Varo is Catheya's personal steward and the leader of her deathsworn, combining quiet intelligence work with lethal stealth and Karmic techniques.

Biography

Role in the wider conflict

Varo enters Catheya's service after she leads an Incursion on his world, then chooses a role defined by precise support rather than public command. In the Tower of Eternity he independently investigates rival climbers and supplies Catheya with the Tsarun clan's status and likely weaknesses. During the Twilight Ocean campaign he fights, scouts, and returns with enemy bodies despite serious wounds. He later performs much of the technical work that fatelinks a corpse to Zac, creating a decoy destination for hostile Karmic traces and giving Zac another layer of concealment. Appearance and personality

Varo is a male Draugr with a restrained, formal manner. He speaks slowly, reports facts without embellishment, and usually remains near Catheya until action is required. Even his dangerous work is presented with the composure of a steward rather than a boastful assassin. (Chapters 397, 436, 472, and 705)

Abilities and cultivation

His skills lean toward stealth, assassination, domains, arrays, and Karma. He can disappear while a domain highlights hidden attackers, rapidly eliminate targets, cycle a Dao through group formations, and help redirect Karmic links. The precise class, Dao Branches, and later grade are not confirmed. (Chapters 686, 704–705, and 786)
