Biography

Soul-toxin researcher and expedition casualty

Billy is a grim senior apprentice whose cold response to news of his brother Bill's death establishes that the two are separate people and that Billy prizes emotional control. Under Gudo, he develops the soul toxin later adapted by Keli and is assigned as Saul's institutional research partner. Despite his reputation and strength, he cannot escape the Head Monsters during the Elven Valley expedition, demonstrating how the valley's pollution destroys even accomplished high-level apprentices. Appearance and personality

Billy is a male apprentice with a grim expression and an emotionally remote manner. He is focused, dangerous, and more invested in research results than family sentiment.

Abilities

His principal achievement is a toxin that attacks the soul; he is also a formidable senior apprentice capable of joining a hazardous Elven Valley expedition.

Relationships

• Bill: Bill is Billy's deceased brother, not an alias or alternate spelling of Billy.
• Keli: Keli improves Billy's soul toxin and measures her own Alpha toxin against his earlier work.
