Lily
Lily is a Crimson Crane spear warrior who initially challenges Alba's alliance with Raze Cromwell, then fights throughout the faction tournament and the wars against Alter. Raze later crafts her the mythical cursed Sunspear of the Forsaken Dawn, whose solar power sustains and arms her during daylight at the cost of a growing terror of darkness. The corpus also uses “Lilly” for an earlier Crane spear user and switches spellings within Chapter 1139; the approved census keeps Lilly separate, so this article does not borrow her family or appearance details.
Biography
Doubts after Elvlin's death
Lily enters the narrative grieving Elvlin and openly challenging Alba for continuing to follow Raze, the man responsible for Elvlin's death. Even after Reno argues that the Dark Magus is now part of the Crane's family, Lily insists that she would not have killed one of their own. Her willingness to speak when the room is tense establishes both loyalty to fallen companions and suspicion of power-based alliances; Alba answers by permitting dissent while warning her not to provoke the much stronger Raze carelessly. (Chapter 583)
Rebuilding and renewed combat
Lily remains with the Crimson Crane despite that dispute. As the group helps civilians and seeks materials, she notes that she, Alba, and Froma still lack Dark-Magus-made weapons and wants the Crane prepared for future threats. She fights through the faction tournament and Flendon campaign, at times taking severe injuries and continuing until her spear hand is torn. The later Lily-spelled scenes show commitment to the same coalition she once questioned, but do not contain a formal reversal of her earlier moral objection. (Chapters 603–609, 684–696, and 817–879)
The Sunspear
Before the war with Alter, Raze fulfills his promise to the Crane by crafting Lily one of six high-grade cursed weapons. Testing the new arsenal leaves most of the group battered and confirms that the weapons are dangerous even among allies. In battle, Lily's golden spear absorbs sunlight, restores the Qi and energy she spends, launches heat rays, detonates pierced golems, and lets her maintain a pace observers mistake for inexhaustible. She knowingly accepts its curse because the coalition needs its strength, even as every sunset begins to cause fear. (Chapters 1115 and 1125–1137)
Deleters and the final war
Lily uses the Sunspear beside Alba and Tilon against a Deleter, firing beams to weaken Dark Qi attacks and drawing on the spear's regeneration during close combat. She continues through the pursuit of Kush and the coalition's later campaigns. In Alterian's final war, she destroys mages with energy shots and a ground-smashing spear strike, then stands with the group against Idore. Her last direct scene is in Flendon after victory, alive and asking why Raze has run off before Liam identifies his search for Safa. (Chapters 1139–1160, 1258, 1735–1740, and 1770)
Appearance and personality
Lily's own spelling-specific passages do not establish stable hair, eye, or facial details. In battle she is identified by her spear and Crimson Crane membership. She is outspoken enough to challenge Alba, skeptical of Raze's moral standing, and unwilling to let grief be erased by political convenience. Later she can still smile about conflicting loyalties and works reliably within a large coalition, showing accommodation without a stated abandonment of her original concerns. (Chapters 583, 1119–1120, and 1735–1770)
Chapter 1139 calls the arriving fighter “Lilly” and then “Lily” during the same continuous engagement. The corpus offers no diegetic explanation for that switch. Under the approved separate census, this page uses Lily-spelled evidence and does not treat Lilly's long dark-brown hair, sibling relationship with Kizer, or early expedition history as automatically belonging to Lily. (Chapter 1139)
Magic, cultivation, and abilities
Pagna spear fighting
Lily is a trained Pagna warrior who channels Qi through a spear, combines thrusts with aerial spins and staff-like sweeps, and coordinates with shield and sword specialists. Before receiving Raze's weapon, the limits of an ordinary spear and her own endurance leave her injured in prolonged battles. The corpus never names her cultivation method or assigns her a final stage, and her strongest ranged attacks should not be treated as an innate magical affinity. (Chapters 603, 684–696, and 879)
Sunspear of the Forsaken Dawn
Raze creates the mythical-ranked cursed spear for Lily using high-grade materials, power stones, Qi, and Dark-magic enchantment. Its golden shaft ends in a black tip that absorbs sunlight and passes that energy to its wielder. It replenishes Lily's Qi, sustains strength and stamina, fires heat rays and beams, radiates dangerous heat, explodes targets after penetration, and releases multiple rays through spinning or ground impacts. The power is explicitly item-derived rather than Lily's own Qi, although her spear skill determines how she applies it. (Chapters 1115 and 1137)
The spear's strength follows daylight. At night, in cold conditions, or without sunlight, it has no power, and that weakness transfers to its wielder. Its curse produces an obsession with daylight, dread as the sun sets, a crushing sensation in shadows, and eventual madness after prolonged deprivation. During a sunny battle the stored power regenerates Lily and lets her maintain repeated full-force attacks, but it cannot guarantee victory against a Deleter who deflects the beams and wields stronger Dark Qi. Its latest demonstrated applications are long-range energy fire and an impact through the battlefield floor. (Chapters 1137–1140 and 1735)
Relationships
- Alba: Lily challenges Alba's decision to follow Raze but remains in her unit. They later coordinate their enchanted weapons against a Deleter.
- Raze Cromwell: Lily questions Raze's conduct after Elvlin's death, later argues that an ally can be viewed as an enemy by others, and accepts the cursed spear he makes for her.
- Reno: Reno defends the Crane's alliance with Raze when Lily objects. They continue fighting as members of the same group.
- Tilon: Lily uses Tilon's shield as cover and combines her spear beams with Alba's attacks to reduce blows that the shield alone might not withstand.
- Lilly: The two approved census entries have overlapping roles and inconsistent spellings, but the story never establishes a relationship or confirms identity. This article preserves that uncertainty.
Items
- Sunspear of the Forsaken Dawn: A mythical-ranked cursed spear created by Raze for Lily. It absorbs sunlight to replenish and empower her, but becomes powerless without it and progressively burdens the wielder with fear of darkness and possible madness. Lily still carries and uses the spear during the final Alterian war; no later transfer is shown. (Chapters 1115, 1137–1140, and 1735)
