelms her despite the power restored at the same moment, while Leonel and Aina's willingness to surrender her usefulness rather than compel her earns her conscious trust. Accepting the role of godmother marks her choice to live with the pain and joy of full awareness. (Chapters 2176 and 3119–3120)
Abilities and cultivation
Anastasia is a World Spirit whose vessel contains a Complete World comparable to a God Realm. Her strength does not map cleanly onto an ordinary cultivator's dated progression: the corpus describes an old injury, comparative dimensional endpoints, and later structural liberation, but does not give a source-secure chronology of formal realm changes. Her capabilities are also sharply different inside her own world and beyond it. (Chapters 2176, 2445, 2868, and 3115–3119)
World sovereignty and environmental control
Within her world, Anastasia can perceive and control space, Force, terrain, and the movement of residents on a planetary scale. She teleports materials and people, projects information directly to Leonel, carries messages across thousands of miles, stabilizes damaged space, regulates training and laboratories, and can render hostile captives powerless. Her authority is so complete that even experts who could threaten Leonel outside become manageable once enclosed, though exceptional beings such as Nilrem can eventually bypass boundaries that would hold ordinary residents. (Chapters 2456, 2566, 2610, 2693–2695, 2899, and 3117)
Her world can support accelerated time, growth, and evolution, but these are not costless conveniences. Ordinary World Spirits conserve resources and resist actions that shorten a world's viable lifespan; the Minerva rewrote Anastasia's laws specifically so she could disregard those safeguards. After her liberation, she can trigger accelerated evolution deliberately, yet she gains the judgment to evaluate unstable species designs and the moral agency to refuse or revise them. (Chapters 3115–3116 and 3120–3122)
Space, concealment, and world-scale sensing
Anastasia can shrink and hide the Segmented Cube, distort space and time around it, sustain communications within its domain, and extend senses through earth or across an entire world. These scans locate ore bodies, nexus nodes, Zones, experts, conversations, and battlefield structures; when unconcerned with concealment, she can map an ordinary God Realm world in an instant, while the Anarchic Force-filled Inbetween World takes roughly a week. (Chapters 1635, 2409, 2435, 2464–2470, 2688, 2723, 3070, and 3084)
Outside-world sensing has clear counters. Broad scans leave a hallmark detectable by strong Dream Force users, she cannot hide reliably from human Ninth Dimensional experts, and suppressing her signature creates informational gaps. Movement and defense also require a brief accumulation of environmental Force, making the interval before acceleration meaningful to a Ninth Dimensional attacker. Leonel consequently limits her range or declines to scan when secrecy matters more than information. (Chapters 2423, 2435, 2451, and 2806)
Time Force and restoration
Anastasia can rewind observed events, look along streams of time, reverse age or dimensional development inside her world, and use temporal states to support recovery or reconstruction. She can return people toward childhood or the Third Dimension and, after liberation, can pair that reversion with changes to Ability Indexes and Lineage Factors. These effects rely on her sovereignty and knowledge rather than proving unrestricted control over time outside her world. (Chapters 2176, 3091, and 3121)
True resurrection requires more than her power alone. She can expose or reverse the causal path needed by the Silver or Life Tablet, but a high-dimensional descendant can weigh down the link to the dead, and Anastasia herself admits limits to what she can retrieve. The proposed restoration of Aina's mother therefore requires Anastasia, a Wise Tablet, and Elorin's specialized temporal assistance together. (Chapters 2251–2256, 2463, and 3090–3091)
Resource refinement, Crafting, and computation
Her world processes resources at industrial and ecological scale. Anastasia converts matter into Pure Neutral Qi, purifies ores through Cleansing Waters, grows mine deposits over months or years, monitors complex experiments, and reproduces Leonel's established Crafting processes while continuing unrelated world functions. The rate depends on resource investment, starting quality, and the need to avoid detection or damage. (Chapters 1766, 2470, 2566, 2696, and 3057)
