Little Blackstar

Little Blackstar is a Shadow Sovereign mink whose self-made bond with Leonel Morales develops from an infant's unruly attachment into a partnership between brothers. His control of the Shadow World, talent for mimicry, and later inheritance of Destruction make him both a stealth specialist and one of Leonel's most consequential battlefield partners.

Biography

Camelot, Terrain, and Earth's unification

Little Blackstar first appears beside Leonel during the Merlin Trials, still an infant whom Leonel regards as powerful but too young and inexperienced to be used carelessly. Blackstar is playful and quick to attack perceived threats to Leonel, while Leonel repeatedly restrains him rather than spend his strength without need. Their unusual bond lets them exchange intentions through the Trials' Perfect Union skill; this makes Blackstar's speed and Shadow World useful under Leonel's direction without reducing him to an obedient weapon. When Leonel is cornered, Blackstar chooses to pull him into the Shadow World and then releases his strongest attack, exhausting himself to secure their escape. Leonel carries him away rather than demand more from a companion who has already given everything he can. (Chapters 272, 274, and 294–300)

The partnership acquires direction when Montez identifies Blackstar as a young Shadow Sovereign and explains that his talent can develop along several branches. Leonel recognizes that Blackstar has already copied the sharpness ability of an enemy shadow, and Montez helps infuse Dark Mimicry Bat blood so the dormant Mimicry path can develop safely. Blackstar's place in the group also becomes personal rather than merely tactical: he quickly accepts Aina Morales as a playmate through his bond with Leonel, fights beside her during Earth's battles, and uses ropes of darkness to keep her from harming herself while her body is being cleansed. These actions establish the pattern of his early life—mischievous in safety, but protective when Leonel or Aina is vulnerable. (Chapters 332, 342, 397, 416–417, and 500)

Valiant Heart and the Four Great Families

As Leonel's responsibilities grow, Blackstar becomes someone the group can trust with an incapacitated companion. After Leonel pushes himself beyond consciousness, Blackstar responds to Aina's request by carrying him on a cloud of darkness during the retreat. His role is still shaped by youth and limited battle judgment, but Leonel's guidance turns his raw superiority into reliable support; by the time he is at the Quasi Fifth-Dimensional level, his incorporeal state can hide him even from recording devices, allowing him to surprise enemies who have prepared extensively for Leonel and Aina but do not know he is present. This phase also clarifies why Leonel is unusually protective of him. Blackstar had approached their first encounter as play without understanding the danger, while Leonel had nearly killed him rather than risk allowing Simeon to control such a creature. Remembering that choice later, Leonel treats Blackstar's continued freedom and growth as a responsibility. Blackstar in turn remains close by choice: he plays with Tolly, perches on Leonel, and intervenes when Leonel's enemies threaten the group, but he is never described as Leonel's property. Void Palace and the Rapax conflict

Blackstar's growth becomes more complicated after he takes in Void Beast blood. The sheer value of that blood makes even a hypothetical clone prohibitively difficult, while the assimilation itself forces him into a long sleep. Leonel uses the Silver Tablet to shorten the process and perfect the integration, leaving Blackstar at Tier 1 of the Fifth Dimension but qualitatively stronger and capable of suppressing the Umbra family's related shadow inheritance. The result expands Blackstar's future, but it also begins a long-running problem: Leonel has introduced a power too great and too foreign for a young beast whose natural developmental instincts are not yet mature. In the Rapax hive, Blackstar accepts a dangerous reconnaissance task because his Shadow World can map a region that Leonel and Aina cannot safely survey. He pushes his Domain beyond its accustomed bounds to reveal the hive network, only to be detected and wounded by another Shadow Sovereign. Leonel's anger exposes the emotional cost of relying on him: he knows Blackstar is a capable warrior, yet still sees the young mink as a little brother whose injury he should have prevented. When the Segmented Cube subsequently collapses and Blackstar disappears with it, Leonel treats the possible loss of his companion as more important than the treasures and resources that vanished, driving himself through the Void Library in search of a way to recover Blackstar and Tolly. Heir Wars and the wider Dimensional Verse

After more than twenty years pass inside the restored Cube, Blackstar reunites with Leonel as a much larger, more mature mink well into the Sixth Dimension. His immediate affection confirms that the separation has not broken their bond: he overwhelms Leonel with an enthusiastic greeting, then returns to Aina's arms as naturally as before. His body and thoughts have matured, but the familiar playfulness remains, allowing the reunion to restore the family relationship Leonel feared he had lost. (Chapters 1631–1636)

