Lord Wulf

Lord Wulf is a Golden Emperor who commands one of the Icepeak Army's three divisions. Accustomed to acquiring treasures through conquest, he leads the attempt to take Ji Ning's realmship and survives a humiliating defeat by the Flamewing God before the Lonely King's death releases him from compulsory service.

Biography

General of the Icepeak Army

Wulf resides at Mount Doom in the Skywolf Realmverse, where twelve Black Emperors are assigned to his command. Six normally remain with him while two patrol groups range through the Chaosverse, forming an intelligence network that lets the Icepeak Army intervene quickly whenever valuable opportunities appear. Wulf's wealth comes from repeated massacres and plunder, and even Hegemons treat his expeditionary resources as immense. (Chapters 1256–1257)

When three patrol officers report that a Daolord possesses both a realmship and control of the Jadefire Realm, Wulf does not attack blindly. Ning's Hegemon-level strength and unusual retainer first make him ask whether the Daolord is an Autarch's disciple or protected by Realmslord Windgrace. Once he concludes that no patron will prevent action, the army's normal assumptions reassert themselves: a Daolord's refusal to surrender property is treated as an insult requiring overwhelming force. Wulf gathers nine Black Emperors and pays Hegemon Thunderstar to transport them across the distant realmverses. (Chapters 1256–1260)

Defeat at Vastheaven Palace

Wulf arrives expecting the combined power of one Golden Emperor and nine Black Emperors to make resistance impossible. Emperor Waveshift's presence encourages a moment of caution, but Ning's continued refusal provokes Wulf into ordering the extermination of Vastheaven Palace. The command turns a treasure demand into an attempted massacre and gives Flamewing permission to attack. (Chapter 1261)

Flamewing kills five Black Emperors before Wulf can cross the battlefield. Wulf then uses twin sabers against the Chaos Primordial, but the difference in speed and raw power is decisive: Flamewing repeatedly knocks him backward and treats the duel as an annoyance. Wulf's Golden Emperor body prevents visible injury, while his refined saber arts let him answer each charge, yet every exchange consumes the manufactured body's internal energy. He finally retreats before exhaustion makes even that durable form vulnerable. (Chapters 1261–1265)

The defeat changes his conduct without immediately changing his allegiance. Wulf calls on the Lonely King rather than trying a second independent assault and later waits near Vastheaven Palace for Ning's Daomerge. He understands that an Eternal Omega Sword Dao would make Ning virtually untouchable and that a failed Daomerge could make him dangerously unpredictable, but the Lonely King's command still requires the Icepeak Army to compete with Windgrace for Flamewing. (Chapters 1266 and 1287–1290)

Freedom after the Lonely King's death

After Ning kills the Lonely King, Wulf joins the remaining Golden and Black Emperors in surrendering. He admits the army's offense and offers to accept punishment, then explains why the soldiers also feel gratitude: the Ritual Sacrificium that gave them their new bodies placed their lives under the Lonely King's complete control. His death ends that compulsion. Ning chooses not to punish them and instead asks for information about Nuwa. (Chapter 1292)

Wulf canvasses the army's widely traveled members but finds no one who has heard of her. His last confirmed action is therefore cooperation rather than conquest. The corpus leaves him alive and autonomous, without establishing what organization he builds after the Icepeak Army's old command structure collapses. (Chapter 1293)

Appearance and personality

Wulf is a humanoid figure whose body appears made entirely of gold and is covered with silver diagrams. His gaze is icy, and his transformed aura vastly exceeds those of the onyx Black Emperors. (Chapter 1256)

He is suspicious enough to investigate Ning's backing but brutal once he believes the target isolated. His order to erase Vastheaven Palace reflects an army culture that equates refusal with defiance. Defeat brings rage rather than immediate reflection, yet he is capable of recognizing changed reality: after the Lonely King's death, he speaks plainly about coercion, submits without posturing, and performs Ning's requested search. (Chapters 1256–1265 and 1292–1293)

Abilities and cultivation

Wulf is a Golden Emperor, an Eternal Emperor transformed through the Sithe's most powerful Ritual Sacrificium. The process raises him to Otherverse Lord-level combat power and gives him a body even tougher than that of most cultivators at the same effective level. (Chapter 1256)

Golden Emperor body

The ritual replaces Wulf's ordinary cultivator body with a gold-colored construct-like form patterned by silver diagrams. Flamewing can dominate him and launch him backward across a collapsing region of spacetime, yet repeated full-force collisions leave no visible scratch. This makes destroying him through ordinary Hegemon-level force nearly impossible. (Chapters 1256 and 1262)

The body is not a limitless source of power. Sustained combat drains its stored energy, and Wulf recognizes that remaining against Flamewing will eventually place his life at risk. He can also be killed by weapons on the scale of Realmslord Windgrace's fully powered Blacksun. Durability therefore extends his survival window; it does not erase exhaustion or attacks beyond Otherverse Lord scale. (Chapters 1262 and 1287)

Hegemonic saber arts

Wulf fights with a saber in each hand. His paired strikes create rainbow-like arcs of saber-light, and the narrative describes the underlying technique as exquisitely refined and Hegemonic in level. Against Flamewing, those arts can halt the beast for an instant but cannot overcome its superior raw power or body. (Chapter 1262)

Command and intelligence network

As one of three Icepeak generals, Wulf has twelve Black Emperors assigned to him and can deploy them in patrol and combat groups. Nine acting together reach Otherverse Lord-level power, although their collective strength does not make them fast enough to escape Flamewing. The patrol system supplies realm-spanning intelligence, while Wulf's authority lets him assemble an expedition immediately. This is organizational capability rather than an innate sensing power. (Chapters 1256–1257 and 1293)

Relationships

  • Lonely King: Wulf serves as one of his three generals because the transformed soldiers' lives are under the king's control. The king's death frees Wulf from that compulsion. (Chapters 1289–1292)
  • Ji Ning: Wulf tries to seize Ning's realmship, orders Vastheaven Palace destroyed, and later surrenders after Ning kills the Lonely King. Ning spares him and asks for help locating Nuwa. (Chapters 1256–1293)
  • Flamewing God: Flamewing destroys most of Wulf's expedition and repeatedly overpowers him, but cannot quickly destroy his Golden Emperor body. (Chapters 1261–1265)
  • Realmslord Windgrace: Wulf recognizes Windgrace as a force capable of challenging the entire Icepeak Army and expects to face him over control of Flamewing. (Chapters 1287–1292)

Items

  • Twin sabers: Wulf's paired weapons channel his Hegemonic saber arts against Flamewing. Their names, rank, and postwar disposition are not established. (Chapter 1262)
  • Mount Doom: Wulf's fortified estate and divisional base in the Skywolf Realmverse houses his Black Emperor subordinates. It is a location rather than a portable possession. (Chapter 1256)
