Iz Tayn

Iz Tayn is the sole granddaughter of Mohzius Tayn, the Thousandflame Eccentric, and a Flamebearer competing for Ultom’s Eternal Heritage. Raised by one of the Multiverse’s great flame lineages, she possesses overwhelming fire affinity, a powerful evolving bloodline, three Late-stage Dao Branches, and multiple flame Aspects. Her pursuit of Zac Atwood begins as curiosity about an unusual cultivator and develops into friendship, mutual instruction, and a shared—though still competitive—connection to Ultom.

Biography

The Tower and a mark of fate

Iz first appeared at the Tower of Eternity’s Battle of Fates seated atop a miniature sun, already so dangerous that Zac refused to challenge her and other winners fled rather than risk provoking her. She watched Zac survive a mentalist, reveal his dual nature, and force a breakthrough, then singled him out as someone connected to her by fate. When he tried to escape, she blocked his route and branded him with a flame that pierced his defenses. Her choice transformed a passing encounter into a lasting Karmic connection, even though both were still F-grade cultivators. (Chapters 441–445)

Back with her family, Iz’s bored public manner gave way to excitement as she told her grandfather about the strange “Mr. Bug” who had escaped her. She asked for help restoring the tracking mark after Zac destroyed its physical trace, not out of factional necessity but because he was the first person in the Tower she found genuinely interesting. Mohzius permitted her to pursue him only after her next bloodline evolution and first Dao Branch, so Iz immediately chose to begin the breakthrough. Her curiosity thereby supplied the drive her grandfather believed she lacked, while family expectations turned that curiosity into a cultivation goal. (Chapter 471)

The Void Star partnership

Years later, Iz crossed vast distances to find Zac after his escape from the Void Star. Although powerful enough to force a confrontation, she first asked whether he believed cultivation should be a solitary road, revealing that her pursuit concerned purpose as much as wounded pride. She still intended to test whether his fate was strong enough for a Flamebearer, but accepted Ogras’s argument that an injured opponent would make the test meaningless. When told about the Black Heart Sect’s plan, she chose to postpone their duel and join the mission, turning a threatened reckoning into a temporary partnership. (Chapter 916)

Iz then committed herself fully when the Qriz’Ul crisis escalated. She fought cultists as a one-woman army, sealed the Qriz’Ul King long enough for Zac to maneuver, and continued battling a cursed water elemental after it wounded her, reduced her reserves to thirty percent, and exhausted her cleansing natal flame. Removing her own Fateward protection, she spent Everflame Essence on Trinity Apocalypse, destroyed the elemental, cleansed Ogras, and gave Zac restorative nectar after his ruinous use of Chaos. The experience provided something her thousands of arranged battles had not: victory chosen under real risk for companions whose survival mattered to her. (Chapters 924 and 926–927)

Friendship, obligation, and the Eternal Heritage

Iz insisted on the postponed duel because leaving it unresolved had troubled her for a decade, yet the resulting contest became instruction rather than punishment. She revealed multiple Aspects, rewarded Zac with the Stone of Celestial Void, analyzed dangerous mixtures in his cultivation, and sparred with him at restricted attributes. During their conversations, Iz admitted that she cultivated to honor sacrifices made by her family and deliberately favored foundations that could support an eventual ascent to Autarchy over rapid short-term advancement. Touring Earth exposed her to a society built around billions of “lesser fates,” while giving Zac a friend whose status and longevity made the loneliness of advancement intelligible. That friendship did not erase Iz’s obligations. After learning that Ultom required nine Sealbearers, she rejected an easy solution that would permanently bind unwilling strangers to her fate and stated that an inheritance incompatible with her beliefs was not hers to claim. She exchanged long-distance cultivation aid with Zac, then returned home to train until the Eternal Heritage trial rather than remain for side adventures. The Thousandflame Eccentric’s reaction to suspected romantic interest nearly made Kruta an example, demonstrating how family protection complicates relationships that socially inexperienced Iz may not even regard as intimate. Later expectations still place her among the active Flamebearers, and her reputation associates larger beast hordes with larger pyres. Appearance and personality

Iz is described as beautiful beyond comparison, with features visibly marked by an extraordinary affinity for Fire. Primordial flames flicker in her eyes, and even her quiet presence can make an E-grade aura feel like a concentrated manifestation of the Dao itself. She usually wears an impassive or bored expression, but excitement brings quick changes: widened eyes, a suppressed smile, or a flush she tries to hide. Her transformations alter her further, adding radiant wings, opalescent flame-sheathed skin, golden feathers, or butterfly-like traits according to the Aspects she invokes. Sheltered power leaves Iz both imperious and unexpectedly naïve. She assumes that fate and strength can be tested directly, yet she dislikes the transactional smiles surrounding her family and avoids Karmic debts that would turn friendship into exploitation. She is curious about ordinary experiences precisely because her upbringing denied them to her, and genuine danger excites rather than repels her. Beneath that recklessness is a strict personal ethic: she honors exchanges, protects companions after accepting a mission, refuses inheritance strategies that violate her beliefs, and works to justify what her elders sacrificed for her future. Abilities and cultivation