By the Heir Wars, Blackstar has entered the Seventh Dimension and can turn his Dark Force into an enormous dragon-like battle form. Fighting with Leonel, he tears down fortified territory with a breath that absorbs Force in its path and grows stronger like Anarchic Force, while Leonel's spear passes through the attack without disrupting it. Their coordination converts Blackstar's destructive area attack into a weapon that can be used around an ally, but Leonel also recognizes that their teamwork still depends heavily on tacit understanding rather than the disciplined beast formations used by the Golden family. That comparison gives the partnership a remaining avenue for growth: Blackstar has extraordinary individual talent, while he and Leonel still have to learn how fully their joined souls can work as one. God Realm and Dream Pavilion struggles

The Void Beast inheritance eventually becomes a source of frustration rather than effortless progress. Blackstar, able to sense Leonel pulling ahead, ignores Leonel's advice and tries to comprehend the Void Beast corpse directly instead of beginning with the lesser Shadow Tail. Leonel realizes that giving him Void Beast blood so early buried rather than unlocked part of his natural potential, and accepts responsibility for having interfered without sufficient knowledge. He persuades Blackstar to rebuild from the Mimicry path that was truly his own, using the Shadow Tail's flexible darkness as a bridge rather than killing and reanimating Blackstar to force a fusion with the Void Beast corpse. Blackstar yields not as a subordinate, but as a young partner finally receiving the guidance Leonel had been too hands-off to provide. (Chapters 2217 and 2326–2327)

More than a year of training inside an Incomplete World vindicates that slower course. Blackstar emerges with abyssal fur, finer Dark Force control, and the ability to shift Leonel into an incorporeal state with far less strain. He protects Leonel while the latter recovers, kills with precise transitions between fog-like and solid darkness, and later works with Aina to eliminate a Godlen commander. These successes show a change in method as well as strength: where his earlier battles were driven by raw speed and power, his Shadow Tail study gives those powers form, restraint, and tactical efficiency. His protection still has hard limits. Carrying Leonel through the Shadow World prevents either of them from interacting with the physical world, prolonged concealment eventually exhausts him, and dense Ninth-Dimensional Urbe Ore nearly drains him before he can reach a pocket of safety. Leonel therefore alternates between relying on Blackstar and ordering him to rest, rather than treating intangibility as an unlimited escape. Their relationship remains affectionate during these pressures: Blackstar shows off his progress, naps through threats that terrify others, and continues choosing Aina's shoulder or arms whenever they are available. The final war and a transformed Existence

Blackstar enters the later war with greater initiative, appearing when he senses Leonel's agitation and diving into an enemy army without needing an order. His long study of the Shadow Tail and Void Beast corpse has already brought him to a Demi-God standard, but openly using Anarchic Force would draw dangerous attention and expose him to the world's Regulator. When Leonel acquires Void Race resources carrying a force close to Anarchic Force, he recognizes a safer route forward and gives them to Blackstar. The resulting advance lets Blackstar copy a Celestial Terra's form and project his Shadow World over reality, allowing Leonel to alternate between corporeal attack and incorporeal defense as part of a single joined combat system. (Chapters 2801, 2817, and 2890–2904)

That leap is powerful but exhausting. Blackstar cannot maintain the projected Shadow World indefinitely; after prolonged combat with Fallen God Beasts, it falters and he is left without stamina. Leonel accordingly sends him back to the Cube rather than force him past collapse. The limitation does not stop Blackstar from pursuing the larger transformation he has sought for years. With energy taken from a Celestial Terra and the foundations built through the Shadow Tail and Void Beast, he breaks into the Eighth Dimension and awakens an Inherited Idol of Destruction—an inheritance normally associated with True Gods of Destruction. His Idol stabilizes and amplifies Leonel's Destruction World, making Blackstar the spiritual center of the group's stand against the Gods. (Chapters 2906–2908 and 2999–3006)

The war also marks his emotional maturation. He assumes a Void Beast form when Leonel commits everything against the Primordial Terror, expending himself until Aina has to hold him while he recovers. Years later, he remains playful with Leonel but possesses the judgment of a powerful adult; continued study has made him comparable to a true Envoy of Destruction, and Leonel regards him plainly as a brother. In the confrontation with Gervaise, Blackstar uses false shadow forms to misdirect the Emperor, carries Leonel into the attack, and combines Anarchic Force with the Sea Goddess's power of Creation. He withdraws when Leonel and Gervaise make their final clash, ending the supplied corpus alive and still fighting as an autonomous partner. (Chapters 3018–3022, 3103, and 3250–3252)