A World Spirit's computational capacity surpasses humanoid Dream Force, which is why the Minerva built her as a Crafting aid. Once her artificial limits are removed, Anastasia can analyze any Force available in her world, copy Leonel's Ability Index, draw on Ability Indexes catalogued in the Life Tablet, reverse-engineer the God Beasts of Creation's work, and model viable racial evolution. Her latest applications include designing altered soldiers, mass-producing compatible armor, refining a Morales cultivation method, and preparing Leonel's final army formation. (Chapters 3076, 3116, 3120–3122, and 3256)
Defensive and combat support
Anastasia can draw on a donor's power to create calibrated barriers, stabilize rupturing space, conceal allies, and overwhelm most intruders inside her own world. She can accumulate outside Force for enormous movement, but the build-up time and the Segmented Cube's finite defenses prevent Leonel from treating her as an instant Ninth Dimensional weapon; he considers turning that accumulation into a Ninth Dimensional burst and rejects the idea. Her normal role is therefore protective, logistical, and informational rather than direct dueling. (Chapters 1347, 2423, 2439, 2445, and 2899)
Power progression
| Stage / Realm / Ability | Chapter(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Regression from near Ninth Dimension to barely Third Dimension | Before 2176 | After sacrificing her Grade to shield Velasco from the world's restrictions, Anastasia falls from near the Ninth Dimension to barely the Third and enters a deep sleep; the exact historical chapter is unstated. |
| Ninth Dimension restored | 2176 | Velasco's single-use restoration necklace raises her aura through the pinnacle of the Eighth Dimension and breaks a path into the Ninth. |
| Artificial restraints removed; autonomous new-race state | 3119 | Leonel and Aina's restructuring removes the Minerva's imposed personality limits, giving Anastasia mature self-direction and a state Leonel considers potentially classifiable as a new Race. |
Relationships
- Leonel Morales: Anastasia protects, teaches, scolds, and researches for Leonel, while he gradually stops treating her as an endlessly obedient world function. His willingness to risk his Destruction World to free her—and to undo the result if she prefers ignorance—turns their partnership into an explicitly familial bond. (Chapters 1635–1641 and 3115–3120)
- Aina Morales: Aina works with Leonel to redesign Anastasia's world and shares his view that Anastasia is effectively their first child. Their request that she become the baby's godmother gives Anastasia her first chosen family role after gaining full sentience. (Chapters 3115–3120)
- Velasco: Velasco nurses Anastasia after her catastrophic injury, relies on her protection, and promises to restore her. His final necklace keeps that promise, but Anastasia values him over the recovered power and breaks down over his body. (Chapter 2176)
- Wise Star Order: Anastasia saves the Wise Star Order's threatened soul and tethers him to her world, gaining control over a manipulator who had endangered Leonel. Their relationship is argumentative but productive: she punctures his boasting while both contribute knowledge and training to the Cube's residents. (Chapters 1633–1634 and 2192)
- Little Blackstar, Candle, and Vice: During Leonel's absence, Anastasia preserves the Cube's younger residents while she and the Wise Star Order train Candle and Vice. After developing her own moral preferences, she explicitly treats Blackstar as an exception to her disgust toward Destruction-aligned beasts. (Chapters 1633–1634 and 3121)
Items
- Segmented Cube: The Cube is Anastasia's constructed vessel and the container of her world, not an ownership label for Anastasia herself. She can operate its laboratories, settings, concealment, and daily processes while manifesting independently. (Chapters 1632–1636 and 3057)
- Life Tablet: The Tablet obscures portions of Leonel's history alongside Anastasia's own protection, and its stored Ability Indexes become a library she can apply within her world after her liberation. (Chapters 2939 and 3121)
- Silver Tablet: Anastasia supplies the purified energy used when the Tablet restores Leonel's brothers and later contributes the temporal reach needed for a proposed resurrection beyond its normal limits. (Chapters 1766 and 3090–3091)
- Velasco's Restoration Necklace: Velasco leaves the universe-like gem as the means to fulfill his promise to restore Anastasia. Leonel crushes it in her world, consuming the necklace and releasing its power immediately before Anastasia learns of Velasco's death. (Chapter 2176)
