Exposure of the gray-tail experiments
Benjamin used his Sighing Wall authority to conduct secret gray-tail transformations and treated subordinates as material when the work escaped control. He tried to feed Delen to a specimen and silence him, but Saul intervened, defeated Benjamin's Blade Hell, and restrained him. Murphy judged Benjamin and four accomplices by assigning them to the most dangerous front towers until death. Benjamin remained alive at the latest confirmation, but his position, freedom, and prospects had been replaced by compulsory attrition. (Chapters 930–935)
Appearance and personality
Benjamin carries himself with a senior wizard's authority and expects subordinates to obey. He is technically ambitious, secretive, and callous, valuing preservation of his experiments over the lives used to sustain them.