Appearance and personality

Little Blackstar is a black mink with long whiskers, reflective black eyes, and a body initially only a little over a foot long. As an infant he commonly lies around Leonel's neck or on his head. After the long time dilation inside the Segmented Cube, he grows to roughly three feet long and substantially thicker; later descriptions place him at about a meter, with fur so abyssally black that it appears to swallow light. His natural body remains small beside most beasts of comparable power even after he reaches the Seventh and Eighth Dimensions, though mimicry and Dark Force let him assume enormous dragon, tortoise, and Void Beast forms. He is affectionate, proud, competitive, and persistently mischievous. He enjoys perching on Leonel, treats Aina's chest as his preferred resting place, and maintains a sibling-like rivalry with Tolly. Early play can be dangerously rough because his strength far exceeds his judgment, but he reacts anxiously when Leonel is injured and repeatedly volunteers protection without being called. As his thoughts mature, pride becomes a drive to keep pace with Leonel and Tolly; even after gaining the perspective of a powerful adult, he retains the yips, teasing, and physical affection of his youth. Abilities and cultivation

Little Blackstar's power is rooted in an innate Shadow Sovereign ability whose branches include control of the Shadow World and mimicry. Void Beast blood later introduces Anarchic Force and the inheritance of a God Beast of Destruction, but this foreign power initially disrupts his natural development. His mature path succeeds by using mimicry to understand the Shadow Tail, Void Beast, and other beasts in sequence, culminating in Eighth-Dimensional cultivation and an Inherited Idol of Destruction. Shadow Sovereignty and the Shadow World

Blackstar's Shadow World is a mirror of the real world in which shadows predominate. He can occupy three states: fully present in reality; visibly projected in reality while his physical body is in the Shadow World; or wholly withdrawn into the Shadow World. The second state makes him incorporeal while preserving a visible or audible presence, whereas the third removes him completely and is much harder to detect without a sufficiently strong Darkness affinity. What looks like teleportation is not ordinary spatial movement: Blackstar enters the Shadow World, folds the mirrored Domain, and reappears elsewhere. This distinction also lets him enter and leave the Segmented Cube under conditions that stop ordinary movement. (Chapters 452, 831, 1353, and 3170)

Within a location mirrored by the Shadow World, a Shadow Sovereign can establish a Domain and gain detailed awareness and control of it. Blackstar uses this to scout from above the Rapax hives, bypass obstructing fog, and construct a map for Leonel. He can also use the Shadow World as storage and can leave his vital organs there while sleeping, making him appear lifeless to observers. His incorporeal state defeats ordinary physical attacks and cameras cannot record him in the form he habitually uses, giving him exceptional value for infiltration and ambush. The ability is not absolute immunity. Full withdrawal places Blackstar on a stamina-limited timer, and pushing his Domain through dense, Anarchic-Force-tempered barriers causes pain and sharply reduces its reach. While incorporeal, he cannot attack or manipulate real objects; to strike, open a door, or otherwise interact, he must expose himself by becoming corporeal. Destruction-infused attacks can reach him even while displaced, rival Shadow Sovereigns can contest the shared Shadow World, and carrying another person is much more expensive than shifting alone. His capacity improves from being exhausted by saving Leonel once to carrying him for days under ordinary conditions, but hours of active infiltration and dense Ninth-Dimensional Urbe Ore can still drain him to collapse. At higher mastery, Blackstar can project the Shadow World over reality and extend its state changes to Leonel. This lets Leonel choose between corporeality and incorporeality with a thought, though he still cannot attack while intangible. Blackstar can combine this projection with copied beast forms and Leonel's Destruction World, creating a joined field that supplies defense, mobility, and the basis for their later Destruction techniques. Sustaining that field against Fallen God Beasts nevertheless exhausts Blackstar, demonstrating that the larger scale increases rather than removes the ability's cost. (Chapters 2903–2906)

Mimicry and assimilated bloodlines

Mimicry treats a shadow as something unique like a soul: Blackstar can analyze that imprint, take it into his Shadow World, and reproduce part of its ability. Early on he can hold only one absorbed ability at a time, and the strength and completeness of what he copies are uncertain. Other people can theoretically use him as a proxy to absorb a shadow, but unlike Blackstar they risk the new shadow altering their soul and personality. Dark Mimicry Bat blood awakens and strengthens this branch without replacing his innate path, and the Silver Tablet later completes the blood's integration so thoroughly that the result appears inborn rather than mutated. (Chapters 332, 342, 417, and 1083)

