Bronto

Bronto is the Guild Master of Underfang, a covert Black Guild protected and directed by Cerberus. Posing as a respectable portal host, he leads Wilton Academy students into an unexplored dimension as expendable scouts, then attacks them while disguised as a Dark Guild mage. Raze Cromwell defeats and exposes him, leaving Bronto as living evidence of the conspiracy.

Biography

A respectable host

Bronto welcomes Professor Luka, the Wilton teachers, and their students with polished authority, then rushes the group toward Underfang's portals under an organized escort. His civility quickly reveals a coercive edge: he strikes a whispering student with lightning, leaves lingering current in the victim's body, and harms Safa in the process. When Raze objects, Bronto deliberately attacks her again. The conduct presents cruelty as instruction while testing whether the visiting students can be controlled before the hidden operation begins. The false Dark Guild attack

Inside the unexplored dimension, Bronto and Underfang members use enchanted robes to distort their identities and attack the academy party as supposed Dark Guild mages. Their actual plan is to make students and teachers scout the portal, judge whether Underfang can exploit or sell it, and remove witnesses while directing blame elsewhere. Bronto's Six-Star lightning initially threatens the group, but Raze cancels and copies his spells, shatters his legs, drains his mana, and freezes his wrists. Safa heals him only enough for the party to take him back as proof. (Chapters 1359–1364)

Confession and survival through the portal

After Raze strips away the robe's illusion, Bronto admits Underfang has no Dark Guild affiliation. Under pressure from Dame and Raze, he says Cerberus ordered the student setup, the cursed-item delivery to the academy, and the disguises. He also confirms that Underfang survives as a Black Guild through Cerberus's political protection and even boasts that his strength earned the arrangement. While guiding the captors to the exit, he kills a small blue creature with a weak lightning spark; the act helps draw a larger threat, underscoring that even his reduced power and poor judgment remain dangerous. Underfang's fall

Bronto returns through the portal under guard while Raze's allies eliminate the Underfang mages waiting to murder survivors. He still tries to invoke Cerberus and label Raze's side as Dark Guild collaborators, but neither the witnesses nor Alen accept the diversion. In Underfang's own office, enchanted ropes restrain Bronto and two senior members while Alen verifies their instructions and discusses how to expose the wider scheme. Bronto is alive at the end of the interrogation; the corpus does not record a trial, escape, or execution. (Chapters 1377–1378)

Appearance and personality

Bronto appears to be in his forties, tall and broad, with a dark rugged beard. He wears a tailored blazer over crimson robes when presenting himself as a guild master and carries himself with practiced curiosity and authority. His Dark Guild disguise magically distorts his identity rather than merely covering his face; Raze removes the enchantment and restores his recognizable appearance. (Chapters 1340 and 1364)

He is domineering, theatrical, and proud of his strength. Bronto harms students under the language of discipline, enjoys the leverage supplied by Cerberus, and continues boasting after his defeat. Fear makes him confess and obey, but it does not produce remorse: even restrained, he searches for political narratives that could turn captors or witnesses against Raze. (Chapters 1341–1342, 1364–1366, and 1378)

Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Six-Star lightning magic

Bronto is a Six-Star Mage specializing in lightning. He casts bolts quickly enough to punish a student mid-conversation, leaves electrical charge convulsing through a target, spreads paralysis through the ground, and can force mana through his own body to break a copied paralyzing effect. He remains capable of a weak finger-spark after Raze drains most of his mana and freezes his wrists. The corpus does not name his affinity's origin or training, and Raze's broader affinities and superior control decisively counter him. (Chapters 1341–1342, 1359–1367)

Guild tactics and dimensional knowledge

Bronto knows Underfang's portals, the location of an exit, and the behavior of the powerful beasts guarding it. He uses formation, deception, and expendable scouts rather than exploration alone, but his information is incomplete enough that the dimension's boss still terrifies him. His disguise is item-derived Dark magic, not proof that he personally has a Dark affinity. Once the robe is neutralized and his mana suppressed, he contributes directions only under guard. Relationships

• Raze Cromwell: Bronto first treats Raze as an insolent student. Raze overwhelms his lightning, exposes his disguise, extracts his confession, and preserves him as evidence against Cerberus.
• Dame Narfous: Dame helps restrain and interrogate Bronto, using physical coercion when he refuses to answer the students.
• Professor Luka: Bronto greets Luka as a professional host while secretly planning to sacrifice his students. Luka later helps report the scheme to Alen.
• Alen: Alen verifies Underfang's Cerberus connection and confronts Bronto in custody, rejecting his effort to discredit Raze.
• Cerberus Guild: Cerberus protects and directs Underfang, orders the portal setup and cursed-item transfer, and provides the larger criminal network in which Bronto takes pride.

Items

• Identity-distorting robe: A Dark-magic-enchanted robe used to make Bronto appear to be a Dark Guild mage. Raze reverse-engineers and removes its illusion, exposing him to the students and teachers. No later custody is specified. (Chapter 1364)
