Galau
Galau is a Beroria clansman who tries to exchange his family's martial destiny for a life of appraisal and trade. His bargain with Zac Atwood and Ogras Azh'Rezak begins as a calculated attempt to secure freedom, but war turns the anxious merchant into a Hegemon, quartermaster, Formation Master, and weaponsmith whose knowledge repeatedly keeps stronger fighters alive.
Biography
Entry and defining relationships
Galau approaches Zac and Ogras in the Tower of Eternity's Base Town with hospitality, flattering conversation, and unusually detailed knowledge of its markets. His generosity has a purpose. Clan Beroria expects a main-branch descendant to continue its warrior tradition, while Galau wants to become an appraiser and operate a store. He needs an impressive climb to gain that freedom without exposing that stronger companions carried him, so he offers each man three billion Nexus Coins and bargains over Dao Treasures for an escort beyond the thirtieth level. (Chapters 385–391)
The climb exposes more than Galau's mercantile ambition. He guides the group through tower rules, auctions, arrays, curses, and the value of unfamiliar treasures, while ocular appraisal and a high-tier Seed of Heaviness support an aggressive two-handed sword style when he must fight. He nevertheless chooses to remain on a merchant-oriented floor rather than risk the climb's later restrictions. There he takes over a shop, converts gathered spoils into inventory, and begins trading under his own control. The plan gains him practical independence, but Zac's conflicts make his old identity dangerous and lead the Peak family to hide him under a new one. (Chapters 407–416 and 459–474)
Escalation, choices, and consequences
The new identity sends Galau into the Million Gates Territory with the Muscle Brigade. He initially serves as quartermaster, inspecting captured spatial tools for traps and watching warriors destroy goods he would rather sell, but repeated campaigns change his priorities. He volunteers for a dangerous scouting mission against the Kan'Tanu because the Allbright Empire remains his home even after his clan discards him. His ocular skill helps the squad investigate an apparently abandoned position, where an ancient fortress suddenly traps them and turns a military deployment into a years-long struggle for survival. (Chapters 635, 805, 912, and 966)
Inside the fortress, Galau finds a repository and a Threadwinder opportunity that give him the foundation to study its ancient arrays. Only eight members of the separated force survive long enough to reach the command center, and Galau turns their losses into a plan: reactivate the fortress, aim the Centurion Spear at the Kan'Tanu, and escape through vessels during the launch. Reunited with Zac and Emily, he rewires defenses, installs targeting controls, and repairs Yselio's sabotage under attack. The plan succeeds, confirming that the former worrywart has become a Hegemon willing to stake his life on work only he can perform. (Chapters 1153–1158)
Later role and current direction
Galau joins the Atwood Empire after the fortress escape and converts survival knowledge into infrastructure. He strengthens the Ensolus Ruins, turns a ritual needed to help Vilari into an array disk, reroutes ship systems during emergencies, maintains gates, and recreates Zac's dual Life-and-Death cultivation environment aboard an ancient vessel. Work with the Ishiate Tinkerers broadens that contribution into weapons development and unstable explosives. His designs are not effortless solutions: scarce materials, long charge times, damaged consoles, and ancient systems beyond a Hegemon's comprehension repeatedly force improvisation or make promising devices experimental. (Chapters 1174, 1188, 1193–1194, 1223–1270, 1296, and 1306)
Galau later pursues Ultom on his own rather than remaining solely an imperial technician. He abandons the Daedalian Court despite holding a Threadwinder Seal because its neo-imperials would reduce him to a warslave, then turns toward the Anima Court to repair the weak soul that limits his formation path. Failing its preliminary test damages that soul, but he finds a tainted healing well and repays its keeper by repairing local arrays. Recovery leaves him without guaranteed entry, yet he refuses to retreat to safer regions. Remembering the lighthouse, Emily, and the need to balance patience with boldness, he resolves to train until he can steal or earn another route through the Soulgate. (Chapter 1412)
Appearance and personality
Galau first presents as a timid, well-mannered young merchant whose embarrassment, stammering, and frantic gestures make his heavy weapon and martial background seem incongruous. Years with the Muscle Brigade leave his hands scarred and his battlefield bearing strong enough that Zac initially struggles to reconcile the ferocious warrior with the “squirrely” acquaintance from Base Town. A soul treatment later turns his face temporarily purple, a side effect he tolerates with more concern about Emily's reaction than his dignity. (Chapters 385–390, 407, 635, 1153, and 1412)
His caution is genuine, but it is not cowardice. Galau worries, complains, and guards every profitable scrap, then acts decisively when companions or a larger cause require it. He can be calculating and ethically flexible in trade, as shown when he seizes a tower shop and disguises the takeover, yet he also accepts responsibility that carries no safe profit. War gives his knowledge a civic purpose, while his later refusal to abandon the Inner Region shows that ambition has outgrown the narrow dream of opening a store without extinguishing his mercantile instincts. (Chapters 389–416, 635, 805, 966, 1154–1155, and 1412)
Abilities and cultivation
Galau's path joins a Beroria martial foundation with mercantile skills, appraisal, ancient formations, and weaponsmithing. While still F-grade, he intends to use his trading record to evolve into a hybrid E-grade class that preserves Warrior and Sword Mastery while opening a traveling-merchant route. The resulting class name and intermediate advancement remain unknown. By the Centurion Lighthouse crisis he is a Hegemon, though his D-grade substage and the construction of his Cosmic Core remain unknown. (Chapters 391, 407, and 1154)
Appraisal, commerce, and ocular perception
