Keeper Everwood

Keeper Everwood is the Seamless Gate's broadly accomplished elder strategist, a calm master of formations and treasure-forging who conceals Elder God power until the Endwar and ultimately sacrifices himself against Old Man Yuan.

Biography

Strategist of the First World

The Godking seeks Everwood's advice after Ji Ning begins using the Voidboat and Ninehorn Lightning Serpent to devastate Seamless Gate bases. Everwood does not offer false certainty. He explains that the Brightvoid Worldlock Formation needs 640 Empyrean Gods and True Immortals and that truly sealing Ning would require at least five thousand, a mobilization large enough to expose the alliance's own worlds to attack. He also states the politically dangerous alternative plainly: a True God or Daofather could kill Ning, but doing so might trigger the Endwar. (Chapters 616–617)

Everwood then studies the sequence of Ning's escape rather than merely its spectacular speed. He notices that Ning must first enter the Voidboat before carrying the entire Rahu formation with the lightning serpent, creating a tiny interval in which an attack might land. This analysis shows why the Seamless Gate values him: he combines formations, logistics, and detailed observation, and he distinguishes a guaranteed plan from a gamble instead of flattering the nominal leader. Hidden major power

Everwood's reputation extends beyond one specialty. He is described as skilled in formations, treasure-forging, offense, and defense, and he commands the Seamless Gate's First World with more than ten thousand Empyrean Gods and True Immortals under its protection. Despite that authority, he presents himself as calm and charismatic rather than bloodthirsty. During confrontations with Xuan Yuan and Patriarch Subhuti, he confidently evaluates their personal combat strength and expresses a long-standing desire to test the power Subhuti has concealed. (Chapters 617 and 680)

His own concealment is even greater. During the Endwar, Daoist Three Purities discovers that Everwood has advanced to become an Elder God. The revelation explains how he can resist the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation, a weapon array so dangerous that even defensive specialists face tremendous pressure from it. Everwood's breadth is not a claim to being best at everything; it is the ability to remain effective while opposing the highest-tier offensive formations in the Three Realms. (Chapters 738 and 740)

Loyalty, sacrifice, and restoration

Everwood's composure breaks when Ning's Triult Sword Formation pierces Daomother Devilhand's defense and leaves her coughing blood. His frantic cry reveals genuine attachment to an old ally beneath the Seamless Gate's strategic calculations. As the war turns against both alliances under Old Man Yuan's intervention, Everwood joins Daoist Three Purities, Tathagata, and Buddha Jueming in self-detonating against the common enemy. Ning later remembers those detonations as defining sacrifices of the Endwar. (Chapters 740, 752, and 797)

At the end of the story, Ning remakes the Three Realms and brings back the Immortals and Fiendgods who died in its wars. Lord Everwood is explicitly among those restored. His final status therefore supersedes the death recorded after the Endwar: he dies by sacrifice, but lives again in the world Ning recreates. (Chapter 1450)

Appearance and personality

Everwood is portrayed as charismatic, calm, analytical, and unusually versatile. He gives the Godking hard numbers and uncomfortable consequences rather than simple reassurance. His strategic restraint contrasts with Lord Demonheart's bloodlust, while his alarm over Devilhand shows that restraint is not emotional emptiness. He also hides his Elder God breakthrough successfully from ancient opponents, demonstrating patience and self-control at the highest level of war. (Chapters 616–617, 680, 738, and 740)

Abilities and cultivation

Elder God body

Everwood secretly advances to Elder God, giving him a vastly stronger divine body and the endurance required to survive clashes at the top of the Endwar. His concealment prevents enemies from planning around his true level until battle is underway. (Chapter 738)

Defensive mastery

He can withstand the Immortal Slaying Sword Formation well enough to be singled out as a defensive specialist, although the formation still places him under severe pressure. His defense is therefore elite, not invulnerable. (Chapters 738 and 740)

Brightvoid Worldlock Formation

Everwood provides a formation designed to suppress spacetime movement and limit the Voidboat. Its standard deployment uses 640 Empyrean Gods and True Immortals; a near-certain containment of Ning would require a far larger surrounding formation of roughly five thousand. (Chapters 616–617)

Formation and treasure expertise

He is accomplished in creating formations and forging treasures while also possessing strong offensive and defensive methods. This breadth lets him connect resource requirements, battlefield geometry, and the limitations of individual artifacts. (Chapters 616–617 and 738)

Tactical analysis

By examining the order in which Ning enters the Voidboat and activates the Ninehorn Lightning Serpent, Everwood identifies a short vulnerable window. The insight does not guarantee a kill, but it converts an apparently untouchable evasion method into a concrete operational problem. (Chapter 617)

Self-detonation

Everwood sacrifices his Elder God body in a coordinated detonation against Old Man Yuan. The technique converts his remaining life and power into a final attack, making it fatal to the user and valuable only because several major powers act together. (Chapters 752 and 797)
