Muse

Muse is a gray-robed Zifu Disciple who accompanies Dong Ziqi against the Ji clan. He uses rapidly growing vines to seize enemies and later helps summon Snowdragon Mountain reinforcements. He is not the later female Chaos Immortal named Muse who becomes Ji Ning's sixth disciple.

Biography

Elemental mine confrontation

Muse joins Dong Ziqi's five-person force when Snowdragon Mountain attempts to claim the Ji clan's elemental ore mine. Ziqi assigns him to capture the sixteen-year-old Ji Ning, but Ning begins breaking free of the vine technique and forces Muse to pour all his ki into restraining him. The failure convinces Ziqi that Ning is much stronger than expected and helps push the confrontation toward the Eight Trigrams Blood Dragon Formation. (Chapters 90–92)

Escape and reinforcements

Inside the Netherwyrm Heavenlock Formation, Muse regroups with Ziqi while other branch disciples are isolated and killed. He extends his vines through the bewildering fog and finds a route outside, allowing the pair to escape to Snowdragon Mountain. Muse then travels without rest to Landwyrm Mountain, reports the Ji clan's formation and Ning's power to Jadechild, and carries invitations to further experts. He returns with Nong Zidao, but Ning breaches the combined defenses at Oxhorn Mountain and decapitates him. (Chapters 93–115)

Appearance and personality

Muse is a gray-robed man. He is disciplined enough to exhaust his ki maintaining a technique and resourceful enough to use its range as an escape route, but he relies heavily on stronger senior disciples once the Ji clan's formation reverses the expected balance. His joy at finding a way out shows how thoroughly the formation has shaken him. (Chapters 90–100)

Abilities and cultivation

Growing green vines

Muse channels ki into vines that grow through the battlefield, bind a target, and can be extended far enough to probe beyond bewildering fog. Ji Ning can progressively break the restraint, forcing Muse to increase his output until he is sweating and red-eyed. The technique is therefore useful for capture and route-finding but can be overcome by superior physical power. (Chapters 90–97 and 114)

Zifu cultivation and formation support

He is one of the stronger Zifu Disciples in the Swallow Mountain branch, ranked behind Ziqi but above the He siblings. He can help maintain the Eight Trigrams Blood Dragon Formation and later fights inside layered group defenses. Those protections do not save him once Ning breaks their formation and reaches the users directly. (Chapters 95–96 and 110–115)
