Biography

Role in the wider conflict

Bubbur first protects Galau in battle, warns him of attacks, and pushes the merchant to keep inventory moving while the squad follows its aggressive commander. Trapped in the fortress, he argues that Galau should trust his instincts and credits Galau's talismans with keeping the survivors alive. When Zac's group breaches the command center, Bubbur stays to guard Galau during repairs and supports firing the Centurion Spear rather than letting the Kan'Tanu seize the relic. He survives the escape, reveals himself as a Tethered Court sealbearer, and chooses the Acheron Company and Atwood Empire over becoming an outsider faction's pawn. Bubbur is a bearded, grizzled veteran whose entry into the Muscle Brigade leaves him looking far older than his not-quite-ninety years. He is blunt, loyal, irreverent, and willing to joke under threat, but his practical warnings and decision to guard Galau show steady discipline. (Chapters 805, 1153–1158, and 1248)
