Hegemon Wuye

Hegemon Wuye is Realmslord Windgrace's second disciple and the only one of his disciples known to have become a Hegemon. Although his actual path is the Dao of Fire, he devotes his life to studying Sithe constructs and golems rather than pursuing influence or martial fame.

Biography

The unremarkable disciple who became a Hegemon

Wuye spends his Daolord years absorbed in construct research and is regarded as one of Windgrace's least remarkable students. His advancement overturns that assessment: while secluded and working on golem parts, he abruptly senses that his Daomerge will succeed, attempts it without elaborate preparation, and becomes a Hegemon through the Dao of Fire. He remains beside Windgrace on the Blacksun, living plainly and studying the Sithe golems his master acquired during the Dawn War. The apparent mismatch between his fiery cultivation path and his consuming interest in machinery becomes his defining trait. (Chapter 1225)

Wuye has little appetite for conventional supremacy. When Emperor Skylight reports that Ji Ning possesses a realmship, Wuye is surprised but declines any attempt to seize it. He would rather continue researching golems and, if transport is needed, borrow Windgrace's own vessel. He does, however, anticipate that other Hegemons will seek access to the Blacksun's inter-realmverse conduit, showing that his casual manner does not prevent him from identifying the strategic consequences of the news. Ferrying the realmship hunters

The realmship revelation creates an opportunity that does interest Wuye: transport. He borrows Windgrace's realmship and organizes three batches of Hegemons and Emperors from several realmverses, charging Hegemons more because they have a greater chance of winning the prize. He openly admits that the rare service lets him earn treasures, though most of the proceeds will go to his master. He carries the first nine passengers to the Flamedragon Realmverse, leaves them to decide whether to hunt Ning immediately, and departs for the remaining groups. The second delivery follows 120,000 years after the secret becomes public, and Wuye again refuses to join the struggle himself. His role is logistical and commercial, not predatory. Flamewing and Darknorth

After Ning tames Flamewing God, Wuye calmly considers what the Chaos Primordial could mean for Windgrace's future standing. He understands that Ning's lifespan is limited if the Daomerge fails and that control of Flamewing could eventually change hands, but he accepts Windgrace's decision not to pressure Ning. The episode reveals the judgment behind Wuye's foolish-looking exterior: at moments affecting his master's position, he assesses both immediate power and consequences across chaos cycles. When Ning later visits the Blacksun, Wuye greets him across an immense distance and escorts his party to Windgrace. His fascination with rare beings immediately fixes on Flamewing, only for the Chaos Primordial to remark that Wuye looks edible. Wuye pales and quickly opens the door to his master's courtyard, ending their first meeting on a comic reminder that even a Hegemon has reason to fear a hungry Chaos Primordial. (Chapters 1271–1272)

Appearance and personality

Wuye appears as a chubby youth or child despite his ancient cultivation. He looks foolish and behaves casually, drinking with his master, teasing Skylight, and haggling without embarrassment. That exterior conceals a focused and perceptive mind. His lifelong obsession with constructs gives him the patience to study problems that most cultivators would ignore, while his discussion of Flamewing shows composure when his master's long-term position is at stake.

He is unambitious about rank but not indifferent to profit. Wuye refuses to fight over Ning's realmship, yet charges aggressively for safe passage aboard Windgrace's vessel. His loyalty is uncomplicated: he stays near Windgrace, expects to share most transport proceeds with him, and evaluates major events primarily by how they may affect his master.

Abilities and cultivation

Dao of Fire and Hegemony

Wuye completed the Daomerge and became a Hegemon through the Dao of Fire. The narrative does not name his fire techniques or show a full-power battle, so their precise offensive form is not established. His successful Daomerge nevertheless grants the enduring divine power, Immortal energy, perception, and authority associated with Hegemon-class Eternal Emperors. His advancement was unusually intuitive: he attempted the Daomerge only after feeling certain of success while working on construct parts. (Chapter 1225)

Construct and golem expertise

Construct study is Wuye's true vocation. He analyzes strange Sithe artifacts and the golems Windgrace obtained after the Dawn War, devoting far more attention to their construction than to contests between major powers. The corpus establishes deep research experience but does not show him independently manufacturing a named Sithe-class machine; his expertise should therefore not be confused with demonstrated ownership of the Blacksun or its full systems. His ability to spend countless years on such work also explains why Windgrace values his obsessive temperament. (Chapters 1225 and 1265)

Realmship logistics

Wuye can pilot a borrowed realmship across the Great Dark and plan multi-realmverse collection routes. Realmships tunnel through spacetime far faster than ordinary travel, but they do not provide the Blacksun's instantaneous conduit. Wuye uses the vessel as a ferry, grouping passengers by distance, collecting payment, delivering them near the Flamedragon Realmverse, and promising to return them once the contest ends. This is a demonstrated transport capability rather than a claim that he owns the craft. (Chapters 1227–1230)

Perception and communication

From the Blacksun, Wuye identifies and speaks with Ning across more than a hundred billion kilometers. He also participates in the long-distance information network connecting the Sixteen Realmverses Alliance through its Hegemons and Emperors. These feats reflect his Hegemon-level senses and status, though the corpus does not name a specialized perception art. (Chapters 1265 and 1271)

Relationships

• Realmslord Windgrace: Wuye's master, who treats his second disciple almost like a child, gives him Sithe golems to study, and lends him a realmship.
• Emperor Skylight: Wuye's seventh apprentice-brother, whom he teases for visiting only when he has business.