The Void Beast blood is different. It gives Blackstar access to an immensely valuable Destruction inheritance, but taking it while young blunts the instincts that should tell a beast how to progress. His attempt to skip directly to the Void Beast corpse produces little progress, so Leonel redirects him to the Shadow Tail: a creature whose amorphous darkness can become many shapes and therefore matches mimicry rather than competing with it. The correction improves not only output but technique, letting Blackstar move Dark Force from intangible fog to blade-like solidity, use strength explosively, and carry Leonel into the Shadow World with far less strain. (Chapters 1001, 2326–2327, and 2358–2359)

Later mimicry is no longer limited to borrowing one simple attack. Blackstar forms enormous beasts from Dark Force, copies a Celestial Terra's tortoise body and defensive principles, and projects the Shadow World through that copied form. He can also take the shape of a Void Beast or produce a false Void Beast image to conceal the real position of himself and Leonel. By the latest supplied chapters, years spent studying multiple God Beasts of Destruction have made him no weaker than a true Envoy of Destruction, although the narrative does not establish that every copied form grants every ability of its source. Dark Force, Anarchic Force, and Destruction

Blackstar can shape darkness into ropes, tendrils, claws, platforms, blades, and large beast bodies. These constructs serve offense, restraint, transport, and protection: he holds Aina in the Cleansing Waters, carries an unconscious Leonel on a dark cloud, pierces groups of enemies, and uses dragon-like forms to break fortifications. His speed and strength remain formidable even before later transformations, but his early lack of battle sense means that Leonel's direction is often what turns those physical advantages into effective tactics. (Chapters 299–300, 500, 537, 831, 1127, 1353, and 2358–2359)

Void Beast inheritance gives his darkness properties resembling Anarchic Force. His Seventh-Dimensional breath swallows Force as it advances, adding what it consumes to the attack instead of merely colliding with it. His Dark Force is explicitly in the Impetus State by Chapter 2428, the latest formal manipulation state the corpus names for it; later improvements do not receive a newer formal label. He can learn to use Anarchic Force directly, but progress is slow, openly revealing it is dangerous, and early applications misuse it for mimicry-based illusions rather than following the Void Beast's pure destructive nature. Studying the Shadow Tail first and later taking in Void Race resources close to Anarchic Force allow him to reconcile that inheritance with his own path instead of becoming an imitation of a Void Beast. At the Eighth-Dimensional breakthrough, Blackstar awakens an Inherited Idol of Destruction. The Idol embodies a doctrine that Existence continues to sustain beyond its originator and is associated here with True Gods of Destruction. Blackstar uses it to reinforce Leonel's Destruction World, knock away large groups through its pressure, and support attacks against Gods whose individual Dimensions exceed his own. The breakthrough does not erase the hierarchy between them: newly Eighth-Dimensional Blackstar cannot react to or match a Tier 5 Ninth-Dimensional Goddess by himself, and prolonged support drains him until he can no longer continue. Bond and coordinated combat

Blackstar creates the original bond by tying Leonel's shadow to his own, a reversal of ordinary beast contracts that places Blackstar in the nominal master position. Perfect Union initially lets them exchange intentions faster and more directly than speech, compensating for Blackstar's inability to speak human language. The connection also gives Blackstar unusually clear access to Leonel's condition and emotions, explaining why he appears without being summoned when Leonel is distressed. Leonel consistently calls the relationship one of equals, and later understands it as an intertwining of souls comparable in closeness to his bond with Aina. (Chapters 272, 296, 397, 2326, 2801, and 2904)

Their best combat applications depend on that intimacy. Leonel directs Blackstar's timing and target selection; Blackstar supplies stealth, altered corporeality, copied bodies, and Destruction support. Leonel's Spear Domain control allows his weapon to pass through Blackstar's Dark Force breath without friendly interference, while the projected Shadow World lets them share defensive transitions instantly. A later soul loop through the Dream Plane connects Leonel, Blackstar, and Tolly so Leonel can benefit from their lineages while his Wise Star and Sea Order foundation strengthens both companions. This is a mutual amplification rather than ownership or one-way borrowing. (Chapters 1970, 2903–2904, and 3112)

• Leonel Morales: Blackstar ties Leonel's shadow to his own and makes him the nominal beast companion, but both treat the bond as an equal partnership. Leonel guides his growth, accepts responsibility for the harm caused by premature Void Beast blood, and ultimately regards him as a brother; Blackstar repeatedly protects Leonel and shares his Shadow and Destruction powers with him.