Galau learns to assess buyers, sellers, and objects through both experience and a specialized ocular skill purchased from a Skill House on his home world. It helps him distinguish materials, evaluate craftsmanship, identify valuable pills and natural treasures, and find concealed trackers in captured spatial equipment. In the Tower, the same knowledge lets him interpret rules and markets quickly enough to turn borrowed protection into profit. Later, it becomes a scouting tool against Kan'Tanu positions and a quartermaster's defense against traps hidden among loot. (Chapters 386–390, 398, 409, 416, 635, and 805)
The perception is informative rather than omniscient. Galau needs reference knowledge, records, and time to interpret unfamiliar work, and corruption can disrupt his thoughts and prevent reliable inspection. Ancient structures routinely exceed anything his home sector teaches, forcing him to infer functions through testing rather than simply look at an array and know its design. His strength lies in connecting partial evidence—material behavior, runic flow, historical context, and commercial incentives—while recognizing when an item or formation remains beyond a safe appraisal. (Chapters 389, 409, 412, 966, 1153–1155, and 1194)
Heavy sword foundation
Clan Beroria trains Galau as a warrior despite his preferred profession. His F-grade class supplies Sword Mastery, and he fights with a large two-handed blade whose attacks emphasize momentum, impact, and a high-tier Dao Seed of Heaviness rather than elegant cuts. Against the Tower's wolves, that style proves he has real combat talent beneath the anxious manner. His intended hybrid evolution is meant to retain enough martial competence for a traveling merchant to survive without abandoning the commercial path he wants. (Chapters 390–391, 407, and 409)
Later campaigns temper that inherited foundation into the resilience expected of a Hegemon, but Galau does not become his group's primary duelist. He depends on squad formations, talismans, prepared arrays, and specialists such as Zac or the Muscle Brigade when overwhelming force is required. That division is deliberate: his sword keeps him alive long enough to work, while his ability to open a sealed route, identify a target, or redirect a fortress-scale weapon contributes more than trying to match dedicated combatants blow for blow. (Chapters 805, 966, and 1153–1158)
Formation mastery and ancient systems
Galau's decisive advancement as a Formation Master begins with the Threadwinder opportunity and a Limitless Empire repository inside the Centurion Lighthouse. Years of studying its records let him trace ancient energy flows, short-circuit doors, alter guardian priorities, conceal squads, and override the fortress's lockdown. He works through array disks and temporary runic paths rather than possessing unrestricted authority. This distinction matters during the launch: he can train the Centurion Spear on a detected Kan'Tanu signature and resurrect damaged controls with Zac's token, but he cannot halt the launch protocol or guarantee the decaying fortress will survive. (Chapters 966 and 1153–1156)
After joining the Atwood Empire, Galau generalizes those lessons. He translates rituals into portable array disks, strips illusions from ancient ruins, holds unstable gates open, reroutes power around damaged ship sections, and rebuilds a cultivation environment from conflicting Life, Death, and warlike energies. His work often interacts with another expert's authority or power—sealbearers activate functions he can route, ship spirits supply access he lacks, and Zac's resources provide the energy pattern to reproduce. He remains limited by material grade, preparation time, soul strength, and the danger of feedback from damaged circuits. (Chapters 1174, 1193–1194, 1223–1270, and 1412)
Weaponsmithing and military invention
The Muscle Brigade teaches Galau how weapons fail under real campaign pressure, and his later collaboration with Ishiate Tinkerers turns that experience into destructive engineering. He helps adapt bombs and weapon systems, repairs a powerful explosive during a countdown, and contributes knowledge that accelerates projects around the Godslayer Cannons. Array craft and weaponsmithing overlap in these devices: charge routes, control runes, timing, and safe deployment matter as much as the explosive material itself. (Chapters 1193, 1296, and 1306)
Not every design reaches battlefield readiness. The Cherry Nuts require a Hegemon to spend more than a minute charging them, cannot be safely charged in advance, and may detonate from the shock of launch; their key material is also expensive and uncertain in supply. These constraints keep them experimental despite their power. By Chapter 1412, Galau's strongest confirmed professional state remains that of a Hegemon and Grand Formation Master whose next priority is improving the soul that supports further array work. (Chapters 1296 and 1412)
Items
Galau carries a changing professional kit of appraisal records, talismans, array disks, scanning tools, and a two-handed sword. These are working implements that he replaces, modifies, or expends according to the mission rather than a single named personal artifact defining his path.

Relationships
- Zac Atwood: Galau initially treats Zac as the ideal escort and future business connection, then becomes one of the technical experts Zac trusts with ancient arrays, emergency systems, and high-risk plans. Zac's refusal to abandon him during the lighthouse crisis turns a commercial bargain into lasting loyalty. (Chapters 385–416, 467–474, 1153–1158, and 1174–1270)
- Ogras Azh'Rezak: Ogras distrusts and teases Galau from their first dinner, but recognizes both his commercial cunning and later transformation. Their rapport remains abrasive even after Galau becomes a Hegemon and Grand Formation Master. (Chapters 385–416 and 1193–1194)
- Emily: Emily meets Galau with a weapon at his throat, quickly recognizes his technical value, helps extract him from the lighthouse, and becomes his partner. Her own appetite for risk gives Galau a personal standard when his caution threatens to become retreat. (Chapters 1153–1158, 1223–1252, and 1412)
- Bubbur: Bubbur is a Muscle Brigade survivor whose mockery of “Shartermaster” masks trust in Galau's judgment. He guards Galau during array work and treats the merchant's growth with pride. (Chapters 635, 966, 1153–1158, and 1193)
- Vilari: Galau masters and miniaturizes a ritual intended to help Vilari, providing Zac with a practical way to approach the Epiclesis Bell. (Chapter 1193)