Iz’s path is a peak-lineage fire cultivation system built around a natal flame, an evolving bloodline, three Late-stage Dao Branches, inherited skills, and transformable Aspects. Her power at Peak E-grade could eclipse the aura of a Hegemon, but that comparison reflects the quality and condensation of her cultivation rather than a D-grade breakthrough. No chapter through 1433 confirms Hegemony, her exact E-grade class evolution, or the completed stages of her bloodline evolution. (Chapters 445, 471, 916, 961, and 1068)

Bloodline, foundations, and Dao

The Tayn heritage gives Iz an exceptionally high affinity for Fire and a natal flame that can cleanse corruption and protect her mind. Her family’s training emphasizes purification, communion with the Heavens, and long foundations rather than racing between grades. Iz explains that this approach conserves strength for later bottlenecks and creates improvements that compound throughout a cultivation journey. It also imposes a practical delay: she knowingly accepts years or decades of slower visible advancement so that her body, bloodline, and Dao can better support Monarchy and ultimately Autarchy. By Chapter 924, at least two of Iz’s fire-related Dao Branches powered flames that carried an ancient, origin-like quality. Her third Branch was present by Chapter 961, and all three are explicitly Late-stage by Chapter 1068. Their formal names are not given, but their applications correspond to three flame paths represented by the Abyssal Butterfly, Vermillion Bird, and Golden Crow. Iz can infuse even simple attacks with intricate Dao Arrays, creating power and meaning beyond ordinary E-grade fire techniques; equalized sparring shows that this Dao infusion is stronger than Zac’s even when his integrated weapon technique is slightly better. World’s End and flame control

World’s End manifests as the miniature sun on which Iz stands. It supplies a broad burning domain, defensive barriers, movement, and a platform for her larger skills. Iz can turn its flames into rivers or walls, project beams and solar flares, and support an autonomous demonic flame avatar. A simple marked flame pierced Zac’s layered defenses in the Tower, while her later golden sun withstood his strongest attacks and could release an Abyssal Star wave that disrupted skills and consciousness. The disruption can be mitigated by blocking its light from the eyes, and sufficiently incompatible or overwhelming forces can still breach the sun’s protection. (Chapters 441–445, 916, and 959–960)

Her control extends beyond destruction. Cleansing Pyre burns corruption from a target while cauterizing and restoring wounds, and Sungod’s Eyes sees through concealment that would otherwise hide combat. Iz can lay golden sigils to seal a Hegemon-level enemy, create flame domains that conceal all energy fluctuations, and use her natal flame to drive foreign voices from her mind. These applications remain bounded by perception and reserves: dense Lost Plane corruption obstructed Sungod’s Eyes, her cleansing flame dimmed under sustained assault, and a cursed elemental both wounded her and resisted Abyssal fire until she escalated. Aspects and transformation combat

Iz’s Aspects are transformations requiring the combined support of bloodline, inheritance, Dao, and energy control. They convert and add physical attributes from Intelligence and Wisdom, allowing a cultivator who often fights like a mage to match Zac in melee speed and strength. One Aspect gives translucent Abyssal Butterfly wings, opalescent skin protected by destructive flame, an infernal flower used as both club and wand, and blossoms that birth explosive butterflies. A Golden Crow Aspect adds golden wings, feathered traits, a small sun, solar flares, and crow familiars. A third Aspect exists but was held back in her duel with Zac. (Chapters 959–961)

Aspects may be layered or fused, but their use has consequences serious enough that Iz’s elders discourage displaying them outside protected circumstances. Combining two let her Golden Sun release the Abyssal Star’s disruptive radiance. The forms drastically raise her versatility but do not grant perfect technique: in equalized close combat, Zac’s Integration-based movements gradually pressed her defense before she added more Aspects. Their flame sheath also consumes or burns physical restraints rather than making her untouchable, and Zac ultimately managed to leave a cut near her eye before she healed it with fire. Trinity Apocalypse and limits

Trinity Apocalypse divides Iz into three avatars aligned with the Empyrean Flame’s paths. The Abyssal Butterfly calls fire from the underworld, the Vermillion Bird releases the flames of first dawn, and the Golden Crow drops a sun from above. Their convergence destroyed the cursed water elemental that had resisted her individual attacks. The skill is both destructive and regenerative in symbolism, joining three planes and three paths into one finishing strike rather than merely increasing the heat of a single flame. (Chapter 926)

The victory required Iz to tear away a Fateward Treasure, rouse a heavily depleted natal flame, and consume Everflame Essence. She entered the battle with real danger to body and mind, and afterward had to retreat into World’s End when a shockwave filled with corruption crossed the ruins. These costs show why her overwhelming E-grade combat power should not be mistaken for invulnerability or Hegemony: powerful D-grade threats can wound her, sustained cleansing drains her reserves, fate interference remains dangerous, and her strongest transformation techniques draw on limited foundational resources. • Ogras Azh’Rezak: Ogras initially placated Iz by redirecting her demand for a duel into the Black Heart Sect mission. She viewed his ingratiating manner with suspicion but accepted him as a companion, cleansed his corruption after the battle, and recognized that his fate had become entangled with Zac’s. • Mohzius Tayn: Iz’s grandfather is both affectionate guardian and cultivation authority. She values his happiness more than Tower rewards, while he hopes genuine curiosity will give her a reason to strive toward the Terminus.
