Dong Ziqi

Dong Ziqi is the black-robed leader of Snowdragon Mountain's Swallow Mountain branch. His attempt to seize the Ji clan's elemental ore mine begins the Oxhorn Mountain conflict and ultimately destroys his expedition.

Biography

Claiming the elemental ore mine

Ziqi brings four fellow Zifu Disciples to force the Ji clan from its land after discovering the mine. He prefers intimidation backed by the Eight Trigrams Blood Dragon Formation, but Ji Ning's resistance to Muse's vines reveals that the local clan is not the easy target he expected. Once negotiations collapse, Ziqi commits to lethal force and directs the formation against the Ji clan. (Chapters 89–93)

Trapped by the Ji clan

Ninefire activates the Netherwyrm Heavenlock Formation, separates the attackers, and kills the weaker groups. Ziqi reunites with Muse and hears his comrades' deaths while unable to reach them through the fog. Although enraged, he avoids charging blindly. Muse's vines finally locate an exit, allowing the two to escape and report to Snowdragon Mountain. (Chapters 93–100)

Return and death

Rather than abandon the mine, Ziqi helps summon Jadechild, Zidao, and additional disciples. He re-enters Oxhorn Mountain inside stronger layered formations, still directing murderous hostility toward Ning. The reinforcements fail to solve the Ji clan's home-ground advantage; Ning breaks through the protections and kills Ziqi with the other Swallow Mountain attackers. (Chapters 104–117)

Appearance and personality

Ziqi is a black-robed, hawk-nosed man with a cold, insidious gaze. He is proud, controlling, and willing to gamble subordinates' lives for sect interests. He can nevertheless restrain immediate fury when the formation denies him a target, relying on Muse's escape work and later reinforcements rather than wasting himself in the fog. (Chapters 89–100)

Abilities and cultivation

Eight Trigrams Blood Dragon Formation

Ziqi is the central commander of a formation that manifests eight shadowy blood dragons. It combines the power of multiple Zifu Disciples and is intended to turn an organized squad into a decisive force. The Netherwyrm Heavenlock Formation counters it by isolating its users and controlling their access to the battlefield. (Chapters 92–96 and 114)

Peak Zifu cultivation

He is the strongest field combatant in the original five-person branch group, above Muse and the He siblings. His confidence is substantial enough that he considers killing Ning personally, but doing so would commit the formation and eliminate room for compromise. No separate named personal technique is established beyond his formation command. (Chapters 92–96)

Command limitations

Ziqi's tactics depend on reliable information and grouped subordinates. Ninefire's fog prevents him from locating endangered allies, and the loss of formation cohesion removes his greatest advantage. His decision to return with reinforcements improves raw strength but repeats the strategic mistake of entering the Ji clan's prepared formation. (Chapters 93–117)
