Ulyn

Ulyn is the Aurora Clan's sole faction-tournament representative and the favored strongest student of the Light Faction. He wants to become a public beacon through his own cultivation, but clan leaders compel him to rely on a protective artifact and later use a concealed worm to control him.

Biography

The Light Faction favorite

Ulyn enters the tournament carrying the expectations of the strongest Light Faction clan. Confident that only Hannah poses real difficulty, he nevertheless frames his ambition as service: he wants to rise far enough to become a beacon and believes the faction should train rather than depend on artifacts. Clan Head Kawak orders him to wear a circular emergency artifact anyway. Ulyn protests that it makes the duel unfair, obeys under authority, and is defeated when Raze's Void Pulse destroys the device before activation and knocks him unconscious. (Chapters 624 and 633–653)

The implanted worm

Much later, Heino activates a bracelet while confronting the Light Faction heads. Chapter 1069 first stages Kawak and Circle before him, but then explicitly says that “Ulyn also” collapses beside Kawak as a restrictive worm in the chest causes agony. That naming creates unresolved continuity in the scene, yet it is the only later evidence attached to Ulyn. The worm can be killed remotely and is therefore a coercive implant, not Ulyn's own ability; his condition after the pain is not shown. (Chapter 1069)

Appearance and personality

The corpus emphasizes Ulyn's confident bearing and the pressure of being the tournament favorite more than specific physical features. He is proud of his standing but objects to an unfair advantage and articulates a future in which Light Faction warriors rely on training. His obedience to Kawak shows that principle operates within strict clan hierarchy rather than making him independent of it. (Chapters 633–640)

Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Ulyn is an elite academy swordsman and the Light Faction's strongest student entrant. He channels Qi through his movement and weapon, but the corpus does not name his personal style or state his cultivation stage in the cited scenes. Raze ends their match with Void Pulse before Ulyn can display an extensive repertoire, so his reputation should not be converted into undocumented techniques. (Chapters 633–640)

Neither the circular defensive object nor the restrictive worm is an innate power. The former is designed to activate only when Ulyn is in danger but shatters under Void Pulse before its protection is demonstrated. The latter sits near the chest and can be triggered through Heino's bracelet to inflict potentially fatal pain. These mechanisms respectively represent imposed assistance and imposed control. Relationships

• Kawak: Kawak treats Ulyn as the clan and faction favorite but overrides his objection to using an artifact. Chapter 1069 links them again as victims of Heino's coercive implant.
• Raze Cromwell: Ulyn faces Raze under his “Jake” identity. Raze destroys the emergency artifact and defeats him before it can change the match.
• Heino: Heino's bracelet activates the worm identified inside Ulyn, demonstrating power over his life rather than a consensual partnership.

Items

• Circular emergency artifact: Kawak orders Ulyn to wear this dimensional object despite his objections. It is supposed to activate only when he is in trouble, but Raze's Void Pulse cracks and destroys it before its effect appears. (Chapters 639–640)
