Godking

Godking, whose name is Clothred, is the black-robed nominal leader of the Seamless Gate, a coercive operator whose authority depends on stronger primordial powers and whose manipulation of Yu Wei makes him Ji Ning's most personal enemy in the Three Realms war.

Biography

The hidden commander

The Godking first operates from concealment, receiving reports and directing agents while the Seamless Gate prepares its struggle against the Nuwa Alliance. His title projects supreme authority, but the older major powers do not regard him as the alliance's true center. The Lord of All Fiends holds greater practical power, while Clothred's master, Lord Demonheart, remains the figure under whose shelter he most hopes to stand. His leadership is therefore real at the operational level but “nominal” at the primordial one. (Chapters 359, 584, and 745–746)

Enslaving Yu Wei

Clothred's most consequential agent is Yu Wei. He exploits her prior ties to the Seamless Gate and her love for Ning, responding to disobedience with threats of eternal torment in the Infinity Hells. Apparent forgiveness is another control mechanism: he preserves her usefulness while making clear that betrayal will bring suffering to her and those she loves. Under this pressure, Yu Wei acts inside the Nuwa Alliance until the conflict culminates in her public death. (Chapters 495, 546, and 617)

The Godking then lets Ning believe Yu Wei remains imprisoned in the Infinity Hells. The claim keeps Ning emotionally vulnerable and gives Clothred a threat he can invoke even after she is gone. It also helps provoke Ning's devastating campaign against Seamless bases. When senior Seamless powers begin asking why Ning is raging about his wife, the Godking has to confront the fact that his private coercion has created a strategic catastrophe for the entire alliance. War against Darknorth

As Ning becomes harder to contain, Clothred turns to Keeper Everwood. He asks for certainty but rejects plans whose cost might expose the Seamless worlds or trigger the Endwar, repeatedly seeking a method that will kill Ning without forcing the alliance to accept equivalent risk. Everwood identifies a vulnerable instant in Ning's use of the Voidboat and Ninehorn Lightning Serpent, while the Godking coordinates archers, Empyrean Gods, True Immortals, formations, and golems around the attempt. The same pattern continues through the Realmwar and Endwar: Clothred commands and pressures, but major battlefield execution belongs to powers such as Daomother Devilhand and Everwood. His operational reach is enormous, yet his increasingly frazzled response to Ning exposes the gap between directing resources and possessing the personal strength to solve the crisis himself. End of the road

Clothred rejoices when Lord Demonheart returns, expecting his master to restore the hierarchy on which his security depends. Demonheart's sudden death leaves him stunned. To end the war, the Nuwa Alliance demands the black-robed Godking, and the Lord of All Fiends orders Clothred to sacrifice himself for the Seamless Gate. Clothred protests that surrendering its leader would disgrace the alliance, but his terror and attempt to flee reveal that survival—not institutional honor—is his priority. (Chapters 745–746)

The Lord of All Fiends binds him with an azure rope and hands him over. Ning refuses to let the Godking die quickly, promising to repay Yu Wei's torment many times over and using inherited methods to prevent suicide. The scoped corpus does not show a later release or restoration for Clothred, so his final documented fate is captivity and punishment in Ning's hands. (Chapter 746)

Appearance and personality

The Godking is a black-robed figure associated with darkness, secrecy, and a carefully maintained aura of command. He is calculating, coercive, status-conscious, and risk-averse. He understands how to exploit love, fear, and institutional resources, but his courage collapses when those same tools no longer place another person between him and consequences. His last scene strips away the title and leaves Clothred, terrified of both death and the punishment Ning intends. (Chapters 495, 617, and 745–746)

Abilities and cultivation

Alliance command

Clothred can mobilize large numbers of Empyrean Gods, True Immortals, golems, archers, and formations across the Seamless worlds. This authority makes him strategically dangerous even though stronger major powers outrank him in personal might and historical standing. (Chapters 617 and 662–674)

Coercion and agent control

He maintains Yu Wei's service through threats, secrecy, and manipulation of her bond with Ning. The method is psychological and institutional rather than a named mind-control technique in the cited scenes. (Chapters 495 and 546)

Strategic coordination

He combines Everwood's formation analysis with available troops and long-range attack options, attempting to exploit the instant before Ning can escape in the Voidboat. His plans demonstrate access to intelligence and resources, but also dependence on advisers for technical solutions. (Chapters 616–617)

Cultivation limits

Clothred is a major Seamless figure, but he cannot resist the Lord of All Fiends' spatial control and azure binding rope; he is captured before he can escape. The corpus emphasizes command more than any personal named combat art. (Chapter 746)
