Biography

Entry into the wider conflict

Qirai entered the Twilight Ocean expedition as a suspicious protector, questioning whether Zac could be trusted and keeping watch around the party’s concealed refuge. Her competitiveness soon showed when she explosively raced him for a valuable plant and reached it at the same moment, establishing her as a physically formidable Titan rather than merely a passive attendant. Later responsibilities and consequences

Qirai fought alongside Catheya during the Hollowtongue Mountains ambush, then revised her judgment after Zac saved her master Varo several times and defeated most of an enemy squad. She chose to open up, offer Zac liquor, steer their vessel, and keep lookout; she also carried the unconscious Varo, turning initial mistrust into earned battlefield camaraderie. (Chapter 718)
